Desert Sky Backpackers is an amazing place to stay while you are in Swakopmund, the only Backpackers in the centre of town which offers camping. Yolande and Betty are awesome people, friendly and always willing to help with any requests. They know alot about Namibia and made me feel right at home. Alot of Overlanders come to Desert Sky so it's a great place for meeting fellow travelers doing long trips. The laundry service is a very nice addition as well, would deffinately recommend and will stay again on future visits.

What a lovely camping site in Swakopmund close to the sea and the centre of the city! The camping slots are very well sheltered, the facility offers a comfy kitchen with everything you might need and it is located so that you can roam around the city by foot easily. And last and most importantly, it is managed by the most lovely hosts who will make sure that you enjoy your stay! Thank you very much again!

Awesome! Wonderful rooms, location and fantastic staff. Shower rooms had HOT water. It felt like home.

If you're looking for a beautiful, quiet and relatively cheap place to stay in Swakopmund, then Desert Sky Backpackers is for you. I stayed there on and off for about 5 months in 2018 and I absolutely loved it. The backpacker is within walking distance to the Swakopmund CBD and the beach which is very convenient. P.S. They have 2 dogs and a cat (they are absolutely lovely).

This is one of the best hostels I've ever been to: Everything is very clean, rooms are neat, the owners are super friendly and helpful and you get great value for your money! You can choose between camping, dorms and private rooms. Besides the hostel comprises a shared kitchen and bathrooms as well as a neat patio! The owner's animals (2 dogs and 1 cat) are charming and always demand attention from arriving guests :) If you're in town this is the place to be!

This place is good to stay in. It is clean and the staff are nice and helpful. The kitchen is spacious too. But the reason why i give just two stars is... because of the owner' s unfriendly and disrespectful attitude allthe time. I may get her wrong. . Because some of the reviewers said she is friendly. Anyway each person' s experience could be different. That is just how i felt during the stay

Went here on the low season, meaning that there weren't many people around. There's two dorms, one with 4 beds and another one with 8 beds. Also a few private rooms and camping. The place is very clean and well organized with nice employees and comfortable beds. The only negative side is that there wasn't hot water.

Perfectly located close to all shops, literally within walking distance. Close enough to the beach, like maybe a three minute walk. Rooms are in good shape and it's really affordable.

Lovely place to stay, near the sea, centre and supermarkets. Lot’s of free information. Free wifi, free coffee and tea all day. Big modern lounge room and full equipped kitchen. Enough space to camp on grass or sand. Love 💋 the cats and dogs very social and keep the bad guys out side. Beware of Suzy and Rusty 😉.

Lovely friendly and helpful people running the place. Very clean and spacious private rooms at a fantastic rate. Location was amazing and central. Would definetly recommend !

Very clean place with lots of space outside to chill, make a fire, barbecue and to go camping. The owners are very lovely and warm. They will go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. Highly recommend!
