6 Ballygunge Place is one of those elite restaurants where you can enjoy traditional Bengali cuisine. Multiple branches opened in South & North Kolkata and New Town. A bit pricy but worth it. Specially Gondhoraj Chicken is one of the best starters. Polao and mutton is the best combo. My wife’s favourite is their Dub Chingri. Try visiting this restaurant during weekdays as huge rush can be found in the weekends which might also effect your taste buds. Food : 5/5 Ambience : 5/5 Taste : 5/5 Staff Behaviour : 5/5

Located at Sector 1, this place serves amazing Bengali cuisine in Kolkata. Price is a bit high here but I think it’s worth it. There are some unique dishes that can only be found here. On occasions, the crowd remains relatively high and you have to wait outside. Buffet option is available. I don’t know about other outlets but staff are a bit hasty in service. This might be due to rush on some occasions but I think this should be avoided in order to retain its good name. Overall I would like to rate this place 3.9 out of 5.

One of the best Bengali restaurant in Kolkata This place is famous for bengali dishes Restaurant has pure bengali food menu. Vegetarian and non-vegetarian food items to choose from. Buffet option has good spreadout including fish, chicken, mutton items. Prices are mid range. Staff are courteous. Overall, worth a visit for enjoying bengali style cuisine. Overall, if you love authentic Bengali food, this is the place. It never disappoints.

I am giving two stars just because of food quality. This branch is lacking the soul i.e Behaviour. To my surprise, even we had booked the table they kept us waiting in the reception area telling that all the tables were booked. We witnessed the customers going up and we were made to sit in the waiting area.as we protested then they allowed us. As they were allowing people on 'priority' basis or on reference basis. Speaking of food, yes all the items from fishes to mutton were delicious. When we started our dessert section, again they rudely asked us whether we had finished or not. All they were attending a party of 10people on two reserved table . I really don't understand why there is a so called birthday party going in buffet area ?! The buffet area is small and on top of that they are allowing such a thing. If they decide to do so the area should be big and have a proper management which was missing here. I did not even took pictures of food since the start was so bad. All I am going to say that I am not going to visit this branch again. Really disappointed due to their behaviour.

Interior is beautiful. Staffs are polite. We ordered Chandannagar fried fish, Debi Choudhurani mocktail, Galda chingri chiney kebab, Paratha and dhakai kalo bhuna mutton. Waiting lounge was very spacious. Washroom is clean. Serving time should be more quicker.

6 Ballygunge Place is one of the most famous restaurant in town. The food is tasty band cheap , the servants are also very friendly or co operative , I like this restaurant nice facility or good service. Spent with your family nd friends or life partner. Every time I visit this place, I get 5 star experience, very great place nd great ambiance nd decorations are composed or cleanliness is well mentioned. Price were very high but food taste yummy in my tummy, vegetarian food, non vegetarian food, fast food etc.. For dinner or lunch it is a good place must go everyone at least once.

Where to start I don't know. I was lucky that my family planned for aiburobhat at this resturant. The food, ambience and service was impeccable. If you want to taste authentic bengali (bangal) food this is a must visit place. Although this is newly opened branch but I didn't have anything to complain compared to their main branch. Upon knowing the special event, they gave us complimentary fries which are part of the custom. They also greeted us with refreshing welcome drink, sort of pinacolada. There speciality is kosha mutton, dab chingri but you can order anything and you won't be disappointed. Definitely, there is rush during the peak hours so make your reservations accordingly otherwise you might have to stand in the queue.

One of the best in the city. We went to the Salt Lake area outlet. It is iconic. It depicts a woman's life in different ways. You will get typical Bengali food. Bhetki fish fry was delicious and crispy. Veg food is also good. They don't have a big menu but whatever items they prepare are all authentic cuisines just like their old outlet in Ballygunge.

Cozy place with fine dining. They serve authentic Bengali cuisine which blew my mind. We opted for non veg buffet which was pretty good in terms of the number of dishes it included. Food taste was also okay except few items including Mutton and chanar Dalna which were so average. Staffs are so attentive and well behaved. Must visit once

What can be reviewed about an iconic eatery!! Ambiance is typical bengali with an old world charm. We enjoyed non veg buffet @899/- . Mutton and chicken was not upto the mark. Rest everything from dal to echor ar dalna to chutney to fish everything was awesome. Rosogolla was amazing. It's quintessentially bengali restaurant go visit any of their outlet with friends and family

6 Ballygunge place is my go to place for authentic Bengali cuisine cravings but this branch was kind of disappointing only because of the mutton kosha they served was hard and smelled stale else rest of the items were phenomenal. We ordered mangsho chop, mushroom cheese stuffed bhetki fry, gondhoraj ghol, mangsho polao, bhetki kalia and nolen gurer ice cream which were all very delicious. I expect this outlet to keep up with their brand reputation. Rest the staffs were warm. But other outlets like Newtown,Sec V the staffs are better. The ambience is top notch. I wish to re visit again and re edit my review after they improved in the areas I mentioned above. Good luck team!

This is Salt Lake outlet of 6 Ballygunge Place. The location is good and is accessible by cabs and autos. Its a well decorated place with vibes of authentic bengali architectural marvel. The place has adorned with pictures and paintings of famous Bengali characters. The restaurant has a decent space for dining. The chairs are adorned with characters from the Bengal history. We were 2 and had gone for dinner. During weekends, I would recommend to pre-book the seats as the place can be crowded. We had ordered the below items for dinner: • Fish Fry • Grilled Fish • Plain Basmati Rice • Daab Chingri • Mutton Kosha All the items were excellent in taste and the quantity was more than sufficient for 2 people. The attitude of the staffs were extremely polite and gentle. Their service was excellent and worth mentioning. In short, it was a great experience and I would visit the place again soon.

Great experience with great food. We had Fish Kabiraji and Prawn Cutlets as starters. Prawn cutlets were delicious. For main course, we had radhaballavi and cholar dal, rice, chitol muitha, bhetki paturi and mutton er jhol. For dessert we had baked mihidana with rabdi along with aam porar shorbot and ghol. All the items were delicious.

Place serves authentic bengali cuisine. I visited the Saltlake DD Block branch. The place has a nice ambience and clean appearance. The most important thing is the food. So let me divide the review in Pros and Cons. First the Pros. Food quality and taste is great. We ordered Fish Fry as Starter, by god, we had to repeat the order. This Bhetki fish was of super quality. Daab Chingri was beautiful and the Bhuna Mutton was delicious. So, it is obvious that anyone who only cares about very good quality and tasty food will enjoy here. Now let me speak neutrally what appeared to me as a bit negetive. Firstly, the space is small for hosting both buffet and a-la-carte tables. The manager pushes to go for the buffet but a-la-carte is the real fun. The menue is completely different. Secondly, the charges are quite high considering the quantity of portions they serve. People will get an idea what I mean, I had to shell out Rs. 5200/- for 3 adults (one of us was 62 years old lady) and 1 girl child (11 years). Yes I know that food quality is great but still I have visited other quality places where the same amount of good food will cost around Rs. 3500/- Lastly, some of the waiting services were a bit confusing. By God!! They served Luchi-Bhuna Mutton BEFORE Musuri Dal - Steamed Rice. They surely need to review their food serving priority. The above points, specially the high price against small portions made me rate them 4 stars rather than 5. P.S. I had to park my car almost on the road..

Good service. Good ambience. Food is OK and that's about it. Nothing special about the taste as better quality food can be had at much lesser prices in other places.

Awesome place for foodies. They serve authentic bengali dishes. And being a Bengali I can assure you that you will love their food. The footis prepared fresh and you will get the authentic taste. The ambience is also nice with slow music in the background with a courteous staff. For starters we had fish fry which was awesome. The chicken was flavoufull and tender. The posto bora that is dumplings of poppy seeds is a must. You can take your whole family and you won't be disappointed. Only the drawback is it on the bit costly side but the food is worth every penny.

The food quality is delicious, no compromising with the standard of the food, absolutely praiseworthy. And in this pandemic situation they are maintaining proper precautions like sanitizing the seats and tablets, using paper made plates and bowls and sanitizing wipes. So the whole thing is impressive for me.

Want to indulge yourself in lipsmacking authentic Bengali cusienes, this is definitely one of the best places that you can visit in Kolkata. The food is extremely delicious, place is super hygenic, super courteous staff, awesome ambience. I'll definitely recommend you to visit this place if you're around this place or going towards airport and have some time for lunch. I did the same while going towards airport and trust me I never felt so happy before.

This was our first time trying out authentic Bengali cuisine and we loved it. The staff here was polite and they even suggested us some awesome dishes to try out. In starters we ordered Murshidabad grilled chicken and Chhana motorshutir chop (paneer stuffed cutlet). For main course we ordered Jhur jhure aloo bhaja, Bhetki jhol aloo phulkopi diye, Desi murgir jhol and rice along side. It costed approx 2300 rs. For four people.

I have been obsessed to try local food in kolkata during my trip there. I was a bit disappointed when I got here as the food was not like I expected. Oily and not as tasty as I thought local food should be. I am sure there are better places and I would like to explore other places next time I am there.

Went to explore some Bengali delicacies. Not only did they serve authentic and delicious Bengali food but also displayed great hospitality the way I'd love to remember any local from any place. Ashish Sen and Reshmi also guided me through the menu and cared to explain in detail. The ambience was great too. Overall a great way to remember Bengali cuisine and hospitality. Kudos! Keep the good work on, forever.

A very fine Bengali cuisine with ethics and flavours coming right from the origin. One of the best places for a dinner or a lunch. I would love to give 4.7 star as the dish, 'Bhetki Macher Paturi', had excess mustard. This was actually because I am a non Bengali. As per an actual Bengali, it was just fine. Also, the billing took around 10 mins after the buffet which is actually a long time. However, you might want to relax in this 10 mins. The staff were responsive and precautions were not ignored to prevent the spread of the Corona virus. Overall, a must visit if you are living in Kolkata and you love Bengali cuisine. Outstanding place.

Nice place for get together with family and friends. I liked to take Bengali traditional food items here. Staffs are very much co operate and friendly. I observed that senior family members who came along with their family got difficulties to walk upstairs as there is no elevator here. No wash room also available here in the 1st floor area. Again any Bengali senior person who engaged his or her right hand to take food and after the meal he or she must move to ground floor for washing. In thar case he or she can't hold stairs hand railing as his or her right hand is not clear after taking food. Please look into the matter.

Ambience : 4/5 Food Quantity : 5/5 Food Quantity : 4/5 Pocket pinch : 400-500 per head Serving time : ~15 minutes Opening time : 12 noon Location : near Kalyan Jewellers, City Centre 1 Cleanliness : 5/5 Service : 5/5 Both buffet and a-la-carte available. Amazing place ! We had ordered : *Chicken er chop (4 pcs per plate) *Luchi *Mutton Kosha (5-6 pcs per plate) *Aloo bhaja *Sona moong dal *Sukto *Bhat (enough for 2 person) *Dabh chingri (9-10 pcs per plate) *Bhetki paturi (2 pcs per plate) *Baked mihi dana sandesh *Nolen gurer ice cream (1 scoop) Loved loved loved each and every item. The food was light, flavourful and fresh. If you are planning to organise Aiburobhat for someone, just order the items and ask them to prepare a separate aiburobhat platter out of the items and they serve the food in a beautiful kasha r thala and bati (brass plate and small bowls). The service was excellent. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Proper hygiene and sanitation was being maintained. The bathroom was also very clean. The bhetki paturi and dabh chingri were particularly very tasty. The quantity of each item is adequate for two people to share.

It would not be a very good place for a veg person but for a Bengali cuisine it is a must visit place. Also it's budget friendly with sound ambience! Staffs were very courteous.

Have visited on multiple occasions, food is now getting much much better than its earlier days though still needs to improve...mostly "bangal" cuisine but you will get a lot of options and choices for dishes of both sides... friendly behaviour and caring staffs, good for elderly citizens as well... location wise it is better if you have your own vehicle or rent a ride as you have to walk for 5-7 minutes from nearest actual bus stop.

Surely try Bhetki Fish and Rice. Nolen Gur is another yummiest dessert here! Staffs are also very good natured! Loved the place.

6 Ballygunge Place is a suggestion I got from the FB group when I asked to. As per the suggestion I have visited one of the stores of the chain, which one is Salk Lake City. The store is small in size but the food and staff behaviour is fabulous. Me and my brother visited and when we order for a meal and we were just licking our fingers. Good place to visit for good food.

I have recently visited there salt lake sector v outlet....the food quality was hopeless.... The rates are extremely in higher side, in respect to food quality.... Service quality is also not upto the mark....i will not recommended anyone to go to this place...and anyone who once visit this place will surely not visit there outlets agains....

This Saltlake Sector 1 Branch is not value for money, avoid this place to experience the real 6 Ballygunge kasba branch

During durga puja Waiting time is long. Some groups have to share one table which is very inconvenient. More than 45 minutes waiting time even for small groups. Food quality is good. Buffet 1200 plus gst . Only buffet available during Puja time there are 3 floors...no wash basin in the 3rd floor ..have to come to 2nd floor .. Bit inconvenient for elders

Prices are worth the taste. Do come and have a visit. Fish Fry is a must try and also Dhakai Pora Mutton. Vegetarians have a limited number of choices so it's better to get a thali and for Non- vegetarians it's a paradise. BANGALIR BHURIBHOJ er jonno ekdom perfect destination.

The worst dining experience I had ever in kolkata, firstly the Basanti Polao ordered is heavily cented and too much sweet as if I am having zarda Polao from a street vendor, Dabh-chingri was too bad 👎 doi-chicken is just as commonly available chicken in normal restaurants, fish was just a waste as well. Hygiene factor had a big question as I found a hair in the coke served through the waiter changed the same upon showing it to them but overall I had a very bad experience in 6 ballygunge place at Salt Lake Sector 1. However the ambience is good & nicely decorated with clean washroom 🚻. Please beware of going to the outlet in Salt Lake specialy during pujo time unless the outlet work very hard on this to improve the quality. For billing was 3k upon ordering 3plate basanti polao, a dabchingri, doichicken, fish chop, plain salad & 4 soft drinks for 5 people.

One of the best Bengali restaurant with buffet system with classis Bengali flavours of chingri macher Malai curry, Mutton kosa, and Betki macher paturi. Nice ambiance good staff and food was outstanding ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I felt quality issue has raised, previously we felt satisfied and did not think about money but this time even mutton kasa was sweet in taste and very hard. After paying so much money, we deserve good quality food.

Elish mach and the mutton curry mach kosto was my favourite. However other items was also good. The pricing was high however it's worth the try. I had dinner as well as buffet . Buffet also had interested items.

The atmosphere was fantastic. We indulged in a delightful lunch buffet that left us satisfied. The Chingri malaikari, Saak bhaja, Sukto, Paturi, and Mutton were all outstanding choices.

Well its a very popular eatery, especially if you want Bengali food. Have rated the food 3 stars as some items were extraordinary while some were pretty average. Ambience is great, no doubt. The only thing which bothered me was the Manager & waiters trying to take our plates away just because it was nearing kitchen closing time. Even suggested to the Manager to atleast ask before clearing the plates. Anyways, a decent Bengali restaurant to visit!
