Before ascending the Tringalwadi fort, one can encounter these Jain Caves on the route. Still in good shape, said to be Yadav Kalin. There are many statues and structure on walls and in surrounding which are disintegrated with time. The entrance door and windows are beautifully carved. The inside of cave is cool and calm. Huge sculpture is carved in wall in the chamber and it is written as the first Jain Tirthankara is residing here. The sculpture is also disintegrated. Before starting the trek, take a rest here, explore the place and its architecture then start ascending.

Very nice place located in the outskirts of Igatpuri. Good natural beauty and nice for medium level trecking. Best suited for monsoons. Nice greenery surrounding the area fully. Network issue is there in this area so either prefer offline maps while traveling and navigating or come in groups to visit and have fun of trecking.

Historical Jain caves are said to be 10th century's ancient caves. Located within sahyadri mountain ranges. Famous fort of tringalwadi fort is top on this caves. It takes 1 hour to reach to fort from caves. Very beautiful and enthusiastic to visit and study about this caves.

The Jain caves are built in a rock outcropping at the foothills of the fort. The entrance is decorated with a carved frame with pillars that are now disintegrated. The caves were excavated by the Yadavas, who ruled the Deccan region in the 12th and the 13th centuries with their capital at Chandradityapura (modern Chandor, District Nasik) and Devagiri (modern Daulatabad, District Aurangabad) (ref: An inscribed Jain Image from Daulatabad Fort, by M. N. Deshpande in Satabda-kaumudi (1954))

A 46 km ride from Nashik. A great trekking place for starters. A local guide is recommended in foggy days.
