Only serves pure veg... The place is amazing. Service is upto mark. Food quality and quantity was satisfying.. also the price range is not that expensive. Must try the banana leaf special thali.

A place definitely standing true to it's cuisine... An all time go to place for all south Indian food you crave. We loved the ambience and it brought nostalgic grandmother food to our minds. Thanks a lot for serving such tasty food and keeping up the legacy of fresh authentic South Indian food.

A great place to dine for veg food. We tried the regular south Indian dishes but were pleasantly surprised. The server asked on how the sada dosa should be - crispy or soft. Shows the leaning towards customer delight. The medu wadas are not the usual big two, rather smaller 5 which were freshly fried crisp to perfection. The onion uthappa was classy too. There are two sections, inside AC and outside under the roof. We preferred the outer section as it was empty but almost filled up by the time we wrapped up. Valet parking also available.

Great Place to sample the entire south with couple of srilankan dishes too! All dishes were great with touch of authenticity in the preparation! Special Mentions 1) Rasam Vada 2) Appam with vegetable kurma 3) Neer dose 4) Puliyogre Bisebele baath was a let down though, It was more of sambar rice! Again yelneer payasam was good but had small portions!

The thali was good. The Hyderabadi biryani was okay. The only disaster was the gudbud ice cream. It was not gudbad, it was a sundae. The taste wasn't great & very steep cost.

After our 24th December Night Service, I had been to Banana Leaf Restaurant in Juhu with my friends & siblings at around 10 pm. We had a short dinner as we wanted to rush home early. We had a veg thali, pav bhaji an veg biryani. The thali was very tasty.

My teacher suggested me this restaurant for South Indian food. She is South Indian too so she understands that well. I'm thankful to her suggestion. Food was delicious and service was good. Ambiance was totally relaxing and pleasant. I'll definitely visit again here.

Had been to this place for a casual evening lunch. The place has a good ambience with indoor and outdoor seating options. At a very convenient location of Versova and ample of parking spaces as well. A very authentic and homely vibe with cultural structures inside and outside the restaurant to treat you to the South Indian aspect of the restaurant as well as the country. A must visit with family.

Had a lovely dinner at the Banana Leaf last week. Hot piping delicious food. The rasam with the mini vadas in it is worth ordering. Courteous & helpful staff along with valet service make it an additional plus to visit this place. Nice indoor/outdoor seating options. Special shout out to Abdul for the lovely service!

I came from Thane specially to have Thali at banana leaf. Thali wasn't available though. I had Never dosa and paneer gassi. I'd say Thane outlet's food was better in taste. Versova outlet is good in space.

Went with good expectations as heard lots from SM, friends, etc. Surprisingly, i found it overhyped. There are better South Indian restaurants in same locality. Taste was average, hospitality and ambience were excellent, spacious, hygienic, overpriced.

Highly overpriced restaurant. Only vegetarian options are available that too Mushroom and Potatoes. They add Service Charges + GST to your bill, looting. Items are costlier compared to the quality and quantity. Washroom and Parking is available here. Taste is good for specific dishes.

The quality of food has dropped substantially. I used to love going to banana leaf for quality south Indian. This time even rasam was not as good. Dosa was fit for a road-side joint and Payasam could easily be substituted by rose water. Won't go back..

A perfect place to eat if you're in a mood for authentic balance south indian food. A wide range of authentic dishes which you would rarely find in any restaurants. Also it's filter coffee is so homely ! A good place to visit with family !?

Best south Indian food in Mumbai. Have been going to this restaurant for last 10 years. The quality and service is amazing. The food is tasty and the staff is really good. Try thier special dosas and and idli, lipsmacking and yummy. They have outside seating area also. Be ready to wait (for 20-30 mins) if you are going out for dinner on weekends. It will be worth waiting :)

Always delicious, always amazing and never fails to impress! I have been recently ordering through Swiggy but I had to post a 5-star review here for Team Banana Leaf because they also pay attention to my small requests every time like using less oil or sending chutney instead of sambhar and also 2 cups of filter coffee instead of 1! They are so kind, so considerate and so attentive! My mom loves the food - especially the Mulgai idli :) And now my admiration and respect for the team of Banana Leaf has risen even more - thank you so much for being so wonderful! God bless.

The most pathetic delivery system. We were missing part of our order , and when we called the restaurant to ask they spoke extremely rudely and blatantly refused to accept or even hear out our complaint. The manager, Rahul was extremely impatient to listen to the complete complaint, refused to accept the possibility of the mistake could have occurred from their side , forced the idea that the Swiggy delivery guy had eaten a part of our order and was extremely rude and hung up on the phone in the middle of the conversation. When we called back we heard him abuse on the phone. The worst service that we have ever experienced !!

BANANA LEAF There are very few places in Mumbai which boast of good south Indian food. Banana leaf definitely ranks #1 for me.The ambience is simple and ethnic. Some of the menu items were a fresh thought. South Indian food in Mumbai with a difference in Taste, Quality & ambience, The serving staff needs a little improvement. Overall its a place to relish southern delicacies if you are a lover of dosas/bisele bath/vadas/idlis &mini idlis, etc. They have an extensive menu, mostly south indian dishes from Karnataka, Keral, Tamilnadu & Andhra pradesh. 🍽️:What We Ordered: - 🍽️ Mulgai Idli ( was something very different but good in taste ) 🍽️ Rasam Vada ( 5 vadas in rasam, vadas were soft & rasam tangy & mild on spiciness) 🍽️ South Indian Thali ( presented well, tempting & great on taste ) 🍽️ Rajni Dosa ( loved the masala & sambar taste ) 🍽️ Beverages : Apple Detox & Red Kiwi ( would have tasted better if iced well ) 🍽️ Brownie with Icecream (tasted nice & good) A perfect ending to a perfect meal. >Quality - 5/5 >Taste - 5/5 >Cost - 5/5 >Value worth for money - 5/5 >Overall experience - 5/5 Enjoy eating and follow us on Insta : @foodieklix for more reviews:)

Place is good, but didn't like the service and food. Masala Dosa was soggy and not of good taste. Rasam was also ok ok. I heard lot of good words from my known people, maybe I went on a wrong day, but first impression is worst. Hoping good for next time.

Perfect example of Good food being spoilt by Poorly trained staff. Sunday afternoon peak time Orders were not taken in time. Wrong items were brought to the table and had to be returned. Right items didn’t come till 30 mins after ordering. What came was either cold or Idlis coming without the Sambhar or chutneys. Only 1 waiter attending to our 4 tables of 20 persons. They have nice Varieties of South Indian Delicacies but seriously need well trained staff to give satisfactory experience to customers.

Food Blogger Reviews : Always heard a lot about this restaurant! Well since my childhood, I was very fascinated with South Indian Cuisines as my mom is from South India itself but still I wanted to explore every time the same cuisine ,so whenever I used to go out for food my order was as usual fix i.e, Idli Sambar ☺️ . Today here I ordered Sambar Rice, Dakshin Biryani , how can one leave the scrumptious Filter Kaffee ( Coffee) specially when you are at Aunthentic south Indian Restaurant . I must say one of the best no doubt it's authentication gaved this title !!! Ambience was superb similar to one Restro which I ate @Kerala. Soft Music , good crowd , Staff , everything was at mark !! Taste : 4/5 Ambience :5/5 Staff Service :5/5

Over hyped. Over priced. I have had better tasting south indian food at multiple other places in Mumbai. Some dishes such as neer dosa with mushroom, etc can be tried but for regular items, you can always choose more authentic but lesser known restaurants. Staff is friendly and service is great. Food presentation and serving is beautiful. But end of day, the taste is just average. Try the gadbad icecream. One might just be enough for three people.

Excellent vegetarian restaurant. Speciality in south Indian dishes. Try podi idly, podi dosa, these are few popular dishes here. Pricing is competitive. They give some nonsense local made water bottle of 750 ml and charge Rs. 60/-, this is cheating. They charge 5% extra as service charge. They have written this in fine print on their menu. If you do not read the bill they will extra charge this 5%. When asked they say this is management rule and the money goes to staff serving food but why customer be forced, its the management's duty to pay their staff. Tips should be paid basis customer choice and not flat 5%.

No more as good it used to be. Service is slow Sambar needs much improvement. Tastes like warm salty bland water. Plating of food needs improvement. All in all, they have downgraded on taste, which is of prime importance.

Nice place with authentic South Indian food. Service was also very fast. They serve everything on banana leaf, I think that justify their name. We ordered some idli, there were 5 types of idlis and number of dosas. We also ordered thali which almost contained all the variety of dishes from their menu. They not only serve South Indian but North Indian also but very few people order North Indian there. But we ordered paratha in one thali and appams in other. They also serve rice or balle bani Bhath which is sort of khichdi that too was tasty. Rasam Wada was also very tasty. They also serve pineapple sheera in thali which was classic and tasty.

Banana Leaf has been one of our go-tos for delicious high quality South Indian food in the area. The Vegetable Stew with Appam is so wholesome and comforting. The Akhrot halwa is rich and indulgent. The filter coffee ice cream was very refreshing.

Local street food in a nice, small restaurant. I bet it's great so it's crowded during lunch time which means noise is louder than expected. The dessert is famous but difficult to "digest" for foreigners even we have that kind of leaves in Vietnam. Still a good choice for vegetarians.

  • 4/5 Aaron Nyzil D. 6 months ago on Google
Aaron's Final Rating is 4 I'd like to be honest here. My friends tricked me into visiting this restaurant. They said you also get nice nonveg food here in South Indian style and I believed it. After I realised it was pure veg, I wanted to throw a tantrum but then thought of giving it a shot. Trust me, I don't regret visiting this place. Authentic South Indian flavors that transport you straight to the region. Dishes are well-spiced, aromatic, and served with traditional flair. Don't miss the dosas and coconut chutney – they're a true delight!

Banana leaf is one of the best South Indian restaurants in Mumbai. Everything you order here is lip smacking good. We have tried almost the whole menu and believe me we were never disappointed by even a single item. Their Mango potato tamarind curry is the best of the best. Puliserry with mango and jaggery is a perfect combination of sour and sweet curry. Pulicha sadham is lovely combination of rice tamarind black gram and peanuts. Ghee podi mini idlis are a perfect snack any time of the day. Taste of their Rasam is unbeatable. The service was fast and superb and the servers were nice smiling and attentive. All in all a perfect place for South Indian vegetarian food.

Banana leaf is anytime trustable brand in authentic South Indian restaurants. Use easy pay to get some discount for the payment. Their rasam is their specialty and filter coffee is just normal. Also dal khichri is tastier like anything. Even they cook good North Indian food. But for South Indian best dosa, uttapam , rasam and other South Indian dishes you can trust them.

It took more than 25 minutes to get masala dosa after placing the order though there were hardly enough customers in the restaurant
