Maravu is the perfect resort for those looking to experience Fiji not from the perspective of a typical westernized resort tailored for tourism, but rather to immerse themselves in the local Fijian culture. It is surrounded by villages where the islanders welcome you with joy and invite you to share a glimpse of their lives. It's close to several trekking trails and waterfalls with stunning views to enjoy during the day, and it offers a warm, inviting atmosphere at night. Everyone is welcome to listen to music led by Kali (who has the most beautiful voice I've heard in a long time) and, for those who want to try it, enjoy some kava with him. I highly recommend it whether you're traveling solo or with friends. The resort organizes all excursions directly and offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner menus, making your stay even easier. For quieter days, the pool is a fantastic option—great for meeting people or simply relaxing alone with a book.

Very impressive little gem in Taveuni. All the staff were so kind and laid back. They were all amazing and I never once felt like it was about money, but rather about providing a good experience for guests because that is what Fijians do. Mateo and Rafa were excellent tour guides that really went above and beyond to take care of me. I can't recommend this place enough. See you again, Maravu :)

Absolutely wonderful stay! Cannot recommend highly enough. As soon as we arrived we felt so welcomed and at home. Location is great, walking distance to other restaurants and beach. The staff is lovely and friendly, very easy to arrange transport or tours through them as needed. We booked the private Bure and it was a beautiful, spacious, very comfortable room with amazing views in a quiet more secluded spot, even with an outdoor shower! The restaurant has many options for breakfast and lunch and after comparing with other nearby restaurants we realised it’s very well priced. Food took a while but it’s very good, we really enjoyed eating there daily, they change dinner specials every night. Kali is such a legend, he gathers guests every night over music and kava, very good for socialising and meeting fellow guests! Taveuni is such a special place, and staying at Maravu was a wonderful, homey experience with a very local feel, would love to be back!

The maravu lodge is spectacular! The lodge is located in a coconut plantation which makes it unique and "local" experience Everyone is friendly and supportive. The chef Judi was accommodating to my friend who has special food requirements. Rafael the guide is knowledgeable and immensely emphatic and kind. His patience and openness left a strong impression on me.
