I
recently
had
the
pleasure
of
staying
at
the
Olodonyo
Orak
Camp,
and
I
must
say
it
was
a
truly
unique
and
amazing
experience.
From
the
moment
I
arrived,
I
was
transported
back
in
time
to
a
bygone
era
of
colonial
Africa,
with
luxury
tents
that
reminded
me
of
the
iconic
movie
Out
of
Africa.
The
camp's
location
is
perfect
for
those
who
desire
a
taste
of
Africa
over
100
years
ago,
surrounded
by
a
private
wildlife
park
teeming
with
exotic
wildlife.
The
camp
is
owned
by
a
third-generation
Kenyan,
Nasir
Ahga,
and
his
wife
Lucy,
a
beautiful
Maasai
lady,
who
were
amazing
hosts
throughout
my
stay.
The
camp
manager,
Patrick,
was
also
fantastic
and
went
out
of
his
way
to
ensure
my
visit
was
enjoyable.
The
tents
were
equipped
with
modern
bathrooms
and
showers,
and
the
food
was
delicious,
with
a
variety
of
dishes
to
suit
different
tastes.
One
of
the
highlights
of
my
stay
was
waking
up
to
the
sound
of
starlings
and
the
grunting
sounds
of
the
wildebeest.
I
was
lucky
enough
to
see
giraffes,
ostriches,
dik
dik,
and
Thomson's
gazelles
as
I
strolled
to
breakfast
at
the
main
house.
The
peace
and
tranquillity
of
the
surroundings
were
truly
mesmerizing,
and
I
felt
completely
disconnected
from
the
hustle
and
bustle
of
Narobi.
The
camp
has
a
beautiful
pool,
which
provided
the
perfect
spot
to
unwind
and
read
a
good
book
while
overlooking
the
breathtaking
views,
surrounded
by
nature.
The
camp's
location
was
also
great,
only
25
kilometers
from
Namanga
Town
and
the
border
of
Tanzania,
and
only
50
kilometers
drive
through
a
game
park
to
Mount
Kilamanjaro.
Overall,
my
experience
at
the
Olodonyo
Orak
Camp
was
unique,
luxurious,
and
unforgettable.
I
would
highly
recommend
it
to
anyone
who
wants
to
escape
the
city
and
experience
the
beauty
of
Africa
in
its
natural
state.
