Great location, as you are right on the beach and just down the road from a little supermarket. Rooms are fine and clean. Staff are very friendly and helpful. I wouldn't call it a hostel, but more of a hotel vibe. Food is ok, a little bland for more. They have lots of drink options available at the bar. I'd probably stay here again as it's beachfront and a good place to chill out for a couple days. There's a couple of great little hidden restaurants just down the road that you should definitely try.

Stayed here on two separate nights so experienced different rooms. Both had beds where the mattress provided no back support. Son found a chicken bone beside his bed. No hot water in one of the rooms (tried at two different times). Staff are lovely Fijians that do their best to welcome you. On the beach but also right next to the airport. Play for a stopover, I wouldn't stay here as the primary vacationing resort.

I've been to Smugglers Cove nearly every day for the last 3 years. Great place to stay, great accommodation, food, view, atmosphere. Fire dancing on Sundays. Love it. Highly recommended.

Stayed there in July 2022. The hotel is old and it shows. The staff there is very friendly and helpful. The beach was a disappointment - it is of black volcanic sand, which clouds the water whenever there is a slightest wave action BUT it is good for long walks :) Another thing to add is that cafes and the restaurant in all hotels there are working until very late. Unless you do not normally go to bed before midnight, do not book ocean view rooms :)

Music with deep bass goes very late into the night some nights and I could not fall asleep. Switched rooms but the new room had a window that when opened allowed everyone in the building next to you to see inside your room. Switched to the Ramada after the third night and it was 100x better in terms of cleanliness, privacy, staff friendliness and much more.

Nice place to stay very convenient, the views are amazing right on the beach. The rooms are a little dated and the hot water was mediocre, aircon was also a not the best. Staff are friendly and food was tasty and price was ok. Bed was comfy.

If you’re in a budget and just want to say you’ve been to fiji, then this place isn’t too awful but the pictures and description online are misleading. It’s more of a “motel” or youth hostel. We were severely disappointed when we arrived Staff were friendly and helpful for the most part, but beach and facilities were dirty. There were roaches around the kitchen and litter all over the beach. The beach is brown with dirty sand We cleaned our own room daily because room cleaning only comes in if you’re in your room to let them in when they happen to knock Wifi connection is awful and you have to pay for it There is no spa. They send you to their neighboring hotels to use the spa Food was dirty but also not good It’s definitely worth paying more to stay on one of the hotels in port denaru, which is what most people who come here end up doing

Didn't stay at Smugglers Cove just ate and drank there. Staff are all very friendly and happy to help. The downside would be the orders have all been wrong or don't even turn up at all. I tried the eggs Benedict one morning, came out cold with hard boiled eggs, no hollandaise sauce just a dollop of butter. There was a Fijian night that was pretty cool.

Below average. Okay if you are on a shoestring budget and wanting to get drunk every night. Door to the dorms can't be closed or locked so belongings are not safe and randoms can enter at any time. Staff were not the friendliest, rooms were not clean. The female/male dorms are not seperate rooms, rather just one seperated by a partial screen (so noise levels, not good). Also booked a 4 bed female dorm but were placed into a 12 bed dorm, and we were asked to pay again at reception despite paying in full online. Better places to stay for the same price one door down.

An amazing place for backpacker's. Stone throw away from the airport and great bula hospitality. When in Nadi, you could stay here. And overlooking the beach!!!! What else would you want now!

I was sleeping in the dorm room. Not too bad with air-conditioning for a good price. Nice small shop with good postcards and gift + office to book transportation and trips are integrated in the Hotel. The Public bus stops right on the same street if you're looking for cheap transportation

We stayed in the dorm - rooms were clean, quiet and comfortable. Location is right on the beach and had more atmosphere than most other hotels/bars in the area. We got to experience kava too, which was great. All of the staff were super friendly and helpful. Definitely recommend this place.

The service was abit slow but we were enjoying ourselves and overlooked it. Took awhile to get our drinks out. (The place was quiet and we ordered beers.) Breakfast was average. Beautiful beach right behind it and not a bad place to watch the sunset.

Good value for money but you get what you pay for. The rooms are nice enough with aircon and a private bathroom. Would recommend the private room with the balcony/sea view. The food was good but very slow service and some dishes came out lukewarm (seems to be common in Fiji). There are a few other hotels in the area but not much going on - we just stopped here before going to the island

In my opinion the best place to stay around Nadi. It is true that is not in the city center, but I definitely prefer to be next to the beach. One star off because the beach could be more taken care of it. It is more a hotel vibe than a hostel for basically the same price. Water is really hot, and during my stay NO BEDBUGS, so big plus. The organization is decent and restaurant a bit pricey but animations and service are good. The place looks really amazing and is literally ON the beach with free sunbeds, so perfect way to start or Finnish your stay in Fiji. I have taken one star because I booked it for the laundromat service that was completely unavailable.. When I will return to Fiji will stay there 100%.

Good location if you can't be arsed to travel far from the airport, I haven't heard a single plane. However, the food is sooo oily, and I really question the chefs ability to not cook in oil. Everything is swamped, and you don't feel satisfied after eating... In addition, WiFi is shocking, like terrible, I'm writing my review in my bedroom, and I have 1 to 2 bars at any given time it doesn't reach the tables and chairs closest to the beach and its actually easier to connect to the Ramada, if you have the password, cause its a much stronger connection. Considering the 2 hotels besides smugglers are owned by the same people you would have thought smugglers would be a bit better 🥲 service tho is amazing 👏🏼

I enjoyed my time here, food was delicious and tasty. There was one day where my coleslaw was a bit off, it was probably sitting out for a while, but they did make me a new one. The atmosphere is really cool, would come back.

The staff are what makes Smugglers Cove a place I'd happily come back to visit. They are kind, warm and go out of their way to ensure you enjoy your stay. The food was delicious and the cocktails a little too delicious. The rooms are a little tired but very clean and comfortable. If you are looking to put your feet up and relax, it's perfect.

Room was not ready had to wait for an hour but it was ok because we had lunch . Food was good . Room is tidy and water pressure in the shower was nice compared to other hotels I had been in during my time in Fiji . Receptionist was kind enough to organize taxi to airport for our early morning flight

  • 4/5 Jaime M. 10 months ago on Google
Super friendly and helpful staff. Basic rooms, and clean. Beach was ok, but it did have some garbage and broken glass on it when you walked away from the hotels, so they kept it clean in front of the property. I felt the food was expensive for the caliber of property, but this was the case throughout Fiji. They did offer good variety on the menu. Nice rooftop patio that was covered to enjoy the view. Loved the sunsets. Wished they had shade for the beach chairs. You have a bottle shop and small grocery store with a restaurant just down the road. If you need to go anywhere else it would be a taxi.

  • 2/5 Carter H. 10 months ago on Google
Hotel was okay and the restaurant is just a shambles I mean the lady at the bar said to please sit and someone would come over and take a drinks order after waiting 20 minutes. I mean what kind of bar turns away people asking for drinks?! Definitely go elsewhere if possible

I stayed in the mixed dorms, I enjoyed it quite a bit, not any privacy really but you have showers and bathrooms just for those staying in the dorm. Air conditioned, that was amazing. Beds were comfortable, staff were friendly for the most part, food was good, just VERY over priced. Location was great, went for evening swims in the ocean every night I was there and ended up booking it for my last 2 nights after staying there for 3 nights when I first arrived to fiji. About a 20min drive from the airport= $20 taxi. Met lots of other individuals traveling amd backpacking around the same age 20s-30s.

Great place to stay if you’re on a budget. They had a great fire show in the evening on Sundays and a small pool. The location is great because it’s close to the airport. The room was decent for the price you pay.

We stayed here for one night. And then moved on to Castaway. Look it’s ok but we did not realise that this area is a bit of a younger crowd. The ‘disco’ went on till very late which is fine and just goes to show I must be (finally) getting old. Great view of the sea. Beach is more dirt than sand and a few dogs follow you around as well.

I like the place even they didn’t give me the balcony room as I booked for balcony . They have not good management system but staffs are so helpful. Miss Ashley help us a lot. When kitchen closes she took us MCDONALD for food on her private car. She help us and our kids.

Your typical backpacker-type accomodation, but with a beautiful view (right on the beach), and it’s located in an area where there are a number of great restaurants. Rooms were small and had basic amenities. Affordable room rates. Staff were helpful. Very limited parking available. Need to pay extra for Wifi

Stayed in the mixed multi Dorm rooms, they are clean, well organised and beds are compartmentalized into groups of 2x bunk beds which gave some level of privacy. Aircon was a treat in the room. Downfall was transport to/from the hotel, it is isolated away from the main Street(too far to walk it) and have to rely on taxis which become costly after numerous uses. There is a public bus that occasionally passes by but not regular. But if your plan is to chill out and eat. Then you're in good hands! With other beach bars/restaurants along the same beach in the vicinity. The tourist help desk is also very helpful here, getting you the best value tours.

Right on the beach, this cost effective option was worth every dollar & more! Even though the pool closes early, about 18:00, the ocean is accessible and very warm. The food was good, quite affordable, and the wāhine only dorm room & facilities were tidy, cool, and secure. Will definitely use it as an option & be back. I didn’t use the taxi/airport transfer option, but the Ramada van is available to/from Nadi Airport. Not sure on the price, but $40-$60 RT is a generally good rule of thumb.

Smugglers is a great place to stay with plenty going on most nights. The pool is a good size and the beach is right outside which is great. You do need a taxi to get around or into town but everything you need is on-site except a laundry. Rooms are a good size and pretty clean and the staff are all very polite and helpful.

No hot water first morning. Felt like we were walking in to a backpackers. Very small room. Disappointed that i paid for an upgrade to an ocean view room as the room was small. Shower door didn't close so water over bathroom floor every time we used it. Poor that we had to pay for Wi-Fi per day per device and it was unstable so lost it often. Would never stay there again or recommend it to friends.

Stayed here for 1 night after getting out of quarantine. People are great the room was not the best, and is in need of an update. Bathroom was rough but it had warm water. The bar down stairs was good and the food really well done. Construction site was next door in April but should be all done by now.

We had dinner at Ghost Ship Bar and Grill at Smuggler's Cover several times. The food and the service is so good, but the very best is the phenomenal sunsets. They even had the most wonderful fire show. What a fun experience. BULA

I stayed here two times in the same trip, first I took the hostel shared rooms, quite good but there wasn't A/C (with Fiji's weather is kinda crazy), then when I was back here I took a Superior Room with A/C and then everything was much better. I liked the experience to stay here and there are a few places where to go at night, like other beach pubs and a Supermarket a few blocks away.

Affordable accomodation right next to the beach. The staff are very friendly, understanding, helpful and hard working therefore a very big Vinaka to the staff at Smugglers Cove, you guys are doing a great job. This hotel is well kept and clean. Smugglers cove is family friendly. I would highly recommend this place to family, friends and tourists.

Great location, good quality cheap food both here and nearby however the rooms are dated. We didn't have hot water in the shower or either a remote for the AC or TV. Staff are very friendly and location is great only a $25 cab ride to the marina

  • 2/5 Freddy B. 1 year ago on Google
Room smelled of cigarette smoke, very noisy from work being done in the rooms. Also very dated. Looked dirty and very very tired. I wouldn’t have stayed there if it wasn’t close to the airport. Great staff however. Very helpful and very friendly.. The view was awful too

My review is for the female dorm! Pros: Staff was absolutely wonderful and kind! Close to the airport, perfect for a short stopover for a night. Right on the beach with a beautiful sunset. They had air conditioning. And there is a veeeeery early (7:00am) morning bus you can catch for free to the marina. Hot showers. Great place to meet people as well. Good spot for a night or 2 Cons: The room didnt lock, so it didnt feel secure leaving anything out, that also meant anyone possibly could walk in. It wasn’t the cleanest. Food was also pricy imo, especially water. Definitely go down the street to the little store for water/snacks/alcohol. Good spot for a night or 2!

This place was great especially for the price but the description was a lot of lies. I booked on booking com but hostelworld had the same info. Said free wifi, there is no free wifi and the paid wifi does not work outside/back patio. Also said free airport transfer to the hostel also not true it's 15FJD each way or I was told 18 if you want a taxi. The staff is very friendly and helpful which makes up for all the misinformation but really it should be corrected as everyone who booked there was expecting free wifi and was shocked when told it wasn't free. Pool closes at 6 and I wasn't there during the day to see if the free kayak use was true or not.

I booked with awesome adventures Fiji an arrival and departure package. I cancelled the departure package, but the hotel made a mistake and cancelled the arrival package. I booked a 4 person dorm room and there was only availability in a 12 person dorm. I did not agree with that because it was their mistake. It was also very clear that is was the fault of smuggelers cove because I got a message from awesome adventures Fiji a few days before confirming that I had the arrival package and it still took them more than one hour to apologize and confess that it was their fault. They were unfriendly and unhelpful even it was their fault. Would never recommend staying there and I ended up staying somewhere else where the staff is a lot more friendly and helpful.

Good for the price. I was in a large bunk bed room, it's crowded but it was clean and quiet, perfect for an overnight. Aircon working well and blankets are available. 4 stars because WiFi is an extra $5 :(

Blended music from two hotels made it difficult to relax at night. Too loud!! Late check out request was met with mixed answers . We were not told that after check out and having to wait hours for our planned airport departure that there was a room available to shower and change if we had went for a swim while waiting to go to the airport. All round the staff was very friendly and personable.

🫤 Very basic room with very basic shared facilities, this is the picture of the beach, it’s so gross and dirty and I would not want to swim in it, has a very small pool, quite crowded, lots of people around, good for saving money. So disappointed with the beach, not like the pictures at all, need some...
