This
is
a
recreation
area
directly
on
the
Mississippi.
Not
a
lot
of
amenities.
Only
a
pit
toilet
that
look
a
little
sketchy
to
use.
There
is
a
boat
launch
but
the
boat
launch
piers
had
not
been
in
yet.
The
beach
can
vary
from
mud
to
sand
and
everything
in
between.
Beach
can
be
big
or
small
depending
on
how
the
river
is
that
day.
Kids
had
a
blast
swimming
in
the
river.
The
current
will
take
you
from
one
end
of
the
beach
to
the
other.
It's
fun,
but
take
care.
There
are
railroad
tracks
with
active
trains
(many!)
bordering
the
park.
Parking
is
free
and
plentiful
but
gravel.
No
swimming
ropes,
swim
area
buoys,
or
lifeguard.
Kids
had
a
lot
of
fun
catching
minnows.
