Must Visit place, if someone wants to lean about Goa and its rich history, its people and its culture. Beautiful place loved every bit of it. People are helpful and you need to buy a seperate ticket for photography if you wish. Great place to buy some souvenir such as Hand Painted tiles by Mario Miranda. Visit during evening or relatively early morning to avoid afternoon heat.

A very detailed and informative way of showcasing Goan Heritage. The place itself is very well maintained and all covid protocols are in place. The drive to this place is also very beautiful.

It was a great experience. Big foot gives a deep dive jnto the culture of Goa. The ticket price per person is 100 rupees. It is very well built and is neat and clean. There are volunteers who will take you through the various sections of the place and a very engaging audio will keep on playing in the background informing you about the various people and the culture of Goa. A must visit place, especially with children to give tme a great audio and visual experience.

It gives a really good idea about the Goan culture and the way people lived in old times. The details are communicated either in English or Hindi or Konkani. Ticket costs 100 rupees per person and 20 per camera or if one wants to take a photo or video even on phone. Not many pay for that though. Parking isn’t an issue.

If you want to learn about Goa, the life of people then this is where you should start. They charge 100 Rs for a ticket and 20 Rs for camera , you have amazing photo opportunities here and it’s fun. The best part is that there is a big Mario Miranda cartoon you can find here. There is world’s largest laterite stone structure, you can easily spend couple of hours roaming around. Parking is available and there are guides and audio options available. Good place for family.

Done painstakingly very well. People who created this should be very passionate about what they are doing. Every statuse in all these stations (70+) have attention to the detail. For 100 rupees entrance fee it is more than worth it.

It was great experience with family to see Goan culture with the help of audio guide. One can explore this place only by foot. There are staircases at some places. Overall it took around 1 hour to explore the place. So person who can not walk for more than 5-10minutes, shouldn't go. Entry fee 100 per person.

This was called "Ancestral Goa" on our itinerary. The Big Foot Museum is a recreation of a Goan Portughese village. A good glimpse of the past. Just wished that the place was larger and had some real people and real goods. During my visit the shops inside the "village" were all closed.

Really good place... It's not a "museum" where artifacts are kept in cages and only for display, but a olden "setting" where an olden house is kept with all the artifacts. A very recommendable place. Really interesting for those keen in the bygone era 10/10 👍🏼

Great for kids and people who would like to understand life in Goa in the past and even present to an extent. The sculptures are colourful, realistic and depicts local Goan cultural life amidst beautiful greenery. While not a major trek, there's quite a bit to walk around. The plantation around is a joy to walk amongst. The tours are structured and guided, you can't roam around as such on your own. They are very mindful of covid restrictions in terms of keeping distance and sanitizing.

Excellent place to spend about an hour especially with kids. It has an audio visual walking tour of the history of Goan culture and heritage. The statues depicting rural life are maintained well. Adult tickets are Rs.150/head. Unique rock sculpture of Mirabai, which is the longest laterite rock sculpture is part of the museum.

Big Foot is a sort of museum raised and or constructed with the help of human statues. On your visit you will come to know about the life of old n ancient Goa people. It is a popular place particularly amongst the foreign tourists because of it's uniqueness and beautification. The place is well thoughtfully carved and managed professionally. If you are visiting Goa no harm in visiting it to experience an unique opportunity to explore Goa.

There's a handicrafts store at the end of of tour where you can pick unique, local souvenirs. Big Foot is definitely worth a visit.

The Ancestral Goa Center is the creation of a local artist Maendra Jocelino Araujo Alvares. It captures Goan village life as it used to be, a century ago. It is also known as the ‘Big Foot’ Cross Museum for its sizeable foot-shaped dance floor. It was created for preserving the culture and traditions of the region, for future generations. A visit to the museum offers a peek into some of Goa’s unique traditions like brewing feni, a local spirit made from cashews. The giant 46 feet sculpture of Mirabai carved in 30 days by Alvares himself, is also popular. It has entered the Limca book of records for being the longest laterite sculpture in India. Very nice place to visit with kids and family. There is a basic fee of ₹100 for adults, ₹50 for kids and ₹20 for moblile or other photography. It shows the ancestral goan culture. The sculptures are beautifully crafted, they look very realistic. The place has a good green cover so even when we visited in afternoon, we felt comfortable. The place has sufficient parking. The place is very clean and maintained. There are good eat outs within 4-5 Km if you search in Google.

Suitable for those who are unaware of Indian up bringing. This place shows you a private property and living of a Goan family. Decent ticket cost but they charge extra for photography. May find boring if you are expecting something exciting or fun. If you are an Indian, you may have seen most of the things already which they show. Not a must visit but can be visited in leisure time.

Worth visiting the museum, the sculptures are life sized, it tells the story of Goa's culture and tradition. Kids enjoyed a lot. It is a picturesque spot no doubt. Make sure you wear some monochromatic dress because background so vibrant and colourful, for you to stand out in the picture wear plain colour. It is set up outdoor on the slope of the hill, little bit of climbing and slopes are there for senior citizen above 70 plus will be a challenge.

This is a very well maintained place and is a must visit for all tourists. The place gives a glampse of the old goa, its people and traditions. Also has a very good self explainative guide system through speakers and also guides. The place charges a minimal amount of Rs 100 per person as entry fee. It also has a statue of mirabai inside which holds records in various books like limca book of world records and indian heritage records for being the longest single laterite stone statue and looks pretty good. The most amazing thing is that the place has been updated from time to time and also has selfie points and latest technologies to get people evolved with the things dipicted here. Overall its a good place to go with family and friends of all age. This place can be visited at any time of the year.

There are two places to see here. As mentioned in google it is not a cross museum. This place has a Portuguese House fully furnished owner by Alvarez family, well preserved, which is converted into a museum. Then there is this hand made old Goan village right opposite to the house. You see the old Goan culture and there is also a botanical Garden. There is also a Saint Mirabai Laterite carved structure which is mentioned in Limca Book, Guinness Book for being the biggest and fastest carved structure. Many bollywood movies are also shot here.

This place is worth visiting atleast once if not visited. Along with this one needs to visit the Portuguese house right opposite to the big foot. This place is all age group friendly. Here you get right and narrated information of Goan art and culture through recorded tapes and sculptures been displayed. This place depicts stories in an order which makes the tour more interesting. It takes about 90-120mins.to completely check what it offers. This place also has some kid friendly activities. It also has refreshment stall, an art gallery and a souvenir shop. Such a lovely place filled with heritage. Feels proud to be a Goan after visiting here. Very well maintained and clean, staff is friendly. The cost is 100rs per head. They had a gift for each family too. One thing to buy here is the magic lamp or magic dia. The cost of which starts from 150 rs each it's palm size of a length and very genuine( since I was gifted one many yrs ago). The Mira Bai statue and foot of Mahaveer are the show stealers.

Must place to visit when in goa. The tour is guided by audio which is started when you enter the ancestral museum. The audio is available in many languages. The audio is self timed and guides you to move around and explains about the place, heritage, culture, folkore of Goa. It has explained very well. It has a small display of pets comprising of parakeet, ducks, pigeons, turtle. The history of big foot is explained in the audio. Also every place has written notes in english/hindi. It has the largest sculpture made of rock ie., meera Bai. The place houses a fountain with lots of tortoise. The place also has on display different types of Tulsi, herbs, vegetation with names on display. The souvenier shop in the end is also good to visit.

Awesome traditional ancestor goan culture feel there All is very good and happy place I really recommend this attraction please visit this Ancestral Goa encapsulates a vintage patina from when the sun cast sepia hues upon Goa’s famed unbroken coastline. It is situated in the sleepy hamlet of Lotoulim, a village that was home to famed sons of the soil, illustrative chronicler Mario Miranda and violin virtuoso maestro Emiliano da Cruz. Loutolim is a short drive from Goa’s capital city Panaji and an intriguing pitstop while further foraying into South Goa. Ancestral Goa is open to visitors all days of the year, from 9 am to 6 pm.

Its a good place to visit with kids .. the thing I didn't like was they charge separately for the Portuguese museum and the the Indian. We saw the Indian museum. Its was ice. They charged Rs100 / adult , Rs 50 for children. And Rs 25 for photography.

A beautiful, scenic and calm place, depicting Goan heritage. A lovely green space for plant lovers. There are many souvenir shops at the end, with lovely artifacts.

Loved the way the History/Architecture and everything related to The House of Mr Alvares. That period has been kept alive and safe. Heard that the family went to great lengths to keep the memories intact. Great work, appreciated and loved every bit.

Very beautiful theme park. Loved it. The way they have arranged the pathway thinking of aged visitors shows how thoughtful they are. All the announcements are very informative. The big foot film idea is very good. All the written information is good. Due to the paucity of time, I could not write a review of the place in the book provided by them. But very impressed.

If one is really interested to know about goan culture then this is a go to place. Best place where you could get to know in detail about goan culture. Apart from sculptures, they have nice audio in multiple languages, which keeps running periodically so that you can enjoy the place along with commentary. Loved the place. Should be on the bucket list for all the tourists. I would definitely love to come back here and go through the experience again.

I had a wonderful time at this museum It shows Goa's traditional lifestyle and how Goa was . This museum is very good for kids to understand Goa's traditional lifestyle Kids can have fun while learning and gaining knowledge This museum is like a small village and they have made many small houses representing different types of jobs that person would do They even have shops selling homemade chocolates and at the end of the museum there are souvenir shops. They have a parking lot so there is no problem for parking and the ticket prices are reasonable. It is worth going to this Museum .

The big foot Goa is one of its kind place depicting ancient Goan village culture and the history of big foot.. The concept is good in the sense that visitors are provided a guided tour of the place with an audio commentary. However, in between if one stays at a point for long, the audio commentary continues and doesn’t wait for the visitor. So visitor has to catch up with the commentary. But it’s heaven for photography.

Big foot museum - has two parts - one is the Ancestral Goa Museum - which shows all the Goan culture and tradition through various statues and decors . It was so realistic. The and Museum was well illustrated. It also has very interesting souvenirs with heritage. We could also get Goa cashew sweets and kokum water on the way. Another one is the ‘ case Araujo Alvares’ - which is like a folklore Museum concept - every space of the house was very detailed explanation with audio’s and guides. Is felt so antique and the antiques were so well maintained. We could clearly get a very good vision of our old tradition by walking through this.

Perfect place if you want to know about old goa. Everything is explained to you very well through speakers as you keep moving forward. There are few shops as well where you can shop sweets, jewellery, drinks etc. As it is really good for kids and adults with intrest of culture. You'll get to know proper Goan culture.

The prices are being charged high as compared to items type and numbers displayed. The price should be half. This is actually not worth to pay a single visit. However, if you had enough time and no other place left to visit. Then you can visit this site. This can be a good places for visit only for children.

Big foot museum has depicted good culture and with well decorated art and sculptures. The shops inside museum are selling bad products with misleading information just to sell it. A sovereign shop selling some magical diyas, lady is selling it for 400-700 and product is cheap. Overall the experience of big foot is good. Mr. Mahindra has made good efforts to present variety of culture, occupation, and even plants.

The concept of the audio visual walking tour with life sized statues is nice but more suited for kids than adults. Did not find it worth the Rs.150/- entry fee. Avoid going after 12 noon as it gets very hot and sunny and the tour is outdoors as it is an open air museum. Tour guides seemed disinterested and not much information was given about the big foot too. In my opinion can be skipped by adults, good for kids

This is a must to visit a private museum with an INR 150/person ticket. This will brief you about the whole history of Goa. They need to improve the washroom.
