Our family wanted sun, sailing, and snorkeling while visiting Taveuni island, Fiji. We booked a 7 hour trip with Paul and Helena and quickly realized how wonderful they work together as a team - they spared no expense or effort to welcome us onto their well appointed catamarran " LOOPING. " We felt at home as they answered all of our predictable questions , like it was their first trip. They were kind, enthusiastic, accomodating and responsive to our unique needs. Paul sailed, while Helena worked in the galley to prepare a lunch which was our best meal while visiting Taveuni - her creativity and presentation ( complete with edible flowers and home grown sprouts ) of a first rate international smorgasboard ( we called it South Pacific- eastern Euro fusion ) was unexpected and most delicious. We sailed east of Matei to a small atoll, where we snorkeled alone in a beautiful bay for one hour and then enjoyed the satisfying meal under the awning while anchored there - so untouched serene and relaxing - every thing we had hoped for in the day ! We are sure Paul and Helena were looking forward to a well- earned break from sailing and entertaining that day ( near the end of their season), but the day we spent with them will go down, and be remembered, as one of the great days we have spent together as a family. PS - In the past, some have complained about the cost to sail with Paul and Helena - this trip is more than worth the price - the equipment , time , comaraderie, kindness , food , scenery , and snorkeling were first rate. And there was plenty of sun !
