one of the best places to explore in Igatpuri. its so nice to be wrapped in the middle of water and greenery. place is easily accessible from mumvai nashik highway at Ghoti village you need to take left and proceed further, road till the end point of dam is in good condition. place is very scenic so do visit and enjoy.

Beautiful place for a quiet family time together. Its natural beauty that refreshes your mind and body. The blue waters are soothing and comforting to your heart. The sun set is worth the watch.

What an enchanting view. Just awesome during rainy season. You will definitely make a day out of your outing. You should cross the Vaitarna dam to arrive at this place. Lake on both sides of the road. Just wonderful. About an hour ride from the main highway because it's a village road, not well kept.

In rainy season you'll see a wonder. In nashik if you want to visit a paradise just visit here in rainy season and you'll be in love with this place that you'll visit again and again.

One of the best place for camping and sight seeing. Beautiful dam & Lake. Almost clear water(not completely clear) You can take your own tents and camp overnight. Seemed safe for camping and the car can be parked right next to your tents. โœŒ๏ธ

really great point, really beautiful view of sunset with long and beautiful views of dam and mountains. its really peaceful and calming. I highly recommend to visit this place and add to your tourist destinations if you are visiting nashik. Road to go here is bit confusing so check maps before and network reception is also bad you will be cut off from ouside world. If you are nature lover you will definitely love the view. Just sit there and enjoy the views of back water and sun.

Serene and mind calming location admist the mighty western ghats. Surrounded by backwater of Vaitarna dam on either sides, a drive on this road is ought to impress your senses. The narrow approach road through the countryside has its own charm of travelling through the rural India. A must visit place for the nature enthusiasts chasing water mountains and sunset, all at the same place as a true combination of natural grandeur.

Best place to visit near Ghoti & Igatpuri. Roads are in good condition to travel in any season. It's a clean and not crowded place.

Make sure to take your snacks and a few bottles of water, but please do not litter the place. I rode to the destination with a bunch of friends while it's beauty is awe inspiring I was utterly disgusted with the drunk idiots who have broken and shattered beer bottles and just left it there for others to deal with. Hold your bladders else be ready to answer nature's call in the wilderness coz there isn't any other option. The roads were decent over all but it had its fair share of bad patches in between. Best to head there mid monsoon so that the water levels get replenished and you enjoy the greenery as well as the view

This is a hidden gem island surrounded by lakes from all sides. Not commercialised at all, so a perfect getaway to nature. If you like the company of yourself, your music and people you are travelling with look no more.

Bast Place to find peace. You can come with your friends, family or any love ones. Here some good veg and non veg Hotels, restorent, privet farm Houses besides the dam water. On this road so many small bridges and at the some point road is going between dam and you can enjoy the water on your both side.

Serene tranquillity in the lap of Mother Nature. Request to all tourists NOT TO POLLUTE this place with alcohol bottles and other plastic / waste materials whosoever is visiting.

  • 5/5 Shahebaz A. 1 year ago on Google
A wonderful scenic view and an awesome Nature's Beauty..! You can enjoy your small picnic with your family and friends.. You can click awesome pictures along the water stretch and enjoy clicking sunset view. The natural ambience is so peaceful that you can't count the time spent.. "A Humble Request NOT to enter into the water" As its not a river or sea side, you don't know the depth their and can't judge.. Please avoid getting into the water specially take care of your children's.. You can enjoy the time spent. You can bring in your foods and snacks to enjoy.. You cant get anything at the site through you can buy some chips and biscuits from the nearby village. Also you can try VadaPav and Jalebi.. From a road side setup before you take left(coming from Nashik) to get onto the Vaitarna Dam road. Enjoy Your Time..!

Very good place to visit if you are in Nashik or around Igatpuri. You can visit this place at evening to experience sunset view. Please carry food items with you as there are no eateries here, but please carry back all the disposable/waste with you back. Enjoy.....

Went in first week of Oct. So it was hot due to oct heat. But could find good place to sit under the tree just beside the dam with a fabulous view. Spent some great time with my daughter and wife. Had visited in monsoon also. Was great weather back then. Ideal time to visit is monsoon or nov - Jan when weather is cool due to winters. Good spot if you look to spend quality outdoor fun time with family

Cool place for 1 day picnic, but don't spoil location putting garbage.

  • 4/5 Prasad S. 3 years ago on Google
Nice place for a family picnic and short drive from Mumbai /Nashik

  • 3/5 Ritveik B. 3 years ago on Google
The picnic spot is basically a road with varying terrain on its either side where you can spread out a sheet and chill with your folks. There's a car park (with shade) before the bridge begins and an entry towards a view point but it's shut due to covid. There are a few picnic spots around the bridge and anytime of the day you'll be met with other tourists or local here just for a fun time. The sunrises & sunsets are a steal. But highly depends upon the month of the year, sometimes you'll get a splendid clear sky with sun rays piercing through the clouds & sometimes a hazy blur horizon. There isn't much to see at the view point honestly. But it's a chill place to be with closed ones and talk and have a good time. People do leave behind a lot of garbage, get responsible citizens, upgrade your civic sense.

Very serene place to sit on the grass and look at the waves of Lake Vaitarna. You can see the beautiful sun set over the lake

  • 4/5 Ankita S. 3 years ago on Google
Beautiful place with minimum human intervention. We visited the place in December 2020 and ended our trip just before the picnic point started. The vast expanse of the Lake Vaitarna on either side of the road is a beautiful sight to behold. Make sure to carry your own food and beverage if you just want to sit by the lake on one of the mounds (pls also carry your own garbage bag so that you do not litter and properly dispose off the waste once you are back). Also keep in mind that it often gets windy there and if you are someone who is irked by temperature drop then do make sure to carry extra layers with you. In order to reach the place, the route on Google maps showed us a short cut through a private property which was closed. Do not lose heart! Just keep following the road which brought you here and the map would reroute to bring you to the lake (maybe an extra 20 minutes drive).

A beauty. The well spent there you can have a great view of sunrise as well as sunset because the backwater is at both the sides of the road.
