This is an A class restaurant serving Chinese food in South City Mall 3rd Floor. One of the firsts of the Speciality Group to make its name almost a decade ago when it first opened. And it has maintained it's high standards ever since If you are looking for a place to dine in for lunch or dinner for any event or party, this will be an excellent option to choose. I have visited this place more than a hundred times for sure in the last 15 years. And have had a great experience every time. They have both Buffet and Alakarte options to choose from. Recently I went and they have introduced a new menu for the Chinese New Year of the Rabbit. Tried many dishes from the new menu and they were quite good. Like: ✨Hunan Chicken in Clay Pot ✨Fried squids ✨Seafood Dimsums Also had ✨Seafood Eight Treasure soup ✨Pan-fried Noodles in white Cantonese sauce, which is my favourite dish of all time. Overall rating- 4.8/5

Really good restaurant and nice ambience. Lived up the hype and professional service. Each dish was cooked to perfection. We really loved them. We were so engrossed in the food that forgot to take the pictures. Very much popular and they have both a la carte and buffet option, which is really helpful for people to decide. Would highly recommend.

Mainland China never disappoints in any city. The best restaurant to go for Chinese cuisine served with warm hospitality. Tried their non-veg lunch buffet, the menu had soup, salads, 5 starters, 5 maincourse and desserts. Except for the desserts, all other items were served on the table which was very convenient. Loved the clear soup, honey mustard fish starter, chicken suimui, stir fried veggies. The brownies, custard and darsan for desserts were great. The service and ambiance were great. Overall the experience was worth the money.

Visited it recently, this is my second time there. Last time there were a few more items, like the crab. The buffet was okay. I don't usually like soups, but their chicken coriander soup was quite delicious. Fish items were very tasty and their kimchi was amazing. I didn't quite like their double fried lamb. The desserts had a lesser variety but were good. Darsan with ice cream tasted great. Staff was very friendly and enthusiastic. Overall, food quality is a bit above average. Hospitality is great and ambience is also quite nice.

Mainland China is one of my favourite for Sino Chinese food, fresh Bhetki & gravy vegetable chowmin is top in white sauce. Bar menu is quite exotic.

The place is extremely spacious and all the sanitation protocols are being rigidly maintained. The service is very good and the staff is polite and helpful. There are separate washrooms for men and women inside the restaurant which are clean and well-maintained. Coming to the food, we opted for the Non-veg lunch buffet which cost Rs. 900 per head without Gst. The starters were tasty, and they even provided a boneless chicken dish since I couldn't eat the chicken drumsticks. The fish was fresh. The main course was pretty good too, with the fish being especially good. The food is light but extremely tasty. Loved the deserts, mainly the brownie and cheesecake. Overall a nice experience, would surely visit again!

Situated in the South City Mall. We were 9 people. The ambience was nice. We took a weekday buffet. The cost was Rs.1075+GST. Service was good, Food was nice. The items should be revised. The taste was good, all the items were almost non spicy. But according to the food, the price was too high. We can get a good buffet in the lower price range also. Mainly China's standard dropped a bit. But for any family outing, get together, you can surely visit them.

Best for the buffet! The food was delicious, tasty 😋. Plenty of non veg and veg options available. The desert section was overwhelming . Everyone was in a festive mood and a little crowded, we had to wait 2 hours to get the table. The management system is good. 🚽🧻✔️ 🎼✔️

Nice ambiance. Housefull in a weekday is pretty good to see but food options in buffet are limited and tasteless . We have spent Rs. 1000/- pp and it was just waste of money. Please try for the ala Carate menu or elese you will get the same treatment. Few food options only . Fish starter is very poor . Baby corn is good . Chicken starter is very avg. Palak fry was awesome must try also chicken dimpsum was good , soup is avg . In mains - only egg noodles tastes good , rice is pretty ordinary. Other main course items are noting great ,excluding sea food ( prawn in white sauce) .. Though Deserts were better, brownie is good .

Food quality is extremely poor and disappointing. Any small food joint of china town will deliver far better quality of food. Service is also poor...Didn't bother to pour mineral water in glasses... Wash basin is dirty...Water stopped suddenly...When informed...All staffs are callous about this. Overall not recommended.

I am a great fan of Chinese food and for authentic Chinese there is no other destination but Mainland China. It is super deluxe fine dining restaurant with great quality and taste of food with sufficient quantity. It is a family restaurent, should.be visited for having great food. It is there at third floor of South city mall at Prince anwar shah road near to 8B busstand. In normal day there is no waiting. They also serve non veg buffet @1195 on weekends with 7 8 types of items and desert. If you really want great food, go for ala carte with group of friends. Take multiple items and taste each of them. The without mocktel will be less than 800-1000 per head. Again it is the best place to have Chinese. Go o weekdays to have best taste.

Finally I got to visit. We didn't go for the buffet. We chose A-la Carte. Started with Thai style Chicken dumplings large steamed, which tasted really good, specially complementing with the chili oil. the stuffing was good and thoroughly cooked. Recommend. For the mains we went for Cantonese chicken Rice noodles with Chili basil fish. Hands down to the combo and the taste of the basil fish made it worth. Fish was fresh and sauce tasted amazing. The staffs are very generous, kept asking if everything's fine. Food came in time, didn't have to wait much and portion was more than enough for 2 people to finish. Had a great experience.

Buffet experience was average. Though ambiance and staff behavior was good, but to be very frank we did not like the taste of the main course items. None of the gravy sauces were up to the mark on flavor profile except prawn in black pepper sauce. Crab was served with shell on which is a disaster in main course, you can't expect people to dig in with their hands! Starters were mostly good especially the drums of heaven and chicken dumpling. Would expect better flavors from the chef at such reputed restaurant. Non veg buffet costs 1075 + tax.

Had a great Chinese Dinner @mainlandchinaindia. The ambience had a traditional Chinese got up and staff behaviour was extremely warm and welcoming. Items Ordered: 1) Cantonese Rice Noodles (Chicken) - (515+ tax) Rating 5/5. The best Rice Noodles tasted. It had lots of chicken and shredded vegetables in it. Both the quantity and quality were good. 2) Prawns in smoked chilli sauce - (695 + tax) Rating 5/5. It had 5-6 pieces of big sized prawns in house smoked chilli sauce. Tasted amazing. Complimentary kimchi salad was also served. Overall a great experience. Do visit this place once if you want to try authentic Chinese delicacies.

Decided to celebrate my birthday here, so we went in for lunch. every dish tasted absolutely amazing, no complaints there. The taste is worth the price. I'd suggest going in a little early because it's always crowded. We went on a Saturday afternoon and there were no tables empty. We opted for the a la carte but they have a buffet going on always and that is pretty good too. Since it was my birthday they also offered a complimentary cake and that was quite good as well. All over a very good experience, would definitely recommend.

The Mainland China buffet has been a constant once a month visit with my whole family for years now. Really love the food and how consistent it’s been. I love the staff and the generic wooden chinese vibe interiors. The starters are an absolute dream. I eat a ton of salad and kimchi and dikon. The stirfried prawns are heavenly and so are the baby potatoes and chicken drumsticks. The dim sum and soup are always yummy too, and you must add the chilli paste and spring onion oil to them for a perfect bite. The mains have got a spread of gravies from hunan to chilli sauce to burnt garlic butter to sweet ones. The crab is my favourite and I make a bit of a mess when breaking the bits apart but that’s the fun part. The desserts always have sweet darshan and 4 ice cream flavours which are yum, along with a bunch of tiny pastries, fruit and a special item. We went today and they had a rum soaked Xmas cake. You get options of 1 coke or sprite with your food if you opt for the buffet, and unlimited cups of jasmine tea. An absolute must visit when you hit Calcutta.

Tried the buffet of Mainland China. Has 20+ items. This place serves one of the best indo-chinese food in kolkata. The buffet is quite good but not excellent. Some dishes could be better with thinner batter coatings. Dessert and starter sections are very good but main course has room for improvement especially considering the price of the buffet. Buffet is priced at ₹1045/- + tax. Would like to see some variety in main course dishes.

Excellent ambience and quality service....Crab and prawn in the buffet menu are a must try. For dessert, go for Darsaan if you happen to have a sweet tooth.

Tried their buffet. The taste was somewhat above average, not extraordinary or something. All the items were non-spicy, a great place for light food lovers. The main course section was great compared to the starters & dessert sections.

Mainland China, no doubt is one of the best fine dining restaurants, but when it comes to buffet, the taste is just average. during weekends, the place gets crowded and noisy. waiting time varies from 20 -30 min. Whe you enter from lobby to waiter and manager will push you for Buffet. If anyone wants quantity and variety @1100+tax, it's a good option, but need to sacrifice the best authentic Chinese expected from this restaurant. There is no discount on the buffet. one interesting fact is whatever language you speak from waiter to manager they will respond only in Bengali. They must understand this is not a Bengali restaurant but an international standard, and there should not be a language barrier .

I was so amazed to see the quality of food has been degrading day by day. Not happy with the food quality. Previously it was top notch. The service has been provided by the staffs are good. Decent and nice ambiance.

Mainland China Buffer is a must try. Go ahead for it. It’s crazy value for money. It’s a childhood favourite for me, and I keep going again and again. They have maintained their quality really well. Undoubtedly the best Chinese food in town.

Food is very light and healthy at the same time tasty most importantly they mentioned the calorie intake for each item that is great for health conscious people like me. What I missed some background Chinese music. We really enjoyed the food and overall ambience. Staffs are so professional well behaved and cooperative . Yeah little bit costly but for special day you will not regret. There dumplings are just too good. I have tasted Chinese food in many restaurants but yes mainland china is the best Chinese restaurant according to me. You can capture beutiful pictures also the outside background is perfect for that. Just go for it. Enjoy life enjoy good food.
