Gas station converted to coffee shop. My ice latte was great. Surprised to see hotdogs on the menu. Ordered a chili dog and it was excellent. Customer service was very good as well. Would definitely go back.

Clean place, great breakfast sandwiches, great coffee selection and mixing. Solid juice choices. They have lox, etc. Very friendly staff. Nice 50s diner feeling. Sunny inside.

Ordered 4 things 3 of the 4 things were great. Scone was super yummy, chai was perfect will definitely go back for a good chai latte. I was a bit disappointed with the lox bagel. There was a small hunk of lox, 2 chunky sliced tomatoes, 3 paper thin onion pieces, and a hunk of cream cheese that was clearly sliced from the brick and not spread on the bagel. I also asked for no capers and they added capers. It was sti good but a bit awkward and not as satisying mainly because i tried this spot out with the express purpose of getting a lox bagel craving satisfied

Java Jax is a really cute coffee shop with a vintage aesthetic, kind staff, and stellar coffee & pastries. They also have sandwiches and bagels to try. I really recommend this cafe.

JAVA JAX in Vallejo! My friend presented a 100 for payment and bill was checked and passed the tests and then was refused. She was wearing casual work clothes.? LAST TIME THERE FOR ME! Been patronizing for 10 years! Angry horrible man on counter, owner.

We got two espresso drinks. The latte was burnt and had absolutely no foam. The caramel macchiato had globs of syrup to cover up the burnt taste, but that was the only flavor. Bagels were good and nice looking shop, but definitely steer clear of the coffee.

Awesome ambiance and spotlessly clean. Wonderful customer service and good, hot food cooked to order. I also expected really good bagels for some reason (maybe due to the east coast decor and that a bagel and egg sandwich was over 8 dollars) but sadly the everything bagel I had was the ordinary bready California style with no interesting flavor or chewiness, and it had fennel seeds which was really odd. All in all, a nice little spot.

The chai latte is pretty good and all their pastries are delicious. They do take their time so don't come here in a rush or you'll be disappointed. Took 45 minutes to make 3 drink one being a plain coffee

WARNING: ZERO vegan options - do not listen to other reviews that say otherwise. Waste of time coming here - just go to The Grind Cafe - they have an amazing breakfast options - vegan burrito and vegan sandwich and delicious coffee with quick and great service!

The coffee is very good (the best part). I do LOVE the sandwich I get. I do think the prices are a bit high. Roughly $25 for two 20oz mocha&latte and 1 sandwich which I do think is a bit steep. I really try to support local small businesses as much as possible, so I do understand it's difficult to be competitive with big chains. I have always had a great experience with the staff they are not super bubbly, but they always give me a smile and are very kind and thorough with repeating orders back. The owner on the other hand, he can be a bit much. It was very busy one morning, and the woman working was doing her best keeping up (stressed, but handling it well). He walks in and says "would you like some help?" She didn't respond because she was busy, and he asked her again kind of rudely... I'm like?... You CLEARLY see there is a line out the door and you want verbal confirmation that she needs help?! Yeah... I think she would appreciate the help!... She responded "yes", then he walked out! He went to go grab something from his car. What was the point of asking, then clarifying she wanted help... just to walk away?! Maybe he thought she "had it", but it seemed more like a controlling thing to me? The line was pretty long. On another occasion I overheard him correcting patrons several times while ordering. I don't need a "coffee lesson", I don't care that a latte "doesn't have whipped cream", I just don't want it on there. My boyfriend is vegan and SEVERELY lactose intolerant, so I'd rather just emphasize "no whip" to be sure. I can 100% understand being passionate about coffee, and the "education" is meant to benefit the customer and help with order accuracy. However, it comes off as rude and pretentious in MY opinion. Also, to me... the energy shifts as soon as he walks in the door. The workers definatley seem less comfortable when he is there. My dad specifically refuses to go here because he thinks the owner is a "jerk". I'd rather just share my direct observations. I do think he believes he is just trying to do the best for staff and customers... but he does come off "prickly". I will still come because 1. I want to support small business, 2. The coffee and sandwich is good. However, it does make me think twice coming here. Also, there are NO specific vegan options. The owner/staff is clear that they are unsure, which I very much appreciate. I'd rather him say he's not sure than bring something home that makes my boyfriend very sick. However, it would be nice that at least ONE thing be KNOWINGLY vegan there. Most coffee shops now have at least one vegan food option. We always have to make 2 stops because there is nothing my boyfriend can eat there and "the chew" (vegan resturant across the street) doesn't open until 11am.
