Nice and deep forests. Hills are beautiful too. I have not been to a forest as beautiful for a long time...this was perfect. A major tourist circuit. So all amenities are available at all budgets . Friendly and affordable place to visit. No 5 star accomodations though.

Very green and amazing flora and fauna. Really unique geological setting.. reminded us a little of kintamani Thailand. But after 50 countries it all starts to looks the same πŸ˜…. Definitely recommend the Bamini falls hike. Come prepared with some decent shoes to go down the falls and check out the amazing views of the lake.

I have visited this place many times. This is an amazing place to visit. We hardly get to see such serene beauty close to a big town. There are many natural waterfalls to see here. A visit in the winter or during the monsoon is best. Many hotels to stay here which is very clean and the food is also good

Awesome place, beautiful area. Healthy environment. One can see good portion of forest as well as hill. Good to visit a spot within a short time. Nice nature with fresh oxizen. Food you can get from food stalls and few permanent shop on top of the hill even. Vally, nature, beautiful treas and santhal villages are just awesome.

Ajodhya hills are on the eastern fringes of the Chhotanagpur plateau, in the Purulia district of West Bengal. The landscape is breathtaking and almost the entire range is motorable. There are a number of dams and reservoirs that add to the scenic beauty. Tribal villages and their traditional culture hold the greatest surprise. Visit anytime (except the peak summer months), and stay in any of the eco-resorts.

Ajyodhya hill & forest reserve area. Best tourism area in this district. Here many places to visit like laharia Shiva temple, upper dam ,lower dam,Ram temple, bamni falls, marble lake, sitakunda, tea garden etc. The roads for bikers is risky but peacefull for rider.beauty of nature's are awesome. Many people come here to visit these beautiful places especially in winter. Many of them come for picnic and also like to stay here. If you come here I am sure you will not disappoint or dissatisfied in ajyodhya. And in the rainy season you will see the clouds too near to touch on the upper dam. Once we are experienced that glorious moment which i never forget.

Ajodhya circuit of Purulia district will mesmerize you by it's beauty. Rugged landforms with lush green vegetation, hills and lakes, waterfalls, reservoirs - is a treat to the tourists. The places you must visit if you are in Ajodhya are- Sugarcane fields, Ajodhya hill top, upper dam, lower dam, Bamni falls and Marble Lake. There are numerous hotels to stay in Ajodhya. It is a perfect weekend destination from Kolkata. You can reach Ajodhya by train. Black diamond express leaves from Howrah at 6:15 am.

Bamni Falls are good for to get a quick bath in Hot summer 😍 Loved this places. Hotel fair was accordingly okay 1000 for two people Non AC. Fooding issue is there as the place is developing till yet. Will visit again in sometime

I visited the place during December and the place is so much better than I expected. The place is 2 hrs from Purulia town. And there are constant bus services to Ajodhya Hill Top. The place doesn't have shops, the local snacks and stuff are available. So it is advisable to bring your essential stuff from the town. The place is smack dab in the middle of nature's lap. As I visited during the winter time, it's very chilly too. Temperature can dip till 11-12 degrees Celsius at night. All in all, it is an amazing g place for peace and nature lovers.

  • 5/5 KATHAMRITA M. 2 years ago on Google
I personally sujjest you to visit this place... It's better than any other hill top... During spring a lots of palash flower blooms here and it looks so so beautiful... There are two dams.... Charida village is there for purulia chau masks.... And the whole hill is amazing...

Ajyodhya hill and Purulia natural Reserve Forest is always main tourist attraction of this spot. From geographical point of view it's originally a part of Chotonagpur Decan Pleatau and Ajyodhya is highest peak among others terrain like Sushunia, Biharinath, Mama Vagne pahar, Mayur and Baghmuni hill etc. The land type is rocky and soil type is Laterite or Red soil. At monsoon the lap of the hills is totally greenery view, so in rainy season has a different scenic beauty of nature.

  • 4/5 amritendu p. 7 months ago on Google
Revisited Mayur Pahar after 15 yrs. The area did not develop at all economically and locals remain poor even after the 'change' in power in West Bengal. A lot of kids beg for either food or money - does not give a good message to visitors. Outsider hoteliers and transport agencies are making fortune over them. However, roads are better than earlier times. More of tourists further breaking the eco system of nature.

  • 5/5 Maitrayee S. 2 years ago on Google
It was a wonderful experience visiting there in the lap of nature. Many dams along with hills make the place more attractive. Lots of trees like sal, segun ,palash, acacia, mahuya etc make the place a must visit for nature lovers.

If you love forests and the calm atmosphere of this then you must go to visit this place. The serene beauty of the entire Ayodhya hills and it's people will captivate your heart if you are a peace and beauty lover. It's the heaven for birding. You have to spend a few days in the jungle to capture the tiny beauties of nature. The smell ,the air ,the greenery will be unfolded to you more if you are an early riser and if you walk in the jungles(daytime). Do visit and relax your eyes. Also try to keep the calmness and hear the sounds of the forest in the night. It's not place to drink and party but to enjoy the serene nature.

This place known as Pakhi Pahar contains numerous intricate carvings on rocks, of birds, hence the name Pakhi, made by the eminent Chitta Dey. After drawing outlines, he drilled holes along the outlines and then painstakingly chiseled away the rocks to create the images. One cannot but marvel at these intricate carvings and the huge energy, patience and effort required for this.

It was just awesome.. Whenever you be there you will find lot's of Beauty. If it is winter there is a view.if it is summer that is also a different view.if it is spring that is also different views. But from my point of view Rainey season is the best time to visit the nature. But in spring time like in the month of March you can find the place is red,due to the loveable "PALASH" flowers.
