Its the most beautiful square both during day and night. It looks like some royal square. During St Nikolas Day, there are light shows and beautiful decorations. This is the best time to visit to witness these beautiful decorations here.

If you're in Nancy, you have to come here. It is the centre of the old town, surrounded by centuries of history, great, very well-maintained buildings and part of the historic route. The gleaming golden portals leading in all directions give it a special flair.

Loved the vibe! The great square, the gorgeous gate, cafes and people watching. Every street leading to the square has plenty of restaurant choices and interesting shops. It's a nice area to walk as well as through the park.

Famous square surrounded by beautiful buildings and four golden gates. Don't forget to have some pastis on one of the terraces and to walk through the park that can be through the gate next to restaurant Michelangelo.

This is definitely a must go if you are in Nancy. It is just beautiful with the old town buildings and since it's the centre of the old town, there is a 15 minute long light show every night at 10PM.

Don't understand why people keep going to St Petersburg. It could never compare with what the Grand Est has to offer. We love Lorraine.

Place Stanislas is the major landmark of Nancy and one of the most beautiful squares in France, if not even all of Europe. There is no charge to enter the square and it is lovely to stroll. Many cafés and tourist shops can be found here. A visit should take at least 20 to 30minutes and you can easily spend more time exploring the area around. It is a major tourist attraction in Eastern France and UNESCO world heritage site.

No doubt it's a beautiful square and area, rich with history and epic architecture. However, the light show promised on 2 July was a major disappointment, as after 1 hour of waiting, there was no show. We got there early at 2215hr to get a nice seat, and it was supposed to start at 2245hr, but at 2315hr there were still hundreds of people, but not a peep of laser or light, so we left, along with many others. The organizers should have announced if there were technical difficulties or would be delays, but there was not a single announcement. Leaving viewers confused, cold and frustrated. I hope to return someday to watch this acclaimed Lightshow in the future.

Definitely a must visit when in that area. you can easily stay hours and look around at the gold plated astonishing buildings from centuries ago. There are Cafes to sit outside and enjoy a sunny day, the cathedral and a church in walking distance and a park to wander around. There is a parking garage near by, with really tiny spaces but def. worth while stopping there. There is also a Christmas market there so that is def. another great place to go during the Christmas season. So make sure Nancy is on your list of places to see in France

Beautiful square. It is very clean and well taken care of. It looks like it was build just yesterday, but it is there since more then 100 years. It has beautiful lighting at night. This summer there where beautiful lightshows on the buildings.

Stanislas has a significant importance in Nancy. It was classified as the favourite monument for France in 2021 and I will tell you why from my perspective: it is historical , big that it can host a parade in december, light show in Summer and winter, 'jardin éphèmere in October' and so much more events. There are restaurants/coffes/ museums/opera around this place. You can enjoy ice cream and delicious food or just sit in the chairs for people who came to admire the place/sun or lights. In special occasions, the lights of the buildings around Stanislas change like 'pink october, ..etc'. You can also visit 'hotel de ville' and enjoy the view from above.

Nancy, the temporary residence of a king without a kingdom – Stanislas Leszczynski, later to become Duke of Lorraine – is paradoxically the oldest and most typical example of a modern capital where an enlightened monarch proved to be sensitive to the needs of the public. Built between 1752 and 1756 by a brilliant team led by the architect Héré, this was a carefully conceived project that succeeded in creating a capital that not only enhanced the sovereign's prestige but was also functional. Wunderschöner Platz in Nancy.

An unexpected gem. Stanislas Square is beautiful, and even better at dusk or in the dark. Lots of restaurants and bars to sit down and savour the atmosphere.

Place Stanislas is impressive, royal, clean and friendly. It has an Austrian atmosphere with big light-colored houses in style surrounding it. Absolutely worthwhile to visit and discover other historic sceneries around Nancy

Beautiful architecture! This place is a must visit during both day and night. Completely different vibe, but both worth it. Recommend going earlier to find a good spot for the light show. Have your ice cream ready before the show! Enjoy :)

Beautiful square in Nancy. The square is traffic-free and you can take a lovely stroll. The fencing is beautiful and central to the square is the city hall. From the square you can walk to the opera house or to the park. Place de la Carrière is also nice to walk to.

A beautiful place, especially at night, when mystical illumination creates a unique atmosphere. The golden ornaments of the gates, fountains and lanterns create a specific and magnificent view of this large square. I was really charmed.

Probably the most beautiful square I've been to! It felt pristine and glimmering in gold, it seemed like it was out of a dream more than a real place.

It's an awesome place. Basically it is a square in city center. There are a parking near by. So coming via car is totally fine. It was build by Mr. stanislas in 17th century. There are many restaurants inside the square. There is a museum next to it. Plus there is a garden next to it.

What a beautiful place to visit...we visited on our overnight stay just outside the town The town itself looks like any other And then you come to this amazing centre... surrounded by these beautiful buildings...city hall..opera House and museum etc.. The whole square is pedestrianised so you can walk at leisure and soak in the beautiful surroundings... While having a coffee in one of the cafés Or you can explore in different directions. So much to see and enjoy... Beautiful golden gates... beautifully designed and painted fountain The triumphal arc is absolutely magnificent I noticed vendors selling ice cream. Crêpes and waffles just outside the square which seemed to be popular there are public toilets available here if you need...

Beautiful Place in Nancy. Gets very hot in middle of day, no shade. But the park with shady trees is close by.

If you're in Nancy, you must stop by this area. There is a central plaza & pedestrian area, a wooded park/path that ends at the ancient "portes" to the city. The plaza has been recently gilded and updated. Thirst or hungry? Lots of outdoor cafe's, restaurants, bars, crepieries, ice cream shops! Enjoy the day and night. Relax. There is a miniature train that will give a tour of the area for 8 - 10 euros. I recommend the train.

Check out the summer night time light show! Place Stanislas continues to be a beautiful sight to see and have a coffee, lunch, or dinner in the square. But now after dark enjoy a laser light show across the buildings. Grab an ice cream before or after the show.

A majestic Place in the charming Nancy. You can revive the ostentatious that marked the French monarchy and have a glimpse of their peak. Get the tour train from there for having a nice and informative trip to the most famous spots in town.

Beautiful example of a large European town square. It's so grand and decorative. There are a lot of cafes and restaurants in the square which created a great atmosphere. We sat in the middle of the square in the mid afternoon and enjoyed the sun and the buzz of all of the people running around, eating and talking. I especially loved the grand, curved, fences at each of the corners. Painted opulently in black and gold.

Visit to Nancy as a travel stop from Evian France to Rotterdam, Netherlands. Excellent place the square is amazing especially at night. We were luckily enough to catch a laser show in the square using the buildings as the canvas. Excellent show. 5 star
