The taste of the food is not worth at all. This is just running for the name sake. The tandoori chicken costed a wooping 260 bucks but it was so dry. The chicken platter that costs more than 500/- is worthless ( 2 shekh kabab, 1 tandoori, 2 hariyali and 4 reshmi topped with cheese. ) The champaran meat was not tasty at all rather very blunt and just it costs 475/- . I won't recommend it at all. The chicken bharta on the other hand was really good. The fhirni lacked sweetness. The service was good and the interior ambience gives a essence of dhaba.

Very nice ambience with dhaba themed decoration. We went there for dinner and ordered some of their recommend dish but the food was of very poor quality and very bad in taste. The cost of food is very high but the quality of food is worst.

The ambience of the restaurant is good. We find a good crowd sitting there. You would find many pictures and quotations written on the walls to make it interesting. There are few new additions now like Dum Biryani and the Goli Soda. Coming to food, we ordered tandoori roti, hari mirch paratha, daal makhani, goli soda and stuffed mushroom tikka. The food was palatable. We expected cheese in the stuffed mushroom however it was stuffed with cottage cheese (paneer). Starting with the ambience, it is one of it's kind in kolkata. Everything right from the interiors to the cutlery reflects dhaba in itself. Menu- it is not too varied, limited items are there and it's costlier than actual dhabas... Taste- we ordered veg items and all of them were tasty. Phirni is a must have here and highly recommended. Rang De Basanti is always in my hit list. Their Indian cuisine is just one of the highly recommended one. I always prefer rang De Basanti for dhaba style food and it's perfectly upto the mark. Recently I ordered Purano dilli mirch meat Chicken bharta Garlic naan All are highly recommended. Tempered proof packaging and also delivered hot. If you craving for dhaba style food please go for it.

In main course ordered rumali roti -which was served cold, garlic naan - was good, kulcha - was again not cooked properly and Mutton rara- it was so bad in taste. Very bad experience. The ambience is just awesome. You get a rusty and honey feel. Good place to hang out with office colleagues. The service is very prompt and the utensils choice is unique desi punjabi style. The food tastes awesome. Loved the Goli Soda and would recommend everyone to try it. The highway mutton is also very delicious.The desi fish fry was very juicy and fish was fresh and soft. All together had a wonderful experience.

Rang de Basanti Dhabha is in Salt Lake sec 5. A typical busy punjabi restaurant given a Dhabha look and presentation..appreciable job. There is no temp check at entrance but a sanitizer is kept on each table and all employees are in uniform and mask. There is ample distance between each table so that takes care of social distancing... Coming on the food part..we ordered lassi, tandoori roti, amritsari chole and mutton delli style..it tasted awsome..had my appetite allowed..chicken biryani would have enjoyed coming in my mouth😂🤭😉 Food was served in typical thick alluminium platters which was enhancing the Dhabha feel.. Great place to have dhaba style food. Chicken tandoori was very good, spicy and juicy. Rumali roti was not that great. Chicken handi was good. Parking is a big issue. Road sides are available and on a busy day hard to find a good spot.

Well ambience matters so as the food too but unfortunately RDBD has not satisfied our taste buds 😕 significantly at very first time after lots of good reviews here comes our review about the mutton and chicken biryani , biryani seems to be not like biryani rather its like fried rice mixed with chicken or mutton pieces although after been waiting for 25 minutes they serve the food is that so fast I don't even think so , but it's okay it can be managed by the quality of food but frankly wasn't satisfied with it.

Well in my first Experience i would say it's an ok place but not the best. The food taste is decent. But In respective of its price I'm not satisfied with its quantity. And they took a lot of time in service, specifically in the end when you ask for the bill. Also the atmosphere is good but, water is dripping on the seats from their AC in some areas!! Overall i would say you can try this place , but don't visit it with high expectations. It's a good one but definitely not one of the best!

Pathetic service received from Rang de Basanti dhaba. Don't make a try at lunch time on working days because of it's location near college more,Saltlake a huge rush of IT people and nearby college student's. We have to wait for nearly an hour to get our food. We have ordered chicken Tikka, Handi mutton and Plain rice. First we served Rice & Mutton!!! When we asked for chicken Tikka the service boy replied it will take some more time!!!!! Don't recommend this restaurant who has time constraints. Food is also overpriced. One litre Kinley priced at Rs55 here plus taxes and 2% service charges which they takes for their Pathetic services!!!!

We visited the dhaba for dinner and took the Dahi kebab tikki tawa fried as the starter. It was an excellent yummy preparation. Next we tried Sarson ka saag with makki ke roti (winter spacial) served with white butter, gur and muli achar). Absolutely new to us, and enjoyed a lot. Finally we took hot gulab jamun, gajar ka halwa and pudina soda, all excellent. Hope to visit again.

My dining experience at Rang De Basanti Dhaba in Sector V, Salt Lake, was a mix of highs and lows. Lip smacking food! We ordered naan and butter paneer and it was so good. Not sure about the goli soda tho although you can try once. Tip: have cold drinks(in glass bottle) outside the restaurant, if you want it for cheap.

Ambience was good. What I felt personally was that it was average, noy over the top. I would say it was not bad. The biryani was good. The tandoori roti was average, the butter naan was hard and the butter chicken was too average.

The place was not that cozy also the service was very slow. Now regarding their food, we ordered: ● Chicken Dum Biryani (priced at Rs 305): it comes with a aloo, raita and a piece of chicken. The rice is enough to serve 2 people. ● Chicken Lehsuni Tikka (priced at Rs 305): 6 pcs. ● Dilli Ka Butter Chicken (priced at Rs 355) ● Tandoori roti (priced at Rs 30) ● Firni (priced at Rs 95) The foods tasted good but the service have to be worked on. Overall, a nice place to hang out with friends.

1 star for average food quality. They charge additional hygiene charge of 5%(apart from GST, etc.) which none of the restaurants charged in my 4 day stay in Kolkata. Their washroom was very dirty. The manager could not answer properly for this 5% if proper hygiene was not maintained. I am not sure if I would like to visit or take my closed one's to this restaurant again. Very disappointed.

It was my Mom Dad's Anniversary. Hence we had dinner over there and ordered Butter chicken tawa Bombay biriyani. The dish was really lip smacking. The taste was awesome, so was the quality and the quantity. We loved it. I would like to recommend it to the people who want to explore different kind of biriyani with a tinge of spice.

Now coming to FOOD...healthy food that too lipsmacking.One must try the Kashundi Kebabs,Masala Khulcha & also Chicken Bharta.Bharta is quite different from available in other restaurants. Also the Firni tastes little different. The serving guys are quite good..👍🏻👍🏻

We went for dinner and ordered butter naan, tandoori roti, Chicken Bharta. Apparently, that was the only side dish available at around 9.45 pm. Anyway the quantity was extremely low. The bowl that they served it in looked deep from outside but as we were dipping our spoons, we soon realised the scam. Furthermore, the taste was very bland. They charged ₹50 for a ₹20 mineral water bottle. They even added sanitation charges which is for the sanitizer on the table, i guess. So we had it removed. I'm not gonna visit this place again. Totally disappointed.

Ordered Biryani from here, quantity is not sufficient for a 5 year old baby and also not good as quality wise. Also ordered with extra egg, amount has been taken but no egg was in the percel. Careless management.

It's on a prime location. Can be viewed from a car or bus. And on the main road. That's why the Restaurant can be located easily. Communication is just awesome to reach there and to return to original destination as well. Only one Cuisine is available there. Total Indian Food Delicacy. Mainly Mughlai Cuisine. Quality of food is just awesome. Neither more nor less spicy the food is. Just awesome chemistry in terms of food is being served there. Flavor and taste of the food served is heavenly. I just fond of their food. Visit often with my friends. Also take parcels for my family members, too. So, any one can understand how much I love their food. So I firmly recommending their food. Anyone can come here in Rang De Basanti Dhaba and to justify my words. I think there wouldn't be any questions about quality of food be arise. Take reasonable time to serve the food after being it's ordered. The waiters there are very polite and communicable. Always available on calling. And I have a familiar relationship with them, mostly.
