Since being purchased by HCA, this hospital appears to have lost it's entire moral compass and responsibility to provide adequate patient care. The lack of care patients receive is astounding and speaks to the urgent need for systemic change in the way they operate immediately. My father has not received meals, medicine nor proper amounts of insulin during his stay. At times, he was refused insulin entirely and had to have it brought to the hospital to manage his blood sugar correctly. I'll say that again, he had to bring in his own medicine to the hospital... !!! While there are few doctors and nurses that seem to genuinely care for their patients well-being, most treat them as strange names on a clipboard with no regard for their well-being. This hospital is a perfect example of what happens when you put profit over people.

I want to start on a good note and recognize standout individuals who did a great job in their own right: Melvin (RN), Pam (RN), the awesome stoma nurses Rita and Brittany, April (PA), Jason (med tech). Only a few others whose names fail me right now, please forgive me. Now with the ugly: I will never use this hospital ever again as long as I have the choice!!! The way my mother (82 yrs old) was treated here overall was awful to say the least. The main focus appeared to be getting her out of the hospital instead of focusing on her well-being/recovery. Even though she could not walk, sit up, or barely even talk, they rushed to discharge her anyway!! When I got her home I discovered the heart monitoring box (with leads and all) was still attached to her under the hospital gown she was still wearing! I won't even go into the medication debacle. Communication and follow-up is virtually non-existent as well. After I called home health services the next day, the hospital had not even notified them my Mother had been discharged. I honestly could write a book for this three-week ordeal but I'm already exhausted trying to take care of my Mother. Go there at your own peril, you've been warned!!!!

STAY AWAY. Unprofessional and incompetent so called ER “physicians” and “nurses” alike. The left hand doesn’t know what the right hand is doing at this place. Everyone was doing the bare minimum when it came to caring for my wife after a major MVA. No communication whatsoever between the nurses and doctors or the family. We were constantly having to ask questions and would routinely get generic and generally unhelpful responses. Everyone was rude and had no bedside manner. Not a single person was impressive to us or went out of their way in regards to patient care or letting the family know what was going on throughout the day/night. Prescriptions were ordered to the wrong location and even something as simple as a correct address wasn't updated. Complete opposite of thorough and attentive to detail, which is simply scary for an environment like this one. Terrible experience at every turn and you’re clearly just a number at this dump. Once you’re released, they do not care about you any longer and good luck reaching a doctor that “cared” for your loved one. What a circus… STAY AWAY.

I had an amazing experience!! The nurses that stood all around my bed were so awesome! They were supportive, sweet and so encouraging while I was having my baby! I felt like this was the equivalent to a 5 star hotel because the amount of attention I received from everyone here! This was my first time at this particular hospital, but it was such a wow experience!! Britney was my dedicated nurse when I went in to have my baby and I truly was blessed with her! I felt like she was so attentive and practically saved my life and my baby’s when my heart rate went down quickly and she quickly reacted and got me back where I needed to be! Thank you so much Britney and HCA staff! Y’all are the BEST!

I recently gave birth here at HCA, it was an amazing experience. From the time I walked in, from the time I was discharged. Ashlin in Labor & Delivery was the best nurse ever. She was there with me all morning until I was moved to postpartum. She kept me laughing while waiting for my cesarean & was there to hold me while I got that scary epidural. My whole birthing staff was great. If I could handpick them for my next child, I’ll be so happy to have them every time.

Horrible patient care by Doctor and nurses. My son was hit by a truck crossing a street and was brought in via ambulance. They only kept him a total of 4 hours. The nurses were rude and too busy visiting at the desk to be bothered with questions about what the plan was to check and make sure there were no internal injuries. The doctor who stitched up his ear disappeared with no solid answer to the question either. Short time later nurse shows up in the room with wheelchair releasing him. Seems to me you may want to keep somebody longer than 4 hours whose body was just hit by a truck who could barely walk and was fainting upon sitting up. Total negligence. I hope their loved ones never suffer treatment like they rendered.

They were treating patients in the halls and waiting room, giving them medications including IV’s. Doctors and nurses were in the waiting room talking to patients on their treatment violating patient confidentiality.

This was a terrible place to visit. I was having abdomen pain, had to wait 4 hours for any pain medication. They did blood test,CT scan, and ultra sound. They said I had "gallstones" that was causing my pain. They had no intention on letting me lay down on a hospital bed but let me walk around with an IV drip and I stayed awake all night. I was exhausted I also had an accident in my pants couldn't get a nurse to attend to me to give me a change of clothes. Doctor kept procrastinating on wether I should have surgury or not. I was desperate to just get discharged which took another 10 hours to happen and when I had asked to get discharged, nurse had an attitude. Like really? I got no medical attention when I really needed it and your the one in the bad mood. No longer will I come to this hospital for any help, in all reality this place is made of too many stuck up overworked nurses who don't have time for you.

I received wonderful care from the labor and delivery nurses, especially Kristy! So friendly, kind, and attentive to my needs. I appreciate everything she did for me. Made me feel comfortable. Postpartum nurses were also so great and friendly and they made my stay there comfortable too. Great experience all around!

My experience was great! in Labor & Delivery, Asia and Embassy were PHENOMENAL. Words cannot express how much i appreciated them throughout my entire labor and delivery! They made it so easy for me. In postpartum, Kacy and Ashlen were also phenomenal! the only thing that was a bit upsetting was the discharge. we were told we were going to be discharged the next day and ended up having to stay another night. Other than that, i recommend!

I delivered my firstborn a little over a week ago and had an wonderful experience with the L&D and Postpartum atmosphere and staff. The rooms were clean, staff was exceptionally attentive and I felt like me and my baby were in the best hands possible when I had no idea what I was doing. The nurses were on top of their game, made me feel comfortable, and we’re exceptionally knowledgeable. Thank you for making my first experience giving birth a beautiful one!

Nice visit for baby #2. The L&D nurses are great, and so are the ones in postpartum. Clean hospital, clean OR (had repeat c section). Also nurse in l&d triage was super sweet and despite how busy she was she took great of me and baby while we were getting monitored. I can be a difficult patient but all the staff i came in contact with were patient and kind. Props to the all the l&d nurses and postpartum nurses and everyone in the baby department in general!

My daughter had an asthma attack at school and the school ended up sending her here and I was really upset at first because of the last experience I had in the emergency room a while back ago. I'm still having issues to this day! I'm still in pain and I felt like they did nothing at all to help me I sat in a waiting room with people that looked like they had been there for hours on end way worse then I felt and no one came to check on anyone for almost two hours. I sat in this waiting room with a cup full of my urine for over an hour until I finally got tired of holding it and handed to a nurse. I'll personally never go there for myself again! I understand they are probably short staff but just about every employee I came into contact with was rude short tempered or acted like they didn't have the time for me. But why I'm giving them a 5 start rating is ALL because of the Pediatric Center!!!! The pediatric center when above and beyond for my daughter they took amazing care of her and I finally found out she really does have asthma! The nurses and the doctor we seen were so amazing and took the time with us !!!!!I can not thank them enough 🥰I wish I could remember there names so I could send a card for each and every one of y'all who took care of my daughter! My daughter felt so comfortable with everyone in that unit! Again thank yall so much and my daughter waited me to say a BIG THANK YOU TO her day nurse. She was the best wish we could remember her name. My daughter was in there from Monday 1/24 until 1/25 . I HOPE YOU SEE THIS AND KNOW HOW MUCH WE APPRECIATE YOU AND YOU'RE KIND HEART.

HCA Houston Healthcare Clear Lake Labor and Delivery has been the greatest experience for my wife, son, and myself. We experienced nothing but the best accommodations and professionalism. Triage- quickly placed us in observation to monitor vitals, they took blood for labs to ensure we were not in need of an emergency C-Section. Dr Bhalani, Nurse Jennifer and their entire team were very nurturing to her pain levels and in communication with our Dr regarding her state of pain and need. Sarah and Kristen came down to to prep her for Surgery with Pre op, explained in detail everything that was going to happen, the drugs she was receiving and got us up to pre op/post op labor room. They did their best to ensure she was as comfortable as possible going into a 20hr labor. Upon shift change Sarah and Kristen made the intro and hand off to Kim tp ensure she had all the information regarding my wife. Our Doctor, Dr. Pilla arrived and came in to ensure my wife was still on the same page as far as our procedure was planned. We moved into the surgical wing, Kim ensured I was scrubbed in prior to wheeling my wife into the OP room with Dr. Nguyen and Kortney for her anesthesia/crna. Shelby the Delivery baby catcher came to get scrubbed in, introduced herself to me and explained her role. The entire team was great, they communicated well with each other and us along the way in Op. post op, we were placed back in our labor room where Kim stayed with practically the entire time monitoring both my wife and son. After a few hours we were moved to our post partum room and Kim gave Grace the introduction and run down in great detail. Grace and the post partum team were wonderful and ensured to check on us regularly and met our every need. At Shift change Grace gave Sierra the same hand off that the group had done each time before, Sierra handled day shift and was very helpful and accommodating to our needs. Super quite any time we were trying to rest. Sierra made the hand off with Mackenzie who took over the night shift, she was very sweet and ensured we always had what we needed and checked on us frequently. She was sure to answer questions in detail and ensure we always were comfortable and not needing anything. We finally decided to sleep on her shift and at the hand off with Jessie we didn't even know they were in the room they were so quiet. Jessie was amazing and once we were awake she cleaned house, she reorganized our cluttered room, through out trash and made it feel like a whole new room. She was very friendly, helpful, accommodating and speedy to execute delivery of items we requested and needs. Cynthia was our sons nurse and she was amazing, super sweet, always very helpful when in the room and so great at calming our son. The nurse techs Carolyn and Makayla were always nice, ensuring it was okay time to come in and do what they needed, always asked if we needed anything. Ginger the lactation nurse came by a few times and gave the wife great words of encouragement and told her how wonderful her and my son were doing. Taylor the head nurse and lactation nurse was very helpful. Super friendly, kind, and knowledgeable to all of our question. She also helped with ensuring I had all the names to the great team members she has. Our last night Charge nurse Kerri came in to administer care to my wifes wound from her allegories to the adhesive on the tape that was used to dress her wounds from the C- section. All in all, I could not have asked for a better team to care for my family, most wonderful experience in a hospital setting I have ever had and I am no stranger to hospital stays and labor wards. Even the janitor Emelia was awesome, always in and out, very thorough and quiet. Even gave me her number in case I needed anything from her. I would recommend this team 10 out of 10, every time. THANK YOU TO ALL THE L&D STAFF

I am happy to respond: I came into the ER via ambulance in a frightening condition. But the Staff were very friendly and helpful. My Doctor was very concerned and swift with diagnosis. He was intelligent and thorough. I relaxed. Soon my symptoms began to reverse themselves and I was sent home. Very much the better for my coming. Hospital was really lhumming, but Staff was very articulate, attentive and calm. The fact that they seemed to have things under control lowered my concern for the unknown.

Sat in Emergency waiting for 7 hours. One woman threw up all over herself and on the floor. She sat there for an hour after her husband asked for help and then left to clean up. People sitting around had to point out the "mess" to staff about two hours later when they came around, got cleaned up an hour after that. I was misdiagnosed with a back issue because the girl that did the EKG would NOT listen to (or understand) my symptoms. This makes me feel like they are just herding people through to charge the bill. I was referred by the doctor to a back doctor which I have never needed. I called their billing department to tell them they gave a wrong diagnosis. She did change the bill record. I understand emergency staff deal with stressful situations, but please show a little more kindness, people.

Very dissatisfied with the nursing help on days. Night personnel were much better. Had to wait more than one hour twice to get pain medication after surgery and a couple of times waiting to get someone to help me go to the bathroom. Finally had to go without help and suffer the negative comments for doing this without a nurse being in the room. The food was the worst that I have ever tried to eat. Other than breakfast I could not stomach the other meals. Thanks for the hospital putting ice cream right outside of my room.

My feedback has 3 parts. First was a 4 star rating for timely, courteous and efficient evaluation and diagnosis. Waited a long time to see specialist. I will call part two, waiting for a hospital room. I give this part a zero rating. I was told the day before my arrival, a massive number of people arrived through the emergency room. I waited 24 hours in a gurney and a reclining chair that recline. I was moved from a small room to a ward with 9 other waiting patients in various health conditions. Two nurses worked constantly trying to satisfy both comfort and health concerns. Relaxation or sleep was almost impossible. Under the stressed circumstances, all the hospital employees should be recognized and complimented. Part three of my visit was in my assigned hospital room. All hospital staff from cleaning crew to head nurse made me feel like I was important and this was my home away from home. Multiple people went out of their way. I can only give this a 5 rating.

I had an outpatient back surgery, a laminectomy. Everything was handled very professionally and timely. I had a bit of a wait after being prepped only because the doctor scheduled another surgery before mine that had complications. The hospital staff was great - friendly and knowledgeable. The registration process two days before took way too long. There were too many people going through the process. You have to go in for paperwork, then wait, then go in for blood work, then wait, then go in for x-ray, then wait, then go in for more paperwork - that process needs some improving, but still the people were nice to deal with. All in all a good experience and I recommend HCA Houston Clear Lake highly.

My wife arrived at the emergency room before 10:53 a.m. with stomach pain, and was placed into a space (5) to be seen . I arrived around 12:30 p.m. and was taken to that space, where my wife sat with her head in her hands, shaking her leg, in obvious discomfort. Around 1 p.m., she still had not been treated at all. I asked for an update on treatment around this time and was told that someone would be taking blood and giving her pain medication. We could hear someone say, "just go ahead and start with 5" (our space) at least twice after that, and no one came in to take blood and give pain meds. We left shortly after. I understand obviously being busy, but I could hear chatter with treating other patients, and I am not sure why she was not being treated. Hopefully, I am able to be present from the start next time to make sure we are properly communicated with and serviced.

Incompetent staff. Ignored a family member in need until we had to call the switchboard and demand to be seen. Given solid food after facial surgery and no apology or replacement. No meds called in on multiple occasions. Horrible service. DO NOT GO HERE, even in an emergency. Go to another hospital. Would give 0 stars if it let me.

If I could I would rate this place 0, Very unprofessional and careless. My brother is a patient here today. He began having a seizure AT THEIR HOSPITAL and when notified by my sister and mother , they said he was “fine” and it was “muscle spasms” They were SEIZURES! Disrespectful and careless nurse ! Also there was racism involved, our family is Hispanic, whilst the staff who were my brothers “nurses” were white. They were giving care and being courteous to other patients of their color whilst not giving a damn about my brother and what my family had to say. Nobody helped him! WORST HOSPITAL SERVICE EVER. RACIST. AND CARELESS. The attitude here is disgusting . This should not ever happen to anyone. Fix your attitude and do your job correctly, just disrespectful.

I have been to many hospitals in the past few years and I must say this hospital ranks very low. The nurses were very attentive and kind but that does not speak for the rest of my stay. The food was not good. I have no teeth and so it was very difficult to eat the meat and sometimes chicken (it was dry). Check out was the all time worse. It took my wife over 5 hours to check me out! There was no discharge summary to go home with me nor was it told to me. I did receive a call from the Nurse Navigator and I was able to ask some questions. He was helpful. Overall, my stay was mediocre,

They made sure my experience there was as comfortable as I was able to be, also took care of a patient that was fairly agitated in the best way possible. Nurses were very sweet and made sure to explain things and answer any questions I have, only issue I had was being misgendered the entire time all while my band said Male… other than that, my visit there was comfortable and I was treated fairly quickly.

I had surgery February 2023 and from the intake staff all the way to recovery everyone was so very caring and kind. I received the very best care. There was an older gentleman who checked me in and took me to my room who especially made me smile. And my recovery nurse Brittney was so very patient and attentive to all my needs. Wonderful hospital and staff!

It was good. I was in an out in timely manner. Everyone was kind an helpful. However while waiting in the exam room a couple of other Dr's. Or nurse came to get their paperwork. I was not a fan, plus one nurse left door open instead of closing it. Otherwise everything was great. Suggest to move their paperwork to a safe place so they don't come in on patients. But otherwise it was great.

HCA Houston Healthcare Clear Lake ER for almost 8 hours! It wasn't even the wait time that was as disturbing as the quality of the service and the nursing care. Mary Jane in particular was rude and I guess she didn't remember me....The YEARS I dedicated to this facility. I will never forget the care we received >>>>or should I say- did not receive by the ER. Im appalled. Do not Recommend!!!!!! We will definitely be going to UTMB from now on.

The care and passion and the nurses and staff have on labor & delivery are expectacular. They absolutely care for their patients in a very professional & compassionate way. Absolutely chose the best place to have my precious baby boy at. Go HCA of clear lake thank you so much for everything you ladies put out & for all you do! Blessings to all .

A surgery was performed in this facility. Our doctor was clear about his fees. HCA Clear Lake advised me of the remaining fees. Unfortunately it wasn’t made clear that the anesthesiologist wasn’t included in their price, although it was stated in the conversation that all the additional charges for the surgery were included in the price I was given, which was paid up front. So I was surprised when I received an additional bill for said anesthesiologist. Upon calling HCL Clear Lake, they kicked it off to the anesthesiologist, and calling the anesthesiologist, they blamed the hospital. Fortunately we don’t use hospital services much so we’re not that prepared to inquire enough to make sure there aren’t any surprises. Don’t take them at their word!!!

The care from this place has dropped significantly. I was diagnosed with a blood clot in the ER, put in the hallway with no orders, no attending dr and my nurse has been on the phone discussing his paycheck. I am in so much pain, and don't know what to do. Everything worked itself out, just very slow. It's almost 6 pm and didn't have lunch or breakfast, not a priority for my nurse. Hope I will get some dinner, been here since 5 am. It's now 7:30, still no food, so had to Doordash. No explanation as to why I didn't get lunch or dinner.

Dr Gibberman and his rehab team are simply Fabulous — they go above and beyond to meet individual needs. Great care, clean rooms and caring nursing staff exceeded expectations. In my opinion they’ve set the bar for all other Health Care providers to aspire!

Didn’t love this experience but it wasn’t awful. The worst part of my visit was the rude admin woman at the front who checks you in. She was on her cell phone chitchatting away like it was social hour when I walked in. I stood there for a moment until she was done ‘cause she just couldn’t be bothered. I never actually saw a real doctor and I’m not totally convinced that the conclusion they came to for my visit is the correct one. I will say that other than the woman in the lobby everyone seems very polite and professional. The facility was clean and they seemed to move along much faster than other places in the area.

We had the best experience with our nursing staff and doctors. We went through the worst thing in our lives and everyone was very gentle and caring with us. We were not rushed and got all the time we needed. We would highly recommend the hospital for labor and delivery.

Never thought I’d have to post an ER review. And a good one at that. I spent a week total here and I did not have a single negative experience. My issue was taken seriously, immediately and treatment was given right away instead of sending me home with a referral. All of the nurses and staff were outstanding. A horrifying moment in my life was made that much more pleasant by this hospital.

HCA Clear Lake did an amazing job tending to my health needs after my back surgery last week. The medical and nursing staff were all well trained and truly interested in making sure I was recovering well. They were all very professional yet personable. There were no problems or issues. I would highly recommend HCA Clear Lake to anyone needing inpatient hospital care.

I received excellent care when I needed to make a visit late in the evening to the ER last week. It was very busy. The waiting rooms were full with what-appeared-to-be people with flu. We learned that the hospital's beds were nearing capacity. Nevertheless, the medical personnel were extremely capable, friendly, and kind during the non-stop care that was given. Some of the patients in the waiting room felt cold, and they received blankets from the ER nurses and staff. Later I was seen by a cardiologist who was able to evaluate my health, support the procedures given to me earlier in the day by my doctor, and discharge me to continue at-home care as instructed. Thank you to everyone.

My stay from Dec 7 to 8 was very nice. The nurses and doctors were very professional and knowledgeable and kind. Everyone went out of their way to make me as comfortable as possible. The room was very clean and roomy. Nurses Roda, Sophia, Rosalyn were exceptionally nice and kind. All of the others were exceptional also but I can't remember their names. The transportation people were also very kind. The food was great. All in all, my short stay at your hospital was great and I would highly recommend the place. Thank you for your kindness and care. Pre registration was a breeze, and definity instills confidence. I was rolled in the the operating room, and laid on the table for a LONG period of time. The whole time I could hear the staff asking each other 1) How do we put the tubes together, they're different sizes, 2) What goes into this little hole, 3) The monitor isn't working. By now, my confidence in the staff was dropping quickly. I'm wondering does this staff know what they are doing? I was going to ask if I needed to do my own plumbing. Just give me the diagram. I had 3 different doctors identify themselves as my anesthesiologists. I don't know which was which. After laying on the operating table for what seemed like 3 hours, I am informed the equipment is broken, and they can't do the complete procedure at that time. The only one I really had confidence in was my cardiac surgeon and the original anesthesiologist. Once the partial surgery was complete, I was taken to a room for the night. I had eaten Wednesday evening the day before the surgery, but there was nothing delivered for me to eat Thursday after the surgery. Friday morning I asked where my breakfast was, Oh, it will be delivered in an hour. Yeah, sure. LUNCH Friday, they send me the wrong lunch, so finally 2:30 pm, I got my first meal. I've been waiting all day to be discharged. Come 6:00 pm, my discharge papers and the wrong evening meal arrive at the same time. I've never been so happy to get out of a facility. Everyone throughout the stay was friendly.

It was an non pleasant visit. Although personal was very kind and efficient in their duties. The place was full of patients, especially waiting room. With Covid-19 around it was very scary. I spent six hours in corridors of the emergency. At the end they did not give me any results of tests. They gave a bunch of papers to my wife but they contained nothing about my condition.

I had a great experience in care from the doctors and nurses but, when it came to lunch time the food prep folks were extremely late. I had a close relative bring me a meal from outside the hospital. Unfortunately for me their food arrived at about 2pm. I turned their food down since I had already eaten by then.

The care was very good, everyone was very professional, but it took 3 painful sticks and a nurse with an ultrasound to hit my vein. An artery was hit in my right arm! There should be more qualified people to do IVs. This is the first facility where I've had an MRI that had only small earplugs and no headphones to help block the noise level. One hospital even played music on the headphones, which made the experience so much more comfortable. I have sensitive ears and it was painful.

The reason I gave 3 stars was the extremely long wait in the ER waiting room waiting on a bed for 18 hours. I did get tested for covid and was negative. After i got a room the care was great. The nurses and care teams that cared for me were awesome all my needs were met.

I would like to thank all of the staff that helped me get my x-rays today. From the receptionist to the nurses assistant or nurse to the X-ray technicians the registration assistant and everyone in between thank you from the bottom of my heart thank you!!! I came in for x-rays for sciatica today and could barely make it in the building, once inside I sat down on the floor and started crying. Immediately a kind caring woman came to help me along with the receptionist and another nurse and they got me into a wheelchair. Thank you to the registration assistant who quickly got me registered and thank you to the sweet nurse or assistant who kept pushing me around in the wheelchair, comforting me in my agony. Jesus was with us.....😉 Thank you to the caring X-ray technicians who were very kind and compassionate, and patient. You all deserve a big raise and you all definetely deserve to be praised. You are all walking angels and I just wanted to say ALL 5 stars go to you!!! All of the women and men who so graciously helped a fellow human being. This is what we have to get back to; compassion, caring and love and I just had to give you this 5 Star rating today because you deserve it, and I was unable to thank you enough before! May God bless and protect each and everyone of you and your families! ☝️❤️‍🩹🙏

I visited the Day Surgery Unit on December 22,2021 and found everyone to be kind and caring. My surgery was over quickly with no problems. The anesthesiologist asked me questions that let me know that he had read my medical history and was quite aware of any medical conditions. Every staff introduced themselves to me my name and job title. Nice to have this service so close to home and not have to go into the Medical Center traffic.
