Not a very large station, but neither is it very small. It handles two major trunk routes, Delhi - Chennai and Howrah - Chennai, and therefore several express & super-fast trains pass through here. It has three platforms and most of the basic passenger amenities including and Automated Ticket Vending Machine. It's very clean. Cold drinking water is available as well as refreshments like tea, coffee, dosa, idli, bada etc.

The station premises are clean and well maintained. Here you found catering for both veg and non veg people. There should be some problem with washrooms. Retiring rooms and resezrve lounge are clean and neat. You found three platforms here.

One of the most important junction... Almost all train stops here .. Neat & clean premises ❣️.. Little bit crowd but not over crowded !

Very clean and nice railway station

It's a nice railway station and I am familiar with this place for the past 42 years. One can get auto rikswas to any place like nellore busstand, Addanki bus stand and main bus stand in and around Ongole on sharing basis. 20 rupees is enough to reach any place in Ongole from the railway station by share auto.

Station is clean and wide area. I saw a spectacular view of Indian flag at night at outside of the station which I didnt see ever till now even though I visited this place so many times

Small city...very hot during summers....city has been developing at good pace with malls ,big brand stores...has very good traditional market areas and few beaches around the city ...madanur beach is 20kms like a Virgin beach...high tides be careful

Ongole is a popular Station in this area. Mail Train stop in this Station.

As this is the nearest beach and the only relief for the people of Ongole (around 17 Kms), this is overcrowded during weekends. You can reach the beach by Buses (APSRTC) and the private transports like Autos from Ongole. Most of the buses will play till the bus stand and from the bus stand its almost 2 Kms. So one can need to look for the local transportation to reach the beach. Roads are good to drive (there are speed breakers near to the villages on the way) and currently Road expansion is going on. This beach is not so steep and not much waves. Because of the overcrowded and not maintained well, you can see lot of waste disposed on the beach. Fishing is official here and you can see lot of boats parked on the shore. If you go in the evening, there are lot of chances to get the fishes for very less price after bargaining with the local vendors. There are no beach resorts to stay and no refreshments to eat. This is very good place to hang out with friends and family.

If your boarding train at this Railway station, Please carry a mosquito repellent with you. Hell lot of mosquitos. Be aware of food stalls, check the MRP and pay the amount, if you ask the amount they say ₹5 extra, if you see price and ask, they say, pay the MRP. It's everywhere in all railway stations. Just be aware.

I like the exterior of the railway station building. An ongole bull is carved at the centre. The paint looks good. The station itself is decent enough for its size. The facilities, especially waiting halls and bathrooms could be better.
