So amazing to have a sandwich at Sandwich Harbour, and think of the history here, see the almost tame jackal that came for handouts, and then drive into the dunes. This is as far as we could go south on the beach before turning back and into the dunes. Further south is blocked off.

Walvis bay adventures in a land rover attempting to conquer 70 degree sand dunes. Jackals, seals cast us a wary look but go on with their business. A gecko was unearthed and passed around. The sand/ocean views are awesome and a desert lunch with wine just about sums up the trip.

Amazing. First dunes driving in my life, it’s exiting. I would say more, it’s first time I’ve got scared for 4 month trip in africa, after first dune it’s okay, your brain understand that’s it’s okay. Unbelievable views - sun+sea. Lilu chi in a desert. It worth it to come here, if you are in Namibia.

One of the most picturesque views of Namibia where giant sand dunes meet the ocean. An experienced local guide will know how to get through the beach during low tides and climb up to the dunes. If you want to self drive, make sure you do plenty of research beforehand and have a lot of similar off road experience (no cell signal out there).

Beautiful place with an amazing View from the dunes and directly at the sea. The place ist only reachable with a 4x4 and with a guide as it is an restricted area. Either a guided tour driving with the guide or self driving with your own/rental vehicle (which is a Lot more fun).

Absolutely extraordinary place. Far, far bigger than I ever thought possible -- if you are considering a 4x4 trip, it is absolutely worth it. Went out there to film some sunset timelapses and it was exceptional. Lots of different tour operators, do you comparisons on rates, but it is a worthwhile activity while in an otherwise pretty boring Walvis Bay.

Amazing destination! A must do when visiting Walvis Bay. Hire Photo Ventures to take a wonderful 4x4 tour of the area with knowledgeable staff and well maintained vehicles. Views are incredible and photography opportunities are everywhere. Plenty of wildlife to see as well! Make sure you run down the sand dunes as fast as you can in your bare feet to maximize experience!

Old peat banks. Evidence of original Kuiseb River delta thousands of years ago.
