Contemporary art space for society founded in 1888 with 2 galleries, an auditorium & events room. The Bombay Art Society (BAS) promoting art and artists since 1888 is one of the oldest art institutions in Asian Subcontinent.

Such a gem!! The concept on the building is unique. After just looking it from outside only it says that just come an see inside. Everything is just superb here!

The Bombay Art Society's contemporary architecture from the outside is pretty iconic, but it is in ruins from the inside. The maintenance of the gallery is below par. The staircase is a piece of art in itself. There is a ramp at the main entrance for wheelchairs, but the restrooms inside the building are not accessible & very shabbily made. This is an excellent example of how the architect's vision has been destroyed by the people & contractors who run the place. The gallery definitely has a lot of scope to develop in the future.

I tried to be part of this , but instead was told my art has no 'Market Value' . Right after that came "Your art is full of negativity" , we will teach you what to make better things" . ' I guess money is more important than seeing something new and unique instead of the usual stuff people pass as Art these days . Sorry not everyone got the oppertunity to go to a special art school or class to draw people or splash buckets of paint on oversized canvases to sell for millions . This oddly shaped building, stands out like a beautiful yet forgotten relic of the past, amongst all the ghastly "modern" ones surrounding it. A visit on any day, will transport you into the minds of the brilliant artists showcasing their art in a million different ways, through photography, sculptures, paintings and more. It's not just something to be admired, but a thought-provoking reflection of society and culture, making this place an extremely important part of our world. They have many galleries inside, the space is well-maintained and, washrooms are clean. It's a place I visit often, since I get to learn so much from it.

Attended a ceramic art exhibition here and it was fantastic. Got to speak to the artist and his insights on all the art pieces.. Everything was very well laid out..

Great place for art lovers. They have a auditorium and a 88 seater theater hall for hosting screenings and shows. 8 was here for cafe irani Chai and sodabottleopenerwala screening on irani cafes in mumbai. Very well designed place with parking lot and loads of place to roam and fully air-conditioning

installation was so organised and every art has its own detailing and superiority in canvas. Anshul sir from Aditya college have sold all his paintings here by the end of the exhibition. One of my insta friend Aditya Joshi famous for his mandala paper cut artwork have made clients to teach. Pleasant place with display of artists art.. A platform for people to get recognised, paid for their hardwork and talent l.

Amazing building and a good effort by the community to ensure Art survives. The members and employees are extremely courteous. Located right at the start of bandra, it is situated in a not-so-posh location, however the building is definitely a beauty to look at.

Apt place to display your creative aspect. Neat and clean environment. Suitable for art lovers to have a variety of artistic events.

Quite unique building which catches your eyes from far away. Unfortunately the nearby area is not very clean with slums around and dimly lit in the night. Nothing much they can do about it :-(

Visited here for a movie screening and has a gala time over here. I've always been a admirer of this artists building structure which is quite contemporary in it's own way.

I visited this place at noon and it seemed abandoned. They had some interesting work put out but the place needs a lot of work to make it comfortable and accessible.

It's a beautiful building designed by the master Ar. Sanjay Puri, situated on the reclamation done in land of bandra West, Mumbai. The Play of facade curves creates interesting Play of light and shadows, adds a different dimension to the building in the Skyline. It seems like a crafted sculpture in the neighborhood surroundings.

When in bandra, you gotta stroll qnd look out for the Bombay Art Society⚱️🪞🗿. An art gallery showcasing shows and exhibition is interesting and calming. No entry fee on common days, shows are chargeable.
