Flamingos 🦩 can be found in the mangroves usually from November to April. Thane creek is the prominent stretch to find them. Visit this Biodiversity park to cross a 500 meter Board walk stretch just above the Mangroves to reach the View point. From here you can make use of your powerful zoom-in cameras for Wonderful captures of 🦩 πŸ•ŠοΈ and πŸ¦†.I see Many bird 🐦 enthusiasts spend significant time here relishing and capturing the views. At the entrance is a small Museum, an informative one about Mangroves, their importance and Flamingos. Well maintained and must visit for children and adults. 60 minute Boat ride from this park requires advance booking. We couldn't explore that but still worth the visit.

Absolutely amazing place to see Flamingos up close. Rent their speed boat which can take up to 8 adults and costs Rs. 6,600. It goes out to the creek only during the high tide, so book well in advance. The boat can get really close to the flamingos and we were able to see both the lesser and greater flamingos hanging out in the water during high tide, by the thousands. When you get close to start to fly away but it is just such a joy to see them run on the water, and take flight. Very elegant birds and this is the best way to see them up close.

Great place for hanging out with friends and family especially with children. For ferry, booking is to be done well in advance. The best part is the bamboo Bridge trail, it is quite fun time for kids.

A nice place to boat and view a variety of birds and crustaceans.... Flamingos flock here once a year in the winters to feed and get ready to migrate again. Come in January to march to observe pink flamingo. A nice place to visit but mangrove forest are being destroyed by this plastic waste being disposed over there. Nice place to visit to observe different types of birds.

Hidden gem of Mumbai and Navi Mumbai, this place is less known and a must-visit especially with your kids. The centre has AV room which showcases the richness of the biodiversity of our coasts and also the importance of the mangroves and the marine life. There's so much to learn from the information centre and there are lovely visuals and videos to understand the flora and fauna. There are audios of the birds and reptiles that again very enriching. To witness the flamingos from close quarters, there's a neat ferry service on offer. You need to book this a month in advance as the seats get full pretty fast. Don't forget to take to your DSLR cams and binoculars to witness the beauty of flamingoes and different other bird species taking flight. There's also a mangrove trail that gets you closer to the mangroves and is totally a lovely experience within the city.

We went here to try the new experience mid week. Had booked the ticket in advance for a 11:30 am ride. Each boat ride is 1 hour long and takes you through the Thane creek and into the mangroves. It was a delight to see the colourful flamingos run on that water to take off. Big migratory birds come here only in a window of several months to feed and mate. I'd recommend to book tickets as it was all full. And carry you binocular if you have one. No need to buy as they provide in the boat to share and use. I'm rating it three star cause I'm more of a doer than a watcher. But if you like bird watching etc, it's at least a 4 if not 5.

Individual and group boating service is available for bird watching in Thane creek area especially flamingos. It is always better to book your seats in advance. The boat ride time depends upon high tide timings. Better to check it in advance before booking the tickets. Life jackets will be provided by the boat person. Pl carry water bottle, binocular and camera with you.

It was about 2km from Airoli railway station and we went there during rainy season and i really regret going there during rains because of the muddy area which made my shoes so dirty and coming to the attractions there it really gives you a forest vibe and little scary as well so I recommend going as a group and one thing I really liked the most is mangrove walk you will really like it and the end of that walk is really a scenary pleasing to see . It also have two or three museums where it showcases more about the birds and they also provided a way that we can hear their sounds as well.so I would say it's worth visiting once and as a group.

Loved the boat ride for flamingo siting. The driver was knowledgeable and took us to the right place to get a good siting. Overall the place can do with a canteen and perhaps some aquariums to showcase aquatic plants.

A marine interpretation centre is situated at Airoli in Navi Mumbai, to create awareness towards environment and biodiversity conservation and to protect coastal & marine ecosystems. It also served as a treatment house to injured birds and animals. It is a great place for children as well as adults to learn more about this topic, they also have their souvenir shop learning centre. The bamboo path from lush green mangroves takes you to the view point at the end. We do the clean-up activities and collect plastic from there to save mangroves cover from degradation and to conserve the whole ecosystem from loss of habitat due to the pollution caused by Mumbai City itself.

Located just beside Airoli, in the Thane Creek sanctuary, you would find this biodiversity centre pretty cool if you aren't fond of crowded places lol. It's virtually empty, not much commotion but the information and models inside are really cool. There's this height comparison chart with Sea turtles, audio recordings of Dolphin and Whale sounds, interactive screens with information on flamingos, etc. Outside the information centre, there's ponds filled with Koi fishes and red-eared slider turtles, there's also a collection of Blue whale bones which washed up ashore the Navi Mumbai beaches (although these aren't assembled or put-together for some reason would make a pretty cool skeletal showcase). There's also this jetty near the flamingo viewing area, filled with mangroves and marsh. Again, a really quiet place.

Go see the flamingos! You won't believe how many there are. I would have enjoyed this a little more if I had brought my binoculars with me. There is a building where children can get animal education while having fun but it didn't feel completely ready when I was there. Many kids came with our group and was eager to explore the building...they were less interested in the actual flamingos...strange but true lol.

I didn't have a perfect visit over there, it has rained before we were going, so we couldn't able to find no flamingo🦩 there, which was total upset for us and we have to extra charges for the boat man to take us to the ocean to see flamingo. Before you are plan to visit just have a call with that receptionist to have a hassle-free experience.

This place is simply amazing an oasis in this concrete Mumba Nagari. Please be very careful when trying to locate it as some travel agency shows up on G maps when you search for flamingo sanctuary. You need to make an advance booking when visiting the place as teh boat ride is possible only during high tides.theu accepts prepaid bookings . Flamingoes are visible from December mid to about April end . If you take a walk further down the jetty you can see flamingoes feeding babies. The bio diversity centre is well made and they have a 13 minute introductory video post which you can see the various exhibits . You can see good use of technology with interactive screens and there is a lot to learn . The audio speakers add to the spunk and make the experience memorable.

Although it's just an information centre, the information an nature trail is very good. We did not take the boat ride but had the creek view and board walk till the edge of water. It's a time we'll spent with kids.

Place to visit in the morning since boat ride depends upon high tides. Mangrove walk is just soulful walks on bamboo bridge.

We went to this place for a flamingo boat ride but it was closed due to the rainy season. Only the museum was operational so we went there and bought tickets to visit inside. It was well maintained and very informative for kids as well as adults. Although planning to visit this place again during the end of November once the flamingo ride starts again.

We visited on 29.07.2023, Due to heavy rain there is so much mud, that's why we are not able to explore much. But still enjoy a lot. Place is clean and greenery make it more Beautiful. There is space for car parking which charge Rs 150. Entry fees for adult is Rs 50 and for kids it's Rs 25

What a lovely place to spend with familyπŸ‘ͺ It's worth going at least once. Very informative to begin with, and a vast natural area to roam around. And the best part is the life size statues of flamingos here and there to satiate our photo craze.

Great place to visit for half a day. Boat ride available in the creek, chance to have a closer look at Flemingo. Two Information centres that describe in detail marine life and habitat. Very educational. Ample parking space available, though paid. Worth visiting with kids.

Learn about Thane's Flamingo sanctuary and the biodiversity of Maharashtra. Excellent learning place for kids and adults. The interpretation center is filled with interactive knowledge products right from infographics, sounds of animals and birds, a learned group of technical staff to help in case you want to learn more, a souvenir shop, a marine ornamental fish breeding Centre (you can see 5 species of Nemo fish - clown fishes with their symbiotic sea anemones), stuffed birds and what not. The place is beautiful and the design of the building makes you feel that you are somewhere else. Located on the banks on Thane creek, in case you have not visited, do not delay

Had difficulty in locating the place even after using Google maps. It's close to Ambedkar Memorial..other landmark is that it's next to Reliance Mart. I had not booked the boat ticket in advance but was lucky to get a seat at last minute as someone else had cancelled their advance booking. Pl don't plan to visit without booking the boat ticket. The other areas like exhibition etc hardly takes 15 mins to explore. 1 hour boat ride is the highlight. Boats are very well maintained and guides are very good. Weekend price is 650 per person and weekday price is 475 per person. There are other viewing decks which you can use xplore within the 50 rs entry ticket. They have a blue whale skeleton kept in such a shabby condition that I felt really sad. Overall, the place can be maintained in a much better way.

We visited this place on Saturday morning, it is a very good place for school kids to visit and also who like to click photographs of flamingos. But to click photographs with DSLR there are minor charges, but if anyone wants to do wildlife photography then charges are on the higher side, and the best time to visit this place is after October, there are boat rides also but it is closed till October

It's in the nascent stage. Good effort by the Mahabharata govt to conserve the mangroves, flamingos & wildlife close to the city. A must visit for your kids, lots of greater, smaller & Juvenile flamingoes can be spotted along with igrids and terns

Nice place to spend a quiet evening The museum is good We went to this place last Sunday; the flamingoes were not here yet - am sure this place would be amazing once they are here. Looking. Forward to it. By the way - lovely sunset view from this place

Great place to visit. They have an amazing interpretation center followed by a Bamboo Mangrove Boardwalk. Peaceful place for birdwatching during low tide. You must go on the Flamingo boat ride. One of the best rides to see Lesser Flamingos and Greater Flamingos. The best time for a flamingos safari will be from December to May.

Nice place to visit if you are keen for some info about mangroves and it biodiversity around thane creek. Video show was neat and informative. Boat ride is only available during high tide . Overall good experience

A Date with Flamingos - Memories for Ever Our visit to the Biodiversity Center, Airoli followed by Boat Safari on 17th April 2022 was an overall awesome experience. The predeparture info provided by Shraddha Ghorpade was vital. Our tour guides Shubham n Akshay explained nuances very well and were always to the point. The boat ride is about an hour or so.. It was really a exciting to watch a good number of Flamingos in their natural habitat.. especially when the flock is taking off in style .... the fun is in their huge numbers and their attractive color-combo... they are mainly divided into two groups... Greater (larger) and Lesser (smaller) birds.. they are shy and don't prefer proximity with humans..so we have to watch them from a distance.. carry your binoculars or to capture clear close-up images or videos it's better if you have good cameras... It's really a nature's wonder and a mistry for the mankind how a fragile bird travels so long (from Siberia) and reaches the pre-decided destination. And then re-migrate to their original location year after year with arithmetical accuracy.. that too without any external high-tech support of GPS or Google maps !!! Just amazing.. probably Flamingos come with built-in fitting of navigational apparatus..... It was painful to see empty water bottles and other garbage items floating in the creek. It shows how irresponsible behavior of a few can cause immense damage to our environment. Thus, the challenges before the activists involved in nature's protection are tremendous. Miles to go. However, I hope and wish nature lovers like us will always stand by and support such activists. Before I conclude, I thank Aditya Samant and his team for a wonderful experience. Sanjay Kulkarni
