Hotel has very authentic taste and very nominal price. The price to the quality quantity ratio is awesome. Good service.Must try once. CON : Crowded literally, you have to wait behind the person eating to make your slot. Seating should be managed by the hotel. Other than crowd it would definitely be a 5 🌟

One of the best hotel in Mysore to have breakfast and lunch at affordable price, but the service is not well good enough. I am very satisfied with food. Especially vada, Idali, gulab J am.

I rate the lunch average.. Tried both south and north meals it didn't impress me so much. What was interesting and nice about this place was the snack and dessert they serve. I rate Bonda sambar and bisibele bath much more than the meals. Bonda sambar was just too good. I like the vibe of the place, it's kind of a old house with tables in every room. I also liked quality of the food here, it was top notch. They must really improve in their Staff attitude 🙂 Must try is Bonda Sambar and Basundi *Good parking on street * Very affordable prices * Great quality * Nice Ambien * Washrooms available * Service is quick * Usually crowded may take time to get seat * Card payment accepted

A good place for vegetarian food. We had lunch here and the food was good. There is enough seating space available. The service is quick. Cars can be parked in the service road, but it can get crowded so one can park the car on the other streets nearby. This restaurant can get quite crowded during peak times. UPI payments are accepted here.

A must visit for any Mysorian or a tourist as well. Everything tastes best but have to wait for the seat. Filled with people and family. No doubt it's the best. No special mention for me. Everything tasted best.

This place is without a doubt one of the best Vegetarian restaurants in the city. We tried their South Indian meals and vadas, yum! So fresh, so filling and so many options on the menu as well. It's neat and clean, buzzing with people on Sundays for sure, there is parking on the road, it's not always available though. Each thali was Rs. 95 only, absolute value for money. Food - 4/5 Service - 4/5 Ambience - 4/5 Value for money - 5/5

This restaurant features as one of the top 'Old eateries' in Mysore so thought of giving it a try. Instead of going for a veg meal, decided to try the dishes that were popular here. The Bisi Bele bath was very good, better than most restaurants. The bonda soup was good with the bonda being crispy on the top giving it a crunch as you put a bite in your mouth. The soup was a bit on the thicker side than what I have usually tasted. There was a generous amount of pepper added in the soup elevating the taste. Chandrahara, if you have tried it in MTR in Bangalore is served with a thick sweet syrup (like a rabadi). Here, it's served in a syrup which was watery and a hint of sweetness. Very contrasting to the chandrahara I have ever tasted. Personally, would prefer the one served in MTR. Basundi had the usual taste and was good. The service was pretty fast and the staff were ensuring to keep the place clean. The pricing is pretty reasonable.

Visited this place after seeing Google reviews and YouTube reviews. To be Frank it's over hyped better to dine in other restaurants. The administration is not bothered about your visit worst part is you have to wait near the table where people are dining for your turn, as the finish dining you have to sit in the table so if you visit in a busy day you can literally see people waiting near the dining table and management does nothing in regard to this. Asked them if they can provide a wait area and take up names as other restaurants do they dint even answer.

The hotel rightly deserves all that fame it enjoys. The ambience will take you to the bygone decades as its set up inside a building of 1940s or 1950s. Coming to the food: this is a multicuisine restaurant. C I tried their chhole bathure and dahi puri. Chhole bathure was good as expected. I didn't enjoy the dahi puri much but it was not bad. I will visit the place a few more times to try their meals for lunch and dinner.

We were lucky to come across this restaurant in town! Its a must visit place for authentic food- we loved their Chana Bhatura, Masala Dosa and even Dahi Puri. The moment you enter in the restaurant you can make out it has to be one of the oldest heritage restaurants of the city. Nicely maintained 👌🏼

Masala dose was very tasty especially the chutney. Sambar was little sweet to my taste. Vade was super crispy. Had one of the best filter coffee to finish the yummy breakfast. 😋

An old house that’s converted into a restaurant. Very very courteous and patient staff. The place is mostly crowded and hence one will have to wait. The food is tasty

Best place for lunch with family n friends. Comfortable place for good food since 22 years. A must visit place whenever I come to Mysore !! Their strong coffee is super for a rainy afternoon like today. The only place I've seen having waitresses.

Food was mediocre. Don't go for lunch because you won't find any seats and they don't have a waiting list. You just stand next to person who is eating to take his seat. Wasn't worth the hassle of waiting for the south Indian Thali we got. It was minimal and taste was mediocre. Recommend not go here sure weekend lunch hours as it has long waits.

Best place to have a good and tasty lunch. Prices very very economical. Place may be old style, but service beats it. Great service. Difficult to find seats during peak hours, but try this place once if you are in Mysore.

We had meals there. Very simple food with a curry and a Dal along with Sambar, Rasam and Curd.and good taste. Rasam was the highlight. Was very hot and tasty. They serve Chapathi and a bowl of rice. Worth for Rs 100.

We were craving for a proper south Indian meal and this place was everything we wanted. Every item in the thali tasted super homely. The taste, the freshness, the piping hotness, was perfect. The service was slow and the place was crowded. We had to wait to get a table but it was completely worth it. Do visit when in town.

Mahesh Prasad is not just a hotel - It's an emotion for me! Been having food here since 2002 - 20+ years now, and everything is the same! One of the best places for South Indian breakfast in Mysore. Love the crispy Vada, Set Masala dosa and Poori. Surprisingly, their North Indian tastes amazing too - Cutlet is my all time favorite. During peak times in the morning / evening and on weekends, you'll have to wait a bit since it gets crowded. There's nobody managing the waiting list, so you'll have to find the next empty table yourself - this may be an awkward experience for first timers :)

After a long search dropped down on this during visit to Mysore. Very crowded had to find to get place to sit n eat. Thali is below par, Sambar Bonda was scrumptious and Bisbella bath tasted good. tasted Chandrahara, tasted good but over sweet(sugary). Pakoda was average. Highlight and best part is the Dessert Fruit Salad with Ice cream, loved it. Overall it's an okay experience just not lived to the hype

This place serves good authentic South Indian food. All the dishes are delicious and tasty especially Masala dosa (Single or double), Bonda Soup, etc.. Overall, this is a must-visit for breakfast or dinner lovers and a great spot to indulge in some authentic and delicious South Indian delicacies.

An old place to have south indian food. Afternoon only meals - south indian, executive (north Indian - w/ tandoori roti), bissibelle bhat, and veg rice. They serve 2 type of sweet too - that is very traditional to this place. They both were good. This place gets very crowded after 1 PM - lunch (meals) time. Keep in mind, one needs to wait for 15-20 mins and find a table yourself. No queues or numbering for wait listed.

Pros- clean food, good quality. Reasonable pricing. Great dessert. Con’s- no parking, time restricted items, crowded place with limited seating place. Don’t follow the hype and visit this place. Go with Normal expectations. We didn’t get meals at 3pm. So you can imagine.

Have visited this place twice and both the times for lunch. Ambience - It is a very simple restaurant which is light on the pocket so nothing great about the ambience. It is quiet a big place which can accommodate more than 50 people. The main thing worth mentioning is that it is a very clean and hygenic place. They have washrooms as well which is well maintained unlike other small Darshinis. Service - Whatever you order it will be served in 5 min even when the place is full. The Staff is attentive but not very polite. Food - There was only rice dishes during lunch, breakfast items like Dosas are not available in the lunch time. In our 1st visit we had a South-Indian meal and Bibelebath, in the 2nd visit we had South-Indian meal, Pulao and Basundi. South-Indian Meal - Consists of 1 chapathi, pickle, dry vegetable fry, vegetable curry, a bowl of rice, rasam, sambar, curds, buttermilk, sweet and a papad. Everything was good but the sagu was average. It is filling for 1 person. Bisibelebath - I am a Bisibelebath fan but I did not like it even a bit here. It had too much unwanted masala and was spicy. Pulao - It with a cup of Raitha. Again this also had too much masala which was unnecessary and it was oily. It had some deep fried bread crumbs along with vegetables. Basundi - The best dish I have had here. The quantity was also good. If you are here for lunch then please just have a meal, Bisibelebath and Palao is a big NO also don't miss Basundi for dessert. I'm definitely visiting this place for breakfast to try their famous Masala Dose!

It's great for sure, Numbers of items available. Clean and tasty at an affordable price, good parking space, good atmosphere, it actually deserves a 5 star no doubt. But the reason for 4 stars is it's too crowded we need to wait for seats (if the taste is good, yup it's gonna be crowded). Might be a good idea to avoid weekends. Other than that everything is fantastic. Recommended - Big Puri :-)

This restaurant, now called Neelajana Mahesh Prasad, existed in its previous avatar as “Mahesh Prasad” for decades in Mysore and has been a culinary landmark. In its new avatar it has expanded its menu to include North Indian and Chinese vegetarian food, but the classic South Indian dishes are still my favourite A must visit for delicious food, especially the rapidly disappearing South Indian thali

Mahesh Prasad is a veg restaurant. If u love South Indian food then u must try this restaurant. I ordered a bisi bele bath which was fab. Their Kesari bath is a must try for dessert lovers I loved it. I also ordered Poori which was served with coconut chutney and saggu. Service was good.It was affordable.

One of the oldest hotel. Old house converted to restaurant. Famous for typical south Indian dishes and especially bonda soup. I tried butter masala dosa, dahi puri and tea. Tastewise it's not bad but nothing great. Service is also good.

Visited this place for lunch time. We tried meals, bisibelebath, bonda with Sambar and Chandrahara (dessert). Overall, tastes was too good. Wide dining in and out to occupy lot of customers. If you're around this place it's best option to try out. They do have little parking space.

Amazing old world charm and excellent food - no wonder it's one of the highly recommended authentic south indian restaurant in Mysore. What amazed us was that even the North Indian Dal Tadka & Rice was also so very authentic. Benne Dosa is pure gastric indulgence ! Only limitation is that it houses table for 4 only so if you are going in larger group, you need to dine separate Must try - Benne Dosa, Bonda Soup, Coffee, Thatte idli.

Masala Dose is good. Trust me, it's like any other darshini hotel. Chutney is awesome. Sambhar was so-so. Coffee is ok. 4 stars for the service, crispy dosa and chutney
