They target tourists to fine for ‘fare evasion’ aka we don’t understand the ticketing process to find the validation machines coming back from Pompeii. Instead of being understanding and seeing tickets for both directions were purchased and it was only the return that wasn’t validated they scam the people that don’t live there or speak the language and fine them for a quick cash grab. After returning home many of my friends said this is a common tactic in Napoli. Obviously they don’t want us spending money in their city. Beware and avoid coming here!

It is like to come to the fifth world. Tens of "living rooms" outside.. Quilts of many colors covering many people.. A lot of individuums walking around, warning "beware of pickpocketing is the first message on the display of ticket machine.. You need to come a lot of time before your train departs, if you are a firstcomer. Not clear navigation, it took us at least half an hour to get to the right gate.. Then >10 minutes to decide which platform.. We only wanted to go to one of the most famous archeological sites of the world - Pompeii. One would expect clear signs, wonderful trains.. Well, I post a photo what we got.. The platform is small and it's allowed to smoke on them. The trains are old, terribly kept and crowded. Especially during weekend.

I used this station as a hub to get to Pompeii by bus and to travel to Florence by train. It’s a fairly normal transit center for busses and trains. I wouldn’t buy trinkets or souvenirs here, as they’re marked up. Also, the staff generally doesn’t speak much English, though you can probably figure things out through Google translate or miming. Pretty standard all around. I had no issues here. For all the people ragging on Napoli — it’s not that bad. It’s a bit rougher than the touristy centers of northern cities, but overall I really enjoy Naples. It’s cheap, there’s great food, and the insides of buildings are generally really cleanly.

Not working at night - can’t enter inside till 3:30 AM Toilets not working till 5AM !! No posibilites to buy a water even the trains starts around 4AM. In whole station one few chairs which is ridiculous. And homeless people makes this place so unsafe pickpockets heaven is here because no body cares about passages safety.

Strange architecture in the station. The area is a slum, I didn’t feel that I was in Europe, rather in the extreme poverty of the 3rd world, with many armed people in the station trying to defend it.

Very impressed with the train station. It is clean and vibrant. There are lots of areas to eat like the Food Hall. Announcements are clear and are in Italian and English. Able to walk from the station to the Centro Storico.

As we were going to Pompeii, many travel guided recommend to take #Circumvesuviana this train. It was much more easier to find it then I thought, the stuffs were very nice helping everyone to find the platform. The only thing is, Naples central station is very hot during summer ( mid July) feel like the they have no enough fan or ventilation, but clean and safe. Lots of police and stuff to ask. #still need to be careful As a big station, there’s very crowded, and some bag picker might follow you.

How come a huge terminal like this only has one toilet, far away from the food court, underground, hidden (0% signage on the main floor)... And it forces you to put one euro (coins only!) to get access? Ridiculous! Also, we almost missed our train (it was a matter of seconds) because they didn't let us in - we were wearing regular face masks (the ones we used to fly to Portugal and to Italy), and they forced us to run to the pharmacy to buy new ones. Almost wrecked our trip. Never coming back to Napoli, you ruined the city to me.

Busy, busy station always. Just watch your pockets and luggage! Good trains to all over Italy and cheaper than UK.

I have been here a couple times and I have never had a problem finding my train or getting around. Just outside there are some very affordable places to find something to eat before catching a train. There is supposed to be a bus to take you from the airport to the train station, but we never saw it. We shared a cab with five other people and we each paid 5 euros for the trip. It isn’t exactly close to the airport but it wasn’t too bad either. It probably took us about 20 minutes to get there.

Very well organized, a lot of signs so you always know where you’re heading. A lot of help desks too.

This is one of the nicest, if not the nicest and cleanest stations I have been in on this trip. With both the Metro lines meeting here its the perfect place to begin you Napoli adventure.

Freccia trains (looking like a Ferrari on rails) in the central Station of Napoli fly to northern Italy at speeds of 300 km/h (see picture)

Big train station, but not yhe best in Italy. Easy to navigate trough it with clear instructions and many pannels from where you can purchase your ticket. No standing in line needed. Modern trains and great infrastructure.

I've heard horror stories and bewares about this train station and the surrounding areas, but it isn't as bad as the internet would have you believe. It is quite crowded, so definitely watch for pickpockets, and there are quite a lot of homeless people who might ask you for money, but if you ignore them they will usually leave you alone. Same as in comparable stations across much of Europe. Really great selection of services, including a big food court and a shopping gallery that serves as a connection to the nearby metro station. Reasonably clean and quite a lot of security roaming the station.

A bit crowded need to be safe with luggage. All information about trains are available and there is also a local metro train to travel pompei and sorrento near by like 200 meters far from it. Tickets to pompei from this place is 2.50 €

During last three years I passed many times through this station. The previous structure of napoli central station was worse. But the new one is really nice with many courts food that give you opportunity to eat and have a rest. The renew structure is so clean and modern specially the second floor.

A busy mid-sized train station. There is a lot going on and LOTS of people but its fairly organized and easy to navigate, all things considered. A few shops and places to grab food if you need. The information booths were friendly and helpful. There are a few levels, depending on what type of train you're taking (local, regional, etc).

Main train station in Naples. A positive point is that there are bus shuttles to go to the airport just in front of the main entrance, it costs 5,00 € for 1 person I think. A negative point is that it is a little dirty around the train station and it does not feel that safe in the evening.

After recent renovation, this place has really turned from disgusting parking lot into a reallz nice transport hub, respectable for city of Naples. Plenty of shopping and dining options around, if you are in hurry, go for the automatic ticketing machines and remember, each metro line has multiple entrances - don’t queue up for the first one you see. If you are changing from the metro to train, do not take the stairs, there is a tunnel.

DO NOT COME TO NAPLES, AND IF YOU MAKE THAT MISTAKE, DO NOT TAKE TAXI IN NAPLES. Two of us had bags, travelled to centro storico from Napoli Centrale. 1.5km, 5min drive. The driver dropped us off a block away from our destination (afraid to drop us off at final destination where we had someone waiting), then proceeded to ask 25E. "Ahh, two bags, two people standard charge." Obviously, no meter to be seen. He then pushed me, which freaked out the wife. So I gave him 20 to make that idiot go away. This place is a disgrace. Disgusting station, disgusting people. Don't come to Naples. Let this disgusting city and all its moneygrabbing people rot away into oblivion.

Clean and a short walk to Napoli Termini. Pretty much across the street. Centrale doesn't have many shops. But, termini has you covered.

I don't know why everybody talks badly. It's good here. No smell of urine, you can see the cleaner sweeping, in the night they clean the floor with that vehicle cleaning machine. They also let you stay the night. Guards are very nice. The toilets do cost 1 euro when I asked the guy how it works, he was so nice and we also laughed. Toilets are clean, not smelly, good looking. Toilets close at 23.00. The only minus is that it's cold in the night. Like not till 2/3 am, but at 3.30 they open the train gates and the wind is cool. But that is your (my) problem if I decide to stay a night here instead of hotel or hostel.

Now the station is pretty organized and with new food court and other gift shops, cafeteria. It is that place where inside you can catch the metro to reach inside the Naples and on the upper floor you can catch trains dor long journeys to north or any other direction of Italy. You can also catch very imp buses and it is surrounded by very many shops and tourists. A little bit dodgy but very lively

My first time taking high speed train from Naples to Rome. It is so nice experiencing. Train is clean and I'm so excited to see beautiful view all the way to Rome. Speed of the train is so fast more than I'm imagining. I get to Rome just 1 hour and 10 minutes.

Excellent train service to Rome, 140 miles in 1hr 16 mins. Fast , efficient, clean. Easy to purchase tickets on the day. No issues.

BEWARE, The staff at the first ticket booking office right at the entrance are duping customers by selling audio guide tickets without asking your permission first. They ask to pay in part by cash but don't tell you the reason. Then they issue you garbage audio guide ticket. Be aware and book tickets only from machines. Italian railway ticket staff are super dishonest and should be in jail.
