If you’re passing by Swakopmund, this is where you’re staying! Amazing hosting team and beautiful common areas. Great prices and location. The owner also owns a pizza place inside the hostel that is really good. They gave me great tourist advice.

We booked and drove from Whk pretty late and agreed that they'd only book us in if we got there by 22h00. Terrible planning arrived at 22h30 and still got welcomed in. Our host waited for us and showed us around. A unique pass code for the gates and doors is given to guests for security. The rooms are equipped with a double bed and 1 or 2 bunk beds. The kitchen is filled with a microwave and stove for your own convenience. The showers are gender separated with super hot water. You won't see the beach from your window but it's about 300m away from the beach. I recommend it for a group that's planning to save on accommodation.

Lovely spot with comfy beds and good showers. Kitchen was great. Owners were reason I stayed as they went the extra mile to help everyone. Thank you! Plus their pizza restaurant attached is to die for. Possibly a tad over-priced considering no breakfast. Also hope you don't stay at the same time as a school group. Group itself were polite and generally quite quiet but they took over everywhere which made it more difficult to meet travellers.

We had a great time at the hostel with the staff. We felt very welcome and Leonie helped us out with every question we had and did all she can to make our stay as good as possible. The decoration and furniture is beautiful and well done. Even the beds in the dorm are all made out of massiv wood with very comfortable mattresses. Thank you!

My first impression of the city and the hostel were great. I initially would have given 4 stars (because of low WiFi limit). I wanted to extend my initial 3 nights to another week. Friendly employees and owners. Good kitchen. Place looked clean. WiFi daily limit is 150 mbytes. However, my first night I was severely bitten by bedbugs on my face, arms, neck, back, and butt. No matter how everything else is, if a hostel has this many bedbugs I'd avoid it. I stayed in the upstairs 19 bed dorm.

Even the biggest dorm felt like home! Very clean bathroom and wonderful kitchen. The staff is more than helpful and very friendly! Awesome place and for sure not my last visit.

We have been here for the past two years, becoming a culture now. Probably the most decent and cheapest place to live at while in swakop. Quiet place and relatively safe. Not pet friendly but allows for a relaxing time and quality time with family and friends.

We usually have an amazing stay at this backpackers, and have been at least 5 times. The last few times have made us reconsider our next booking though, which is sad. The pizza place next door is delicious, but the kids who come over to play while their parents eat make the atmosphere at the hostel almost unbearable. They were screaming, running all over the furniture, throwing balls at us while we eat dinner - it was awful. When asked to help, the hostel staff said their hands were tied. They tried to quiet the kids but they obviously had no effect when the parents sat idly by. The lack of toilet paper is also occasionally a problem, but we would still stay regardless of the TP situation. The kids on the other hand are hard to handle. I hope they fix this problem because otherwise this is such an amazing place to stay.

Backpackers like to located walking distance from town and most of the attractions like the Jetty. Decent clean facilities at good rates. Self service kitchen. There is a pizzaria on the premises which is nice. Does share part of an entrance with a casino area which is situated next door with a bar.

Nice enough place! Clean, relatively new, located walking distance from most points of interest in Swakop. It's a big place though so it can be a bit quiet and empty if it's not full up

At a lovely night in the soungarden one guest told me that the next night they have a nice music festival and guests who stay in the hostel saving the entry fee of N$200. So I ask the manager of soundgarden if this is true and she confirmed that if I stay with them I don't have to pay entry fee. So next morning I checked out of my current hostel for check-in into Swakopmund Backpackers. Nobody was there except for the cleaning personal, which does not know anything. After 15 minutes waiting the manager of the hostel came out and told me the place is totally closed for renovation and nobody would stay there at the moment. I asked him why the manager of soundgarden told me something completely different. He replied, that she doesn't has so much clue about the hostel. Even the guest from the night before told me he booked the room for serval days and has the whole dorm for himself... Really disappointing...
