11 members of my family stayed at De Baken for their holiday. They very much enjoyed it. The establishment is tastefully designed & decorated and the rooms are immaculate. It is a very good location, close to the lagoon, and at walking distance to the restaurants and activities. And the service is excellent.

Really loved the place. The owner is really lovely and helped us a lot with everything you can think of. The cleaning crew are amazing. Really respectful with you belonging. You feel like you are in your own appartement in a nice neighborhood.

We just love staying at De Baken. Just feels like home every time we stay there.

Im currently working in Walvis bay in the Oil and Gas industry, and currently stay here at De Baken. The rooms are amazing, created using 70% recycled building materials, old pipes, big log timbers, settees, tables, kitchen and bathroom and made from the materials as well. Absolutely beatiful place to say, beds are amazing and comfortable, and Staff are sometimes in the room twice a day to tidy up, the staff and manager are very friendly and you want for nothing, nothings to much hassle for them. There are also braii, bar-b-que areas at the side of the rooms, in all these are very very spacious, and all rooms have individual WIFI. Theres a security door, that you can open with a keyfob to get into the compound. Best place to stay while you are in Walvis bay, without a shadow of a doubt.!!

Very comfortable accomodation, with daily linen service and cleaning. Quiet location, walking distance to seashore, and restaurants. Lack of a pool would have been a five star rating otherwise.

Had a short two night stay in Walvis Bay but absolutely loved the apartment. Great location, cute touches and very attentive host! Would recommend and would stay again.

De Baken is simply incredible. It is truly a place that caters for holiday makers and business people. It is spacious and beautifully decorated and has everything I needed and more. I stayed there for two weeks and loved everyday. The service received was great, they are very friendly and helpfull. It is officially my favourite place to stay in Walvisbay. I highly recommend them and they easily deserve this 5 star rating.

De Baken was everything we wanted, I looked at several places but everytime I come back to look at the pictures. JP thank you so much for your friendliness. Our place was clean, it was quiet, and most of all we liked the privacy. We will definitely be back to try out the other rooms.

The cleanest place I have seen in Namibia. The interior is very well thought out, modern and cosy. There are light-motion detectors throughout the apartment so it's easy to go to the toilet at night. There are nice restaurants within walking distance (e.g. the Anchors) and the area feels safe. Beds were very comfortable and cosy. the only thing I missed was a hair dryer. At that time of year it was already quite cool in the morning. we will be back! For all, who are not sure to go to Swakop....stay in Walvis Bay. It will not dissapoint you and it is less Germam ;-) (I can say that, because I am one of them)
