Located next to Phoenix Market City, this is rare find. They serve authentic South Indian dishes along with plenty of typical Chinese cuisine. Prices are very reasonable (or even pretty cheap compared to other traditional restaurants). This is self service place with plenty of table to enjoy delicious food. Only negative issue that I can find is that they don't have dedicated parking space. Overall ranking - 10 / 10.

Being an authentic South Indian, I can make a fair judgement on the taste. Idli and Dosa tasted very average and Chutney/Sambhar lacked the essential ingredients to spice it up. Medu Vada was not too soft, not too hard to swallow. Service was not quick enough, had to wait upto 20min for Dosas. Price is OK. Filter Coffee was good. Parking could be challenging.

Best outlet for south Indian food. Taste of food is very authentic. I love the taste and they serve it like their south Indian style. Quantity of food is also much. Considering quality and quantity of food the cost is very reasonable. The only two points are need to improve is that the staff is not that much helpful with customer. And they haven't their own parking. The self service is also available. Maintained hygiene and cleanliness. Worth to visit.

Location: 5 on 5 Service: Self Service Food: 4 on 5 (Good Food) Value for Money: 4 on 5 Located in one of the prime areas of Viman Nagar and surrounded by a number of IT Parks, this is a very popular eatery. Being Pure Veg and Serving South Indian Dishes, the place is good and hygienic and serves good and clean food. The food pricing is affordable but not cheap. Food is tasty but not authentic and modified according to the local taste buds. The place is crowded during lunch hours and is a no nonsense place, you place an order, pay the money, collect your coupon, take your food and eat and leave. Nothing much of an ambiance but the food is great and quantity is enough to satiate your hunger.

Sambar is a bustling place, and it's no secret that parking can be a significant challenge here, as there is no parking space available. Despite this, the food is undeniably good and delicious. Be prepared for potential waiting times due to the crowd. You have the choice to either stand and eat or find a seat. On the downside, I found the staff to be somewhat rude. Despite this, the dal makhani was a standout dish, making it a worthwhile stop for a tasty meal, even if the overall experience might have its hiccups. Please keep in mind the parking situation when planning your visit.

For south Indian food lovers, Sambar is an amazing option. The place is quite nice and spacious. The food was also delicious and fresh. Also, the price is very reasonable. We ordered the Full South Indian Meal and one cut Dosa (served with Chutney and Sambar). Both were flavourful and delectable. My Ratings (out of ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐) ✓Food: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ ✓Ambience: ⭐⭐⭐ ✓VFM: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Had combo meal(dosa, idli, vada, sambar, sheera,Upma ) it was good but next time I’ll prefer having each dish separately, don’t wanted to confuse my taste buds 😅

Naming this place as 'Sambar' is a cruel joke. One of the greatest Indian dishes of all time is Sambar and the sambar at this restaurant is all that a Sambar should never be. I rate the Sambar at this place at 0.5/5, not even 1/5. I had Pongal, rated at 3/5 and Medu Wada rated at 3/5. Tea at 3/5.The place scores on location, freshness, cleanliness and price and is popular with people who work nearby. If you want a quick bite at a low price and are not particular about taste or service, then this is the right place.

Unhygienic food and Tea We requested for use and thrown cup but the cash counter guy repused and said We give only for parcel. The steel glass they serve in is not washed properly and hundreds of ppl drinking tea from same glass To save 50 paise cup they play with health and hygiene of so many ppl

Quick service & Economical. One of the best South Indian Breakfast places in Viman Nagar. Must try: Filter Coffee, Swami Special combo And Special Masala Dosa (with shredded cheese and Paneer) - this is good for 2 people. They have a Boondi Laddu - which is also super tasty!

All the South Indian Dishes are excellent to taste. It's taste awesome. Loved all the dishes it's yummy to taste. The Sambhar and the chutney have a different taste altogether Masala Dosa, Cut Dosa and other menu options are available. The menu for the hotel keeps changing everyday. The hotel also serves nice Chinese food options as well.

Earlier in 2018-19 and early 2020 the sambhar , chutney and every other item WAS just perfect in taste. Now, the quality of sambhar has been hopelessly downgraded , it contains 70% water (feels like hostel type) and the taste is also very disappointing.

Sambar is a South Indian restaurant where you can have the best breakfast. You serve yourself by picking what you want to eat and paying for it at the counter. Then, they give you a token. You take this token to another counter, and in just five minutes, they give you your food. It's a quick and easy way to get your meal without waiting long. Sambar is proud to offer tasty breakfast options in a fast and convenient way, making it a popular spot for people who want a delicious start to their day.

Sambar Restaurant near Phoenix I visited because of my friend, it's his favourite restaurant. I also liked it so much. Seating arrangement is awesome with very good cleanliness. As per the need of the moment social distancing and mask is maintained by the staff and also same is requested for customers. Rate is also affordable with super quality and quantity of food, it may be either in South Indian and Chinese dishes.

Me and my family arrived at 7:15 AM and restaurant was ready to serve without any delay in their service. Parcel system also fast with good food packaging and quality, quantity of Sambar and Chutney at its best. Parcel Food was not wrapped in plastic or inked paper which is very healthy and hygiene method so deserve 5 start. Tea taste was too fanatic.

I personally love south Indian and sambar is quite famous. But it didn't really impress me. Vimannagar outlet is huge. There's plenty of setting area. It's pocket friendly and portions are good too. What disappointed me was the taste. It wasn't up to the mark. They did fill the masala dosa generously but it wasn't great to taste. i enjoyed the coconut chutney but sambar itself was okayish. Lassi was good but cold coffee could have been better. Overall. If you wanna save some pennies, this place is good. Taste is good too but not all the items on the menu is completely up to the mark.

Best restaurant if you want to try South Indian food. We tried Mangalore bhaji, chow chow bhath, and butter set dosa. And most of all in 200 rupees it can satisfy 2 people. Even on weekends there was sufficient space available for two of us. It's a self service, one needs to buy token slip and give it to counters. The sweet bhath has pineapple chunks and was very delicious. Chutney and Sambhar were too light and tasty.

The founder, Pankaj Mehta, began the journey of Sambar six years ago when he began visiting Tirupathi regularly and exploring the local eateries there. His desire to build his own restaurant came true when Sambar was created. They provide a wide range of South Indian foods, including Mangalore Buns, which are uncommon in the Pune area. Of course variety of Dosas.

Manchurian fried rice:- The gravy was too salty. They give only 4 manchurian balls that too separately. No taste due to low seasoning. Hence it’s not worth to the price !

Sambar Aromas of South is a delightful South Indian restaurant that offers a fantastic dining experience. The menu boasts a variety of delectable dishes at reasonable rates. The standout items are undoubtedly the mouthwatering dosas. A must-visit for anyone craving authentic South Indian flavors.

It's our go to breakfast place for every holiday morning. The staff also expects us there every Sunday, it's that obvious now. Sambar is literally the best breakfast/brunch/ evening snacks place in viman nagar. Especially the butter set dosa..oh my my..i first tried it after my friend insisted and now there's no going back. Swami special is something you can opt for if u want to have multiple dishes all at once. Moreover it's healthy, i mean that's what we are looking for these days right? ....oh wait did I not mention podi idli, please please please try it

Good variety of South Indian food served. Filter coffee should be tried by everyone. Huge place to sit with good cleanliness been taken care of. Sanitization is been done on a timely manner. We can also stand outside, for people who want to smoke a cigarette. Try their wada sambhar, rava masala dosa and masala dosa. Chai is also served hot which tastes good.

Very good food... Being a South Indian, I found this hotel good. Most hotels in pune serving South Indian food, actually serve a North Indian version of South Indian which is far from the real taste... Here the food was much better than other hotels.

Not Good food, only name has Aroma food doesn't. Chutney and sambar are tasteless. The batter used to make dosa or uttappa is bad in smell, looks like using the batter from last week. I ordered mix vada and cheese uttappa its just tasteless and chutney was just water and some coconut. Not recommended.

They were know for sambhar and idli.. not anymore. Idli is mix with rava which loose the authenticity.. its morning 10am and idli and sambhar was just cold.. here onwards i will skip this restaurant as its not anymore servicing as it used to be earlier.

  • 1/5 Ajay J. 5 months ago on Google
According to the name of the restaurant, expected good food and variety but lower side experience..prices are high and the test is not authentic... Rava dosa not available all the time I visited, if 4 rava dosa ordered comes then only they expected... otherwise it will take 30-40 minutes to wait. Medu vada sambar is like eating rubber ..Uttapa tasteless, most important sambaar was too sweet ..

  • 5/5 Manoj R P. 1 year ago on Google
I always love the food taste and hygiene. Authentic South Indian food and equally good Chinese dishes. I prefer parcel as the surrounding atmosphere is no more good for family, so many smokers standing outside at any time. I hope Sambar should clean the main entrance area at least
