One of the best transit hotels in Narita! I flew in from Taiwan and my connecting flight was the next day in the afternoon. Rather than going away from the airport to find a hotel, this capsule hotel was all I needed! I made a reservation beforehand (got the last minute deal too) so the check-in process was nice and smooth. Upon arrival, they explained to me what I needed to know to stay for the night, then they gave me a kit bag with everything I need: towels, toiletries, slippers, and even pajamas! The showers are amazing, the lockers are big enough for 1 large luggage and 1 carry-on, and the bed was quite comfortable! So, the next time you are in Tokyo for a layover and don't know where to stay, check out this little gem! You won't be disappointed!

The hotel is inside Narita Airport Terminal 2, B1. It is accessible, safe, and affordable. You can take the free shuttle bus if you are at the other terminals. Check-in at 2 pm and check out at 10 am. You can leave your things in your locker if you stay on multiple dates. You are not allowed to eat in the hotel, but you can buy food at the airport. There are many restaurants, convenience stores, and Seven Eleven is open 24 hours. It has complete amenities: locker, sleepwear, towels, slippers, toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, body soap, hairdryer, toilet/tissue papers. I stayed for two nights, and it was a great deal. Enjoy your stay!

In terminal 2. Fair walk from arrival. But confusing to find. Make sure you booked ahead. Very crowded at times. The shower has great pressure. But capsules were a bit too warm with no fan inside the capsule. The sleep bag they provide is pretty great with towels, gown, toothbrush and toothpaste. Cheaper if you book through Priceline rather than direct. No shared area so once you're in you shower or sleep. There used to be a capsule hotel in the airport where you got your own small room that you could stand in but I can't seem to find it anymore.

I stayed in around 20 Business Hotels and Capsule Hotel during my Japan Trip. This was Worst experience. Other than the location nothing favorable for the hotel. Very expensive for the quality of rooms and Facilities. On Contrast the capsule hotel at Kansai Airport was better in every aspect. And cheaper than This one. Suggestions to avoid this place. This place needs to reduce price to justify poor facilities.

This was our first pod hotel experience, having a morning flight from Narita. In terms of location: you can't fault it, absolutely perfect. The facilities are nice and you get a well equipped amenity kit, as well as a private locker. However, this is a BASIC accommodation. Be aware that the pods have NO air-conditioning (or just basic ventilation). So you might have to have the blinds open to even get air in. The mattress is thin and I mean thin. The concept is cool, however the issues arise with it being too many in one dorm. They should have built three dorms ideally and separated the occupants by estimated check-out time as alarms started going off from around 3AM. The could easily have done a similar system by organising the bookings of pods in a similar manner. Need to get a early flight? Sure, why not. Want to try a cool pod experience? DON'T book here, find another place far away from an airport.

Really a neat experience. Your pod has its own charger ports, lights, background sounds/speaker and a bit of air cooling. the pod was very big did not feel claustrophobic. You pull a blind type curtain for privacy, so it is not sound proof- but most ppl are very quiet. I love the concept of this place it’s SO ZEN and futuristic! Decent price but still not super cheap but nothing good ever is!

The unfiltered capsule hotel experience. It's a great and stress free solution to stay for a night in order to catch an early domestic flight. Clean bed, rest- and bathrooms. Staff speaks English just fine for the most part. I just wish the rooms were better ventilated. It gets a bit mucky. Can't complain about noises, because I was using ear-plugs which is also provided for free with a facemask, toothbrush among other things. Some people in the reviews get the purpose of these hotels wrong. It's never meant for a long stay. I personally enjoyed my stay a lot.

I recently stayed one night at the capsule hotel in November 2023, and I couldn't be happier with the experience. The place was exceptionally clean and had a great atmosphere. I accidentally left my phone, but the staff went above and beyond by arranging its delivery promptly. I'm sincerely thankful for their outstanding service and wish them all the best. Highly recommend!

Staff were all accommodating. The only problem were some foreigners who can not follow rules of the establishment. It was clearly written no food and no loud voice inside the sleeping area, but they kept on doing it. But all in all, it was a nice 7 hrs recap before my flight.

Convenient and inexpensive hotel before a flight out of Narita. There's no reason to get the meal option as it is a starbucks gift card. As the hotel name states, it's a great place for 9 hours (8 to sleep, 1 to shower).

I've stayed at many capsule hotels before, but I did not enjoy my stay here. Yes, the capsule was clean, but everything else was problematic: the wifi turned off every few minutes which made it impossible for me to get any work done, there is no place to get water, no common area or even a lobby (you have to go outside the hotel to eat or do anything), there was only one Japan/US-style plug (no universal plug or USB port), and there was zero flexibility with check-in. I got there at 1:56pm, 4 minutes before the check-in time of 2pm, and was not allowed to begin the check-in process and had to wait outside. You can't store your luggage there before or after your stay, probably because there's no lobby. And finally, the employees don't speak English. I can't really complain because the only language listed in the booking details is Japanese, and normally, I wouldn't expect anyone outside of English-speaking countries to speak English, but I think I was taken aback because this was inside of an major international airport and there were just so many of foreign guests. The person who checked me in did not understand "what time is check-out," so I think it would be much more convenient for guests if employees had at least a very basic level of English. Finally, the A/C did not penetrate the capsules themselves while the screens were down, and I couldn't get the mosquito out of my capsule and ended up with a couple of bites. To end this review with some positives: I appreciated the no talking policy because the walls were incredibly thin and lots of people were staying just for a few hours in between flights. I also did not mind the pillow, which I know a lot of reviews have complained about - it's a typical East Asian-style neck pillow for neck support, and is supposed to be hard. I do think I would stay here again if I were stuck in Narita for several hours, but only if my stay coincided with check-in times since unlike other hotels, there's no lobby to wait in or area to leave your luggage. 3 stars because most of my complaints are consistent with the hotel descriptions (it's not like anything was blatantly misrepresented), but keeping the deduction for the lack of facilities and service.

This was my first capsule hotel and it was a bit confusing at first. The facility was very clean and contemporary. The beds in the capsules were fine but the pillows were terrible. Me and my friend both had neck issues the following morning. Check in and check out process was smooth, even though I speak no Japanese. Great option for ensuring you catch your early flights.

The place is located near the terminal 2 of Narita Airport. The checkin process if fairly simple - give your booking details and they'll check the documents and give you the keys. The male and female accommodations are separate. You're handed a bag with a night suit, towels and slippers. You can also get earplugs (suggested - if you are a light sleeper) The place is structured - Entrance - locker to store your luggage (note - only 2 bags can be stored)- you can shower and retire to your pod. The pod contains one mattress, pillow and a comforter. The temperature was moderate and I didn't need the comforter. There is also a power outlet and dimmable light switch. There was also a BGM switch but I guess that doesn't work. The pods themselves are pretty dated but serves the purpose. The experience was overall good but the towels were smelly had to change them. It could be a one off instance - but nonetheless the staff was very cooperative. Note - you need to buy your own food and beverages from the vending machines outside the gates. This is good for individuals and people on a budget. Not recommended for families and couples.

Fantastic experience. Recommend having earplugs because people come and go all night to flights. The ac isn't great in the pods so a little hot to sleep but perfect for a one night stay!

I spent one night at Nine Hours in Narita as I had arrived late with my flight. Kind and professional staff, willing to explain especially when it is the first time. Very spacious changing rooms, clean showers and equally clean and tidy beds. Although this was my first experience in a capsule hotel and although the jet leg did not allow me to sleep as I wished, I was very comfortable and was able to rest. I will definitely use your service again in the future.

My first capsule hotel experience. I'm not sure what else to compare it to so I'll do my best Staff were great and spoke good English. They give you a bag for the night which has Pj's. Slippers. A towel. Wash cloths and a tooth brush and tooth paste which was great. There are good amenities with a large locker room. Communal Showers and toilets which were clean. The bed itself was bigger than I thought it would be but from what I could tell didn't have any fans or air-conditioning so it was hot whilst the light above me was turned on. My biggest issue was actually finding the place but that may just be a me issue. I haven't travelled before at all and have never been to an airport. Eventually i realized it was next to the parking lot and started following signs for parking lot and only then did I start to see the signs for the capsule hotel. Again. It is probably my issue but I chose to stay there for peace of mind after a late flight and I was stressed out. It also wasn't cheap. Almost 100AUD for the night. I wouldn't recommend if this is your first night in Japan however, it would be very convenient if you have an early flight home.

I'm surprised there wasn't even a small charging port for my phone.. and I was very mad that the cleaning guy started making noise at 8 o'clock in the morning. .. Capsule hotels have people leave from 10 o'clock so they can clean. I paid for peace and quiet until 10 AM not to be in wake up by a guy running and sneezing in the hallway.with noisy sneakers. You ask your guests to be very quiet and respect the hotel.. and it's the employees that make the noise. But whatever I needed to sleep.

Very fun capsule hotel. My kids were dying to experience this and this did not disappoint. Very convenient at the airport. Used the capsule hotel as a layover in between our international arrival flight and domestic flight the next day. Great service. Very clean and comfortable.

  • 2/5 Ethan W. 2 months ago on Google • 10 reviews New
Stayed here for a layover but it sucked and was super hot and stuffy. They could easily add little fans or more airflow. My friend decided to sleep on the floor of the airport instead cause it was so muggy. I've stayed in a capsule hotel before that was nice so I was excited to see this as an option on my long layover. But I should've just stayed at one of the nearby airport hotels. It would've been the same price or cheaper for so much more. The mattress and pillow is very hard and thin. There's just a pull down curtain. You can hear everyone turning over, coughing, snoring, and coming and going. Hostels are better than this. The good things are that the staff was nice, it is clean, and convenient location. When I arrived without a reservation, I realized it was cheaper to book online on their website so I did that while waiting.

Perfect for what I needed. I booked a room with nine hours to avoid the chaos of getting to the airport on time with all my things the day of. I showed up the evening before my flight, checked in, showered and went to sleep. Got up and headed straight to security then my flight. No complaints. Staff were helpful and spoke English. Facility was clean and easy to access. Lockers offered plenty of space. The sleep capsules were comfortable, but my only complaint would be there was no climate control within the capsule itself so it can get stuffy. highly recommend, it's cheaper and easier than getting a hotel room near the airport for the night before. Also in a pinch i can also see it being a good emergency lodging if your hotel booking goes wrong.

I could hear the other person beside me moving a lot, sometimg eating snacks. It's good to stay here if you are very tired and can sleep soon but if not, it's hard since you can hear every small noise.

  • 4/5 Sarah 2 years ago on Google
A practical and comfortable place for simply washing up and getting some sleep. There are rules that need to be adhered to though, such as no eating and drinking in the resting area, and no talking on phones. Basically, keeping noise levels down to the minimum, since there are others who want to catch some rest too.

Clean and nice capsule hotel with good amenities, conveniently located at Narita airport T2. Reception staff was friendly. The only thing to criticize would be, that there is no USB port in the capsule to recharge your phone. There is a power socket, so you need an adapter. Also the pillars were not our favorite (the filling are some sort of peals). However, overall we were satisfied with our stay. It's a good option to spend the night if your flight leaves early. We can recommend it. (Our stay was 1 night, 1 male, 1 female.)

  • 3/5 Austin B. 6 months ago on Google
The capsule is spacious and the checkin process is well organised. The location is great (noting it takes about 20 minutes via free shuttle bus to get from reception to Terminal 1). However, there is poor ventilation in the capsule - the air conditioning comes from the corridor outside, and if you close the privacy curtain it becomes stuffy. I slept with the curtain to corridor open which wasn’t ideal. Also, the mattress and pillow are quite firm. They only give you towel for one shower - I suspect most passengers want to shower in morning! So take your towel into capsule so you can use in morning.

Stayed here for next day transit. Very convenient location. Helpful staff. Reasonable facility for one night sleep. If it's for staying with partner, I would not use, but if I travel alone and need a bed for transit, I definitely use this accommodation.

We made a reservation to give it a try as a fun experience. Upon arrival, we really liked what we saw. The place was extremely clean and we loved the amenities. You get a bag with toothbrush, toothpaste, a set of bath, hand and floor towel, and pajamas. It's located in terminal 2 which was perfect since we have arrived at this terminal. Therefore, it was a short walk for us. The lockers fit one carry on and they can storage your bigger luggage. Plenty of showers and toilets available as well. The pods are clean, with a blanket and a pillow. It has one plug available so bring a surge for multiple devices. You can't adjust the temperature, so be prepared to bring extra blanket if you feel cold or perhaps a small fan if you feel hot. The pod doesn't feel that small. However, around 3am, an alarm went off and the person didn't turn it off. We had to inform the person to turn it off. It rang again a few minutes later and we had to tell the person once again. If it wasn't for the alarm, I would have been a pleasant experience. Overall, it was a nice experience but not ideal for light sleepers. Ear plugs are a must.

My flight got delayed and they were most accommodating. For a nap, they provide a pair of slippers, three towels, a bathing suit, toothbrush and toothpaste, and ear plugs (all in the mesh bag in the photo). The locker is big and the shower comfy. The only downside is that I hear others walking down the corridor and moving in their capsules but with this price and services it's outstanding.

Excellent place to stay. Missed our flight back home to Brisbane, walked to terminal 2 and into 9 hours reception. Got us sorted with a capsule each person within 10 minutes. Reasonable amenities and they provided toiletries, slippers, towels. Price was also reasonable considering it was last minute booking. Thank you 9Hours

A very convenient way to have a rest and a reinvigorating shower during a long stopover while in Narita, or getting ready for an early flight next morning. Located next to Terminal 2. Very clean and functional. The locker is big enough for one large luggage. You are provided with a set of towels, sleepers and even a sleeping gown. Also basic amenities. In the middle of Covid, Yoshinoya and a convenience store are operating 24 hours in Terminal 2. Of course you can stay for more than nine hours, but no later than 10 am.

  • 3/5 Y 1 year ago on Google
The facilities are nice, but there was a person coughing continuously throughout the night. I think he kept the whole hotel awake. It sounded like he had Covid. Since it is a communal space, this is not a safe situation for the guests. I highly encourage the hotel staff to implement a stricter monitoring system for the guests. Ask visitors to submit a health form and only allow guests who don’t show Covid symptoms.

Shower rooms (male) were old and in bad condition. Floor tiles was dirty and felt pretty gross to shower in there. Beds and common areas outside of the toilet were clean and properly maintained though. The staff were respectful and courteous and overall the stay was quite good.

Close, convenient, clean and tidy. Only gripe is the 10:00am check out time. Not so great when one's flight is in the late afternoon...

It was the best choice for my overnight stay at the airport!! Highly appreciate the utilities. Better if the lockers are bit more spacious enough. Loved the place!

The hotel is very convenient if you have an early flight. Very accommodating and foreigner friendly especially the staff can speak english. Locker is spacious, and they provide you with basic needs. Not recommended if you have kids since you need to stay quiet all the time. The only downfall for me was the capsule, it was hot inside, it took me time to sleep since I can’t sleep immediately if it’s hot but overall it was fine. Not recommended also for people who are scared of small places.

Best pre-flight stay experience ever! Loved the music box version of Disney BGM and the clean towels and pajamas. They even had toothbrush set and hair dryer. It has all you need to get ready for catching early flights.

Enjoyed my stay at a capsule hotel at Narita Airport in Tokyo. I had an early flight so it was super convenient. It was Interesting. Check in was fast and easy. The staff was professional and friendly. The facility was clean and quiet. The proce was fair and the location was perfect. I slept well and checked out in the morning in time for my flight. I will stay here again.

  • 4/5 Asmond C. 1 year ago on Google
it was comfortable, clean and convenient - perfect for catching a super early flight. Only thing I would say is I would have preferred that they tried to spread us up around the whole space. Most of us were all in the same area/corner whereas other parts of the capsules were totally empty. Its just me nitpicking here but other than that it was lovely!

  • 4/5 Kristin N. 1 year ago on Google
Louder than other capsule hotels I've stayed at due to the nature of the airport (people leaving/arriving at different hours, people not understanding the rules or being as quiet as others). It's still a great resource to utilize while traveling and it offers a super convenient location

  • 5/5 Izabela N. 1 year ago on Google
I really enjoyed my stay there, it’s a very convenient place to sleep if you need some rest in between your flights. Hotel is located right at the airport so there’s no need to exit the building. Clean and quiet, also some amenities are provided.

  • 5/5 Adelia N. 1 year ago on Google
Staff are helpful and humble. My luggage is too big for its locker and public locker. Fortunately they let me to keep it in their room. The bed is big enough for me, not that narrow. This hotel is the best choice for everyone who wants to catch up their early flight.

  • 2/5 Chia 1 year ago on Google
They supply a locker for suitcases but it is not big enough for 2 large cases. Lifting a heavy case and putting it on a shelf inside the locker was a hard work. As other guests walked pass in front of my capsule all night, I couldn't sleep much.

  • 5/5 Glenvicia S. 10 months ago on Google
Super convenient 1 min walk away from the train station (with clear directions). Straightforward, fuss free. Lockers, pyjamas, towels, and basic toiletries provided. Check in > Shower > Sleep > Check out. Only minor complaints. The capsule was slightly stuffy as there is no fan/ AC. But the room containing the capsules were cold enough. The capsules are also not soundproof, so I could still hear people shuffling in and out. The staff provided earbuds so I managed to still get quality sleep. 👍🏼

  • 4/5 Sean C. 8 months ago on Google
The pods are little worn, but very clean. Remember to bring a plug to be able to charge your device in the pod. The newer pods that I have been have built in USB plugs. Locker area, bathroom and shower are very well kept. Service was quick and super efficient. Excellent English by all the staff that I encountered. It is in the parking building across from T2, you can get across from 3 different levels. Just keep an eye out for their sign. Will definitely use them again on my next layover.

Capsule hotel located within Narita Airport Terminal 2. I found the capsules of Nine Hours franchise to be quite pleasant to sleep in, as the space is not too small, and most edges are rounded, meaning that you can sit up (if you are short like me) and lean on the sides quite comfortably. Even though it is not sound proof, but the people were generally quiet, even though most of the capsules were taken up on the night I was staying there, I was able to get quite a comfortable sleep (though there was someone snoring quite loudly, she was not located beside me, fortunately). Shared spaces were clean, though there is no lounge at this location. Overall, good experience and I will stay again if required. Narita airport has quite a lot of food and souvenir shop options, and if all else is closed, there are also convenience shops.

  • 4/5 Jaida M. 10 months ago on Google
Conveniently located right in the terminal so perfect for overnight stays for early AM flights. Foreigner-friendly, provides basic necessities. Separated by gender. Large lockers enough for 1 big luggage and your carry on items. Private shower rooms, corners of the shower could use some deeper scrubbing but overall the space was very clean (speaking on behalf of female section, supposedly mens wasn’t as such). Capsules were a bit hot in my opinion, but not unbearable. Wouldn’t recommend bringing kids as its a very quiet and an enclosed space.

  • 3/5 charlotte h. 1 year ago on Google
Its perfectly efficient and very close to terminal 2. The staff speak English very well. I was surprised not to find a power outlet in my capsule to charge my phone! They only provide a usb plug in (which I can't use). Charging a phone is essential. Also, I would recommend they install a water dispenser so that people can refill bottles. I wasn't sure if water from the sinks is drinkable (the hotel is inside a terminal building). Overall, it's fine if you've got an early flight

  • 5/5 Evelyne 1 year ago on Google
Love the place. Although can be loud, as this is very good spot, it's very comfortable for 1-2nights if you are flying in/out of the Narita Airport. The staff is very nice and speaks English. A lot of space for luggage and personal belongings. Lots of showers and toilets, as well as sinks and space for make up etc, so you don't have to queue. I love they provide fresh towels, pijama, slippers and earplugs. I'm very positively surprised with this place. Separate pods for men and females. Much recommended!

Excellent and efficient stay at NRT. I arrived after a long flight from the US and stayed here before flying to Sapporo the next morning. It was perfect to rest and take a shower after a long travel day. Right across from T2, there are plenty of food options nearby. The bathrooms were very clean, and the pod was comfortable besides the pillow. There was one person talking on their cell phone at night, but it was quickly shut down. I would stay here again on a layover or even for day use!

My first capsule experience. After two long flights and around 20 hours of travelling it was good to check in to 9h hotel. Clean and quiet with the best shower I have had in ages -very refreshing and brought me back to life! Next morning jumped on the limousine bus to Shinjuku.

  • 4/5 BH C. 7 months ago on Google
The service and conditions were good, but I wasn't able to get good sleep for a couple of reasons. Maybe this only applies to people who are more sensitive to shaking/noise. 1. I feel slight shaking over the night. Could be due to other people moving in/out. My capsule is on the higher floor (need to climb a few footholds to access) if this info matters 2. There is very little room to place your phone/wallet etc. that you would rather carry on yourself. Would definitely be better to have a small pocket where you can store these items. And to have a lock on the capsule, I think. 3. Its not fully noise-proof. For people who are sensitive to noise, I would not recommend staying in a capsule hotel.

I had a wonderful experience. at my stay. The lady at the receptionist was a trainee (from her nametag), but did an excellent job. She was very polite and professional. After and tiring flight, I was happy for the kind treatment. The bed was clean and comfortable, and hotel provided what I needed for a good stay (like slippers, toothbrush, and towels). All the workers, like the cleaners, were very hard working and professional. I would recommend to any looking for a good sleep after a long flight, and/or a long layover.

Everything at Nine Hours met my needs, as an individual looking for very last minute accommodations after a canceled flight was rescheduled to the next morning. The staff was very accommodating, helpful, and cheerful. All of the facilities (showers, sinks, toilets, capsules, lockers, etc.) and amenities (towels, sheets, pillows, slippers, etc.) were clean and comfortable. The only reason I did not provide five stars was that the capsules did not have charging outlets. I was also expecting the capsules to close up, however, instead of a door or "hatch" they only had a shade that could be pulled down. This meant that ambient noise was louder than I expected. While most people were very quiet and respectful, there was some chatting and snoring that could be annoying (they do offer earplugs). All in all, if I was in the same situation, I would definitely say at Nine Hours again.
