I always buy an annual pass which is totally worth it. Cost is 2000 Yen which becomes free by just visiting this place 3 times in a year. On top of it, annual pass is valid for Kanazawa Zoo as well. Hence, 2 birds with 1 stone!

To be honest, I had higher expectations considering the size of the place. The variety of animals is surprisingly limited. The birds are confined to small, dim cages, while a significant portion of the zoo consists of vast open areas filled with either forest or grass.
