Silver Hill Hospital saved my life. I completed the 28 day in-patient Transitional Living Program at Silver Hill a few years ago and it transformed every aspect of my life and overall health. The clinicians and care team at the facility are amazing and really spend the time to get to know your background and individual challenges. My care team let me explore things at my own pace and make decisions for myself rather than telling me what I "needed or should" do. Silver Hill also helped me integrate into my local recovery community so that I had a stable support system upon discharge. In addition, the people that help manage the houses are caring and passionate about helping you achieve recovery which meant a lot to me throughout the 28 day program. The facility itself is beautiful and has everything you need. The houses are well maintained and comfortable. The gym had every piece of equipment you could ask for including a basketball court and indoor pool. I also couldn't believe how good the food was for a treatment facility - they had tons of options and everything tasted amazing. Silver Hill honestly gave me a second chance at life and helped me begin to grow into the person I am today. I am forever grateful to Silver Hill and the staff there for allowing me to begin the healing process and change my life in so many positive ways. I highly recommend Silver Hill Hospital if you are considering entering treatment for substance abuse or mental health related problems.

It’s been 6 years since I left this place, and I can say they did squat to help with my recovery. Not only was I misdiagnosed (while detoxing from substances and with the use of a Rorschach test, which has been widely disavowed as quackery), which was damaging for my mental health treatment, but I also left this place and immediately relapsed. I hope they still don’t rely on the 12-step program, which has a 5-10% success rate! My social worker was an intern not much older than me (I was 21 at the time). She had no idea what to do with me, lol. Thank goodness insurance covered my time here. Don’t waste your money. It’s another tumor that makes up the predatory rehab-industrial complex. They make more money if you fail and have to return. I’ve been sober from my DOC for over 4 years. And what was my magical “cure?” I found better purpose in my life; I found my true passion. And that passion has made me a successful small biz owner not afraid to publicly shame them for their overpriced nonsense. I’ll add, I guess decorating a gingerbread house didn’t make me magically become sober. Who would’ve thought?

Simply put, Silver Hill Hospital saved my life. At a time where I had lost all hope, my family was referred to SH, and thank goodness they were. I spent 7 weeks in treatment and from the first day, the Drs, Social Workers, Psych Techs and the beloved staff in the dining room all made sure I knew I was a priority and that I was safe and being cared for. I don’t know where I would be today if it were not for this hospital. 2 years after discharge, I now volunteer there weekly. I would, without a doubt, recommend Silver Hill Hospital to anyone in need to help. Thank you for giving me my life back, SH 🙏

Silver Hill literally saved my life 19 years ago when I desperately sought help with my daily opiate addiction in November of 2003. Now , 19 years later , I am able to witness first hand what I have known to be true for a long time. Silver Hill is a magical place. Occasionally I will travel back to Silver Hill to share my story of recovery with the current residents, and it affords me the opportunity to see residents at different stages of what usually is a month long stay, and the difference in their recovery is clearly evident during that time frame. It’s such a gift for someone who is also in recovery to witness that growth. To a person the patients leave Silver Hill with a plan mapped out on what they need to do to stay sober once they leave the safety of the hospital. I have been clean and sober for 19 years and my time spent at Silver Hill over the last 8 months is the best thing that has happened for me as a sober man.

Silver Hill Hospital is the best of the best. As the lead of a nationwide continuing care program, I know that when individuals come from Silver Hill they have the education, insight and therapeutic tools to continue on their recovery journey. I have referred clients and family members to Silver Hill and will continue to do so. Their clinical team cares deeply for each person and their loved ones. They take the utmost care when treating their patients. The team at Silver Hill makes coordinating care seamless - a process which is crucial when someone is in early recovery. The team that I have had the absolute pleasure of working with including Bradley Bloom, Rachel Freeman Hudson, Tami Wilkinson, Susan DeRosa, Rachel Weldon, Micaela Sully and Emma Freatman are some of the kindest, most competent professionals I have worked with.

My month long stay in the transitional living program at Silver Hill was a very positive experience. The campus is beautiful and the facilities are clean and very well maintained. The staff is a warm and caring group of people, from the compassionate patient navigators and highly competent psychiatrists and social workers, to the kind food services people and the dedicated weekend yoga and meditation instructors! I took part in the trauma program where the principles of Cognitive Processing Therapy are applied in the healing process. My therapist, who led me in this program, was so skilled in the application of this therapy that I will be grateful to her forever. I did not want our work together to end! I have also found the skill set that I learned from the Dialectical Behavior Therapy teachings to be very useful for managing emotions in my every day life. During my stay, I was fortunate enough to spend some time with the hospital’s chaplain who was very good at simply listening to my story and witnessing the grief I have suffered due to the loss of a loved one. Her presence was very grounding. When not working in my therapy sessions, I made sure to get out and exercise on the beautiful campus grounds and to take advantage of practicing mindfulness skills during the yoga and meditation class offerings. I would highly recommend Silver Hill Hospital.

Having completed the inpatient / 28 day DBT program I can say with confidence that I will use the skills I learned at Silver Hill every day. The program itself was clear and digestible, and the facilitators for programs were educated, compassionate, and kind. You could tell that people worked there because they like to help others succeed. The patient navigators were a huge help in making sure I was supported and informed—they truly made the transition easier. The few issues I raised were addressed promptly and taken seriously. The staff, doctors, social workers and administrators were all kind and professional. The food was surprisingly okay for a hospital, and the campus itself is well maintained and clean. Overall I’m grateful to have spent time working on my mental health in such good care.

Silver Hill Hospital was nothing short of life changing for my daughter. After working with therapist, psychiatrists, group therapy, PHPs and IOPs, I was desperate for something that would help with her severe anxiety and depression. The entire team and staff at Silver Hill were so welcoming, supportive and amazing from intake, throughout her stay and as she transitioned out of their care. I cannot believe how much progress my daughter made in just two weeks. As a parent, I know how scary it can be to see your child suffer and then to have to make the decision to send your child away for psychiatric care, especially when reviews are few and far between. That said, our experience with Silver Hill has been incredible. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone, child or adult, struggling with their mental health. I am so thankful for how they cared for my daughter and brought her back to life in a way that no other treatment program we tried ever could.

Silver Hill has made me gain so much hope for my recovery. My life before coming here was so unmanageable and I never thought I would become this knowledgeable and healthy! This is the best place to send your loved ones because Silver Hill Hospital tackles the core problems behind the problem behaviors. I have met so many kind, well, like minded people here, which has built my social support group. Now I have so many good healthy friends and don't intend to ever go back to my old behaviors. This place has made my life worth living again. Silver Hill has so many different houses that tackle so many different problem behaviors and health issues. There's a place here for recovery for anyone who wants it. I feel reborn after my stay here.

TOTAL SCAM. please make sure you know what you are getting into. Deposit is not for treatment. It for future services. If you decide the treatment isn’t right or working, you will forfeit everything “because it’s our policy.” That is not putting the patient first as their motto states. This wont work for everyone. My daughter felt the program wasn’t right for her due to the housing they put her in (with drug addicts while she was admitted for depression)! I now read the other reviews and understand.

As a referring professional, I consider Silver Hill one of the most clinically sophisticated programs country. I have connected many individuals and families to Silver Hill and trust that they will receive gold-standard care from admissions through to discharge. Silver Hill’s compassionate and caring staff go the extra mile for clients, are collaborative and communicative, and offer the highest-level of service. I highly recommend Silver Hill!

We recently had the opportunity to place a client at Silver Hill. We can not say enough about the collaboration of their entire team directed to the care of the client and family. Working with a care facility that communicates between Admissions, Clinical, Doctor, Finance teams is crucial. I have a high level of respect and trust for the work Silver Hill has provided this family. The team continues to check in with our team on client wellness and is vested in a wellness outcome. Thank you Silver Hill for the great care and communication. We look forward to working with you in the future.

Silver Hill has been a terrific resource and beyond supportive program to help in my journey to recovery. Their open minded approach to a multitude of recovery models (SMART, AA, Refuge, etc.) in tandem with the scientific approach of the DBT therapy has significantly helped reframe my perspective on what a recovery path can look like. The staff, from the intake nurses to the residential coordinators to the top executives (that come in on there weekends off to address patient needs in real time!) has been terrific, attentive, and adapts to every patients' needs that I have both felt and observed! Like many experiences in life, you get out of it what you put into it. And if you come with an open mind and are willing to advocate for yourself and share openly, the opportunities to be successful are endless. I am looking forward to my continued journey of recovery thank to the foundation I have built through Silver Hill.

I stayed here about 5 years ago and there’s a lot of good factors to this hospital, many of the staff was very caring and the food was usually well made. The facility was beautiful from what I remember but also so expensive for what it had to offer. You would think at the price of the place they would be at some expertise level of care but unfortunately I do remember a lot of flaws to this place and looking at the other comments it turns out I’m not the only one. I looked at the staff directory that was updated and I’m very thankful to see that some faces are gone, one (man) doctor in particular who had no business being around vulnerable adolescent women.

I went to River House in 2011 for the DBT program and it was the best program I was ever in. That’s not saying overly much considering the state of so many very expensive residential mental health facilities, but Silver Hill was for sure the absolute best. Unfortunately when I went I was unable to take in the help fully or be fully present to utilize the resources. I was misdiagnosed with BPD at the time when in fact what I had was undiagnosed ADHD, high functioning Autism, and CPTSD. Given how little research there was into the female presentation of autism and ADHD I can’t fault them for not being able to correct the diagnosis, the understanding simply didn’t exist yet. However, the staff was amazing, they were extremely kind and understanding and had good personal boundaries. It was a very safe environment, well run, and we as patients had a surprising amount of autonomy. The food was also quite excellent and there were a ton of healthy options. Despite not being able to soak up the help that was offered it was still an amazing first step on my journey back to myself.

A decent spot amongst the multiple mental health care treatment programs out there. A nice campus, very good residential counselors, and a spiritual advisor on staff (Cheryl) whose wisdom is lightyears ahead of her peers' (unfortunately). The Argent program was inadequate in the psychopharmacological assessment component. Moreover, the Silver Hill staff spelled my last name incorrectly on the final report; that poor attunement to detail was exemplative of the overwhelmingly superficial assessment process and how lacking it was. Very disappointing, and disheartening. My overall experience at Silver Hill was worthwhile, primarily because of the strong caliber of patients that this particular hospital has attracted to accompany me on my mental wellness journey. And lastly, pretty good food for a hospital.

I went to k-house back in January of 2022, and as much as I want to say I hated it there, I was unfortunately sent at the wrong time. I personally dont think k-house is for someone who is constantly in and out of crisis, because I was and k-house wasn’t equipped to deal with someone like me. Yes that sounds very extreme but that’s because my lack of stabilization before being sent wasn’t enough to keep me there. I did learn a lot of DBT skills that I still use today and I am so grateful for all the staff members who were there every time for me. I remember this one time a staff who was off came in ON HER DAY OFF to try and help me, and I definitely couldn’t see it then but I do now. However, the doctor for k-house was not good, she spoke to my psychiatrist from home about my medications he told her not to change them or do anything different. She did and that week I did get kicked out of k-house. It was bound to happen that still however dosent validate what she did bc she definitely made it alot worse and I also didnt help. So I mean k-house is good if you’re stable, ready for treatment, can stand medical changes, and is will to try. This facility wasn’t the one that saved me but it definitely gave me skills to bring to my next facilities that did save my life. Take this as you will but that is my most honest and most transparent thing I can say about this place

The IOP programs are so helpful! The staff are so supportive and kind. I’m especially grateful to Cristen and Jonathan. They are both wonderful group facilitators who made me feel comfortable and created a really special environment for healing.

Not only did they not help with any of her bad habits, it was a complete waste of time, they are also known to be just a stop on the way to other RTC programs. I wish I knew that before telling her she should go. I’ve heard that it’s better for adults though.
