Gangapur Dam is an earthfill dam on River Godavari, and the longest earthen reservoir of Asia. People come here to spend a peaceful afternoon on the garden by the river, enjoying the blissful, picturesque scenery of the river, straight out of a dream. Migratory birds can be spotted in the evening, and there is a new boating facility to attract more tourists.

Amazing experience. The cool Breeze, awesome view, very less crowd, serenity and secluded.. so it's very beautiful to spend time here Went by personal vehicle so don't know about the public transport and all. But very less people were there.

A big reservoir of water and the umbrella falls originate near this. You can enjoy boating early in the morning here and feel the fresh air. Best time to visit Bhandardhara is monsoons.

The lake is located in an isolated place and its the best to ask locals for direction once you enter tringalwadi. There are no options available for food. Good place for afternoom picnic lunch.

Best place for monsoon trip. 7-8 km from Igatpuri . The road is very scenic and beautiful. Greenery everywhere. You can go by your car near to the dam. Road condition is average. Must visit place in monsoon.

Awesome and peaceful place. Greenery all around , surrounded by mountains which adds beauty to the place. Very picturesque location. Not so crowded on weekday so one can chill here, enjoy nature and spend peaceful - relaxing time

If you love the nature then definitely this place is for you guys. Believe it feels very good when you are far away from noises of car, buses, and other noisy things and spend the time with mother nature. It's a very good walk with your close ones next to the dam. There is a long road on the hill stopping the one section of the dam's water. Away from city in the lap of nature, all you can see is the water touching feet of mountain. The time of sunset is just mind blowing, as it feels like the sun is going in the water between the mountains. Whenever you go if you like these kind of places then must pay a visit to this dam. For going there you need a permission letter from the nasik city which you can get in few minutes and it's 20 min drive from nasik city. City bus also takes you there every 20 mins. Bus will drop you at the gate of the dam.

It's a reservoir Dam. India's second longest river named Gòdāvārî had this Dam. It has biggest capacity to store water. It provides water supply to whole nashik city and nearby farms. It is India's first dam which is constructed from soil. There is place known as Back water which is so beautiful to see water and for enjoying.

Good place but no ones there, google map don't have proper location so try for a bumpy ride with lots of bad rod. It's like a off roading.. Also there's no fort there we have visited today and found that map shown just a dead end.. And the roads are super harsh to travel via bike

  • 3/5 karishma j. 4 years ago on Google
The dam has very beautiful scenary and very close from reinforest resort. Roads to reach till here are not very good, so it makes it difficult to reach here. Definitely not a place to visit during hot hours.

The Google map direction is not correct and misleading. Better ask the villagers although they are not too eager to show the path leading to the dam. If someone knows the correct route please correct the Google location.

  • 4/5 Anushka T. 3 years ago on Google
The dam is supposed to be located at the rare ends of Nashik. One needs to pass through few villages and to reach the destination. It's advisable to use bike as the road isn't well constructed. Cars can be used but on your own risk. The route to dam is surrounded by numerous mountains which could be destination for one day trek as well.

Great place for picnic with family or friend if you want to get the best view go in the evening time when the sun is about to set you will get the perfect view

  • 1/5 Cube R. 4 years ago on Google
First of all there is no dam here. It's just a low lying area surrounded by higher grounds so water collects here during the rains. Some locals allow you to do kayaking here and other water games depending on the weather. Roads to this place is very narrow and non existent. Quite easy to get lost. As for directions on the way. The route on Google maps is not accurate for this location.
