Beautiful park with lots of places and activities to do. The river that crosses it makes the experience even better.

Like the off leash areas, but wish there was a dog area for dogs to be completely fenced too.

One of my favorite places to run and walk with my family. Lovely bridge and river view, quiet path. It's near the road but mostly you don't see the cars. Off leash dog park is right at the mouth of this park and my kids love seeing all the dogs.

This place is beautiful for dog walking. Unfortunately, nobody picks own dog poo... I wish each person not to be selfish and keep this place clean and beautiful for everyone and lovely dogs. Otherwise, this trail is wonderful!!

Is great place to spend time with the family, or just to go to relax your self. They have the kayaks, mini golf, pedals boat, food store, very clean bathroom, volleyball, tenis, exercise machines, golf course and much more. Plus the nice view and peaceful atmosphere.

Visiting from out of town. Great views of everything covered in snow. Only with the walking path was shoveled past the walking bridge. Made tavel with a stroller difficult.

Great park to go with the family. Lot of activities that you can do here, such as tennis, beach volleyball, boating, and walk by the river. Highly recommended.

Nice Trail for biking and walking your dog.

  • 5/5 Midori T. 5 years ago on Google
This is a huge park that welcomes your dogs to run loose. No fences to make the dogs fight over territory. Paths lead you through the forest, over a wood and metal bridge then to the second part of the park. It's amazing.

Public bathrooms with running water, picnic tables, paved paths and a bridge. Water park, band shell, recreation building for parties as well as wedding receptions.

Great park. Beautiful view of the Fox River and has plenty of picnic tables to have a lunch or dinner there with the kids. The playground is meant for kids 5 and up, so toddlers wouldn't have anything really for them to play on unfortunately.

I thought these trails and bridge were great. However this is NOT a place for dogs with any kind of social issues. LOTS of dogs off leash and care free owners walking them. I was not prepared for encountering as many off leash dogs with our 90lb socially awkward pitbull. 💜 great place though 👍

Excellent place for experienced trail dogs. Love that trained dogs can be without leash.

Nice trail for your dog to explore. Easy access to fox river so your pup can swim.

Fox River Bluff West Forest Preserve earns 4 out of 5 stars for its pleasant mix of wooded areas and prairie grasslands, perfect for short walks. A paved path runs through most of the preserve for easy accessibility. The off-leash dog loop is a plus. However, the wood walkway under the bridge gets slick when wet and accumulates goose/dog feces. Overall, I recommend Fox River Bluff West for its convenient, pleasant setting.

Great place to get onto the bike trail. Dog friendly. Saw some cool migratory birds here.

Wonderful place to take your pup. Walk down the hill to the river. Not a long walk overall. Be careful & leash your dogs when you come up the other side because it isn't fenced there & borders route 31.

I love this park! One side of the park is grass and the other side is gravel/pavement. The dogs have access to get in the river. The trails, pups, and people were nice. I can't wait to go back when it's warmer.

Great place to take your dog. Just wish the people who bring their dogs there would clean up after them.

Grounds are maintained. The dogs enjoy the river. That's where the positive stops. Far too often, there is left over fishing trash in the places where the river can be accessed. Fishing string, lures, containers, etc. Likewise, there are people camping in tents with smoldering fires next to the river. On our last visit, we encountered a group of fishermen who were belligerent and verbally threatened us and saying they would call the police because our dogs tried to get into the water where they were fishing. Ban fishing and camping along the river in the off-leash area. We will not return.

I have been to this park on mutliple occasions but this is the first time this year that we have visited. THIS PLACE IS INFESTED WITH TICKS!! We found a tick first on myself then we checked the dogs and found 7 in total on both of my dogs and myself. Watch your dogs please! It seems that this park is not what is used to be in terms of safety for your dog!!!

There is dog poop everywhere, but the dogs run wild and free. They enjoy it, and the water in the summer.

This park is fabulous because they let you take your dog off leash! There is a non leash area and a leash area. There are bathrooms but of course they are outdoor bathrooms, so don't get your hopes up. With your dog, you can walk down a path to the river. When I visited, it was July, and the mosquitoes were horrific. My dog still had a wonderful time, and I would like to visit during non mosquito season.

Nice parking lot with pit toilets. Paved path connects to nice foot/bicycle bridge under Red Gate Road bridge. Plenty of connections to paved Fox River trails. Open prairie n woods. Saw birds, a toad n probably beavers swimming. Very clean. Dog friendly with off leash area.
