#Nandankanan_Zoological_Park is one of the premier large zoos in India and was established on 29th December, 1960. The White tiger Safari and the Lion Safari was established in the year 1991 and 1984 respectively. The Herbivore safari was created in the Park in the year 2011. The newly created #Bear_safari over an area of more than 10 acres has been constructed under the financial assistance from 13th Finance Commission Grant. The design of the Bear Safari has been prepared by an Architect in consultation with zoo experts of the State. The total cost of establishment of Bear Safari comes to Rs.200 lakhs. The site for the bear safari was selected in a patch of natural forest situated adjoining to the Herbivore safari and Lion safari. The entrance gate of Bear safari has been specially designed to provide a natural look. The safari is surrounded with a boundary wall of 828m. length and 3m. height. The northern boundary of the safari has been earmarked with a moat ( over a length of 164m and a depth of 2.5m). The road network inside the safari spreads over a length of 505m. Provision of two water holes and feeding platforms have been made inside the safari area. Six feeding chambers and three back kraals have been provided for the captive bears. A treatment room fitted with a squeeze cage for treatment of the ailing animals has also been provided in the facility. The establishment of bear safari in Nandankanan is the third in the country next to Nehru Zoological Park, Hyderabad and Bannerghata Biological Park, Bengaluru

Nice and enjoyable place... this place is separated from the original park... Entry fee: Rs.50 per head for normal park entry + Rs. 15 for bear safari or Rs. 60 for entire safari experience... Only two to three bears are present currently...

The bear enclosure of Nandankanan which is the favourite place of children. You can find the bears anytime as they love to dwell near to humans & watch them. There is a hut like enclave inside the bear zone which is the shelter for the bears. Go & enjoy but keep in mind that never disturb the bears as they love peace ✌️✌️✌️

Nice natural place to visit... Elephant's riding very specious moment I have ever got there... Chandka Elephant Sanctuary (Odia: ΰ¬šΰ¬¨ΰΰ¬¦ΰ¬•ΰ¬Ύ ହା଀ୀ ΰ¬…ΰ¬ΰŸΰ¬Ύΰ¬°ΰ¬£ΰΰŸ) is a wildlife reserve located in the south fringe of cuttack in the Indian state of Odisha. Nestled on Khurdha uplands of the Eastern Ghats biotic region, Chandaka forest is spread over 175.79 square kilometres (67.87 sq mi) of rolling table land and small sprawling hillocks of Khurdha and Cuttack Districts. It was designated as an elephant reserve in December 1982.

Calm, serene, beautiful, breathtaking! There are only 4 elephants for your sight seeing! They are kept by the mahuntas! You can see other animals and elephants in the jungle too! The lake is just awesome! There is a watch tower too!! You can spend some time here to get away from the hustle bustle of the city! Don't go there in holidays! It's too crowded during holidays and winter vacation!

Nothing is there except 2 elephants and the entry fee is 40 rupees, if you go there do not waste your 40 rupees to see these two elephants. If you go for jungle safari then its OK, but you need to book either 8 seater or 12 seater safari vehicle, for 1 hour and 2 hours options are there, but in my view nothing is there to waste your money better to go nearby places there like derasa dam, jhumuks dam etc.

It's a dense forest which is very much closer to a busy capital. Still the facilities and approach by duty officers vlwere very casual.

Needs more details and information. Needs better guides. Something very interesting in Bhubaneshwar. Early morning walk into the woods. 5am to 9am is the best time to visit. 5km walk one way. Total of 10km walk. No food / snaking counter. No proper restrooms available.

Nice place to visit to see a kind of wild life and rich flaura and fauna. You may not see proper wild animals big definitely elephants, deers, birds etc. Inside a deep silence one can observe with chirping of birds and trumpet of elephants.

Best place for ecotourism in the outskirts of Bhubaneswar. The place is a vast stretch of forest with elephants, deer, fox, neel gaay and many other birds and animals. This is mainly famous for elephants. The place also offers jungle safari at a very affordable rate. It has a lake at the end of safari which offers serene view and picturesque nature. Some basic information: Distance from Bhubaneswar- about 25 km. Entry fee - Rs 40 (for adults) Rs 20 (for students with ID card) No entry fee for children upto 10 years of age. Jungle safari vehicle price: Rs 800 (for 8 seater) Rs 1200 (for 12 seater) You will have to book the entire vehicle. No single seat booking is done. So come in the groups to get the best price! There will be a guide along with you on the Safari who will really give you some interesting facts about the elephants and the jungle. It's a 'must visit' place for nature lovers! I recommend you to plz visit the place along with jungle safari atleast once especially if you are a city dweller.

Best time to visit this place is after 3 pm or before 8 am (if you want to actually see some animals). Else you can just enjoy the Trees, dusty roads, forest greenery, pond, etc except for any animals.
