Four days at Elewant Tortilis ended our two-week odessy round the magic of Kenya. It was better than expected. Incredibly comfortable accommodation in proper tents yet with good hot powerful showers and efficient bathrooms. Very thoughtful touches every day including Valentine's Day chocs and roses (we are on honeymoon). A brilliant pool, amazing massage by Catherine, fantastic table service by Chris, discreet but present hosting by the joint General Managers and their team, but most of all, all the animal guiding expertise you could want from John Njoroge, with whom we saw unusual, rare and prolific nature about which he knew everything. Plus no weight gained due to fabulous healthy and delicious nosh that was grown on site! A dream place to end our trip.

Tortilis camp was an amazing place with a wonderful private conservancy allowing animal viewing without crowds. Also night driving. We loved everything about it. The accommodation was lovely and the food delicious. We enjoyed the elephants so much. They are just magnificent. It is so heartwarming to watch the families together. Plenty of other animals to check out and the whole experience is just wonderful. The lake is so full of life, you can literally spend hours there. Thanks to Candy and Graeme and all the fabulous staff who looked after us. A special giant thanks to our gold star guide Joseph whose knowledge is outstanding and so interesting. We will return again to this beautiful part of the world.

Hands down our favorite camp during our trip. Beautiful scenery, friendly staff, good food, and the management went out of their way to make sure all guests were happy. Everyone was so welcoming. We also appreciated that we got to see a variety of animals in the camp and nearby, but the camp itself felt very safe and tranquil. Wish we had spent more time here!

My wife and I stayed at the Tortilis Camp at Amboseli for two nights and greatly enjoyed our stay. We had private game drives twice per day with Martin (who was an excellent guide!) and, in spite of a long drought season, we were able to see tons of great wildlife including lions, elephants, buffalo, hippos, giraffes, hyenas, and dik-diks. The staff at Tortilis was very welcoming and attentive. The camp itself had a beautiful backdrop, especially for sunrise and sunsets, and the tent accommodations were generally nice. Food was pretty good, considering the nightly menus are limited to a couple of options per course, and the 'breakfast in the bush' was fun. My only comment is that the trip to the Maasai village was not very well described in advance and felt a bit forced upon the visitors.

Lovely place with excellent service. Game drives in their vehicle are overpriced. Overall a great experience

TLDR; I don't recommend this camp unless there is no better camps in Amboseli. This is considered a 5 star (luxury) camp. However, it didn't meet my expectations as similar to my stay in other 5 stars (luxury) camps. The manager welcomed us and stated that we need to tip the staff including the game driver. For me it sounded like they want to get as much as they can from you. We thought maybe it is a policy/practice in Kenya to say such things to the guests, but other camps/hotels don't do that! Anyway, the room was in a very good condition. It is clean and functioning as it should be. However, there is no hair dryer and no electricity outlet in the bathroom. The restaurant and the bar were just ok. You need to follow up and remind them daily if you have special requests. It seems they keep forgetting what you need to have. The laundry and housekeeping services are excellent. The camp can really push for a higher standard, but maybe the camp management lack the experience.

Overall a decent experience though not worth the expensive price tag. The rooms are decent, the food is ok (they try their best) and the service is hit and a miss. On numerous occasions I felt they have started to cater a lot more towards the American mindset and everything feels a bit oriented towards the tip culture. At an average $800-$1000 a night all inclusive package, one shouldn't even be thinking about this. The location and the park itself is amazing but the property and the overall stay at the resort felt a bit lack luster and lacking in soul and real hospitality.

Nice and small camp on the border of the conservancy and the park. Well laid out tents with all the amenities. All bathrooms have a double sink. Power is 24 hours. Nice and small pool. Most tents and the dining and loung have a clear view of Kilimanjaro on a clear day. Staff are friendly and ever willing to accommodate ones needs. Food is great. A must stay camp.

We spent 2 wonderful nights at Tortilis Camp. Everything about the camp was great. The property is gorgeous and the view of Kilamanjaro was second to none. Joseph, our guide, was extremely knowledgeable about the animals, birds, and plants. The food was excellent as was the wait staff. The tents were very comfortable. Thank you for a perfect visit!

Absolutely loved it here! The tents are very clean and so peaceful. So many thoughtful personal touches from candy left in the evening to goodbye gifts. The service is exceptional and everything is taken care of without even having to ask for it. Note that not all of the tents have the beautiful view of Kilimanjaro, but you can easily enjoy the view as much as you want from the dining area or other sitting areas. Also really nice restrooms in the tents. In the restaurant, the food was delicious and the staff was exceptional at making any requested customizations. We had some car troubles while here and everyone when above and beyond, calling a mechanic, helping push the car, and even giving us their personal number to call if we got stuck after we left. Can’t recommend enough!!
