If
you
are
a
fan
of
inhaling
polluted
air,
then
this
is
the
place
you
should
be
in.
Now
you
might
be
baffled
how
can
a
beach
which
is
associated
with
open,
clean,
wind-swept
environs
have
polluted
air?
Well,
its
not
the
beach,
but
the
massive
ONGC
refinery
along
the
beach
that's
responsible.
There's
just
a
narrow
road
which
divides
the
ONGC
campus
from
the
ocean,
and
this
damn
campus
is
so
huge
that
it
can
accommodate
a
small
town!
There's
also
a
station
up
the
sea
visible
from
the
shore.
The
air
gets
heavily
pungent
from
about
3-4
km
from
the
beach.
At
the
beach,
the
air
is
nauseatingly
pungent,
laced
with
God
knows
what
deadly
cocktail
of
petrochemical
effluents.
Terrible
feeling!!!
My
heart
bleeds
to
see
how
a
beautiful
endowment
of
nature
is
getting
polluted
by
this
refinery.
The
beach
is
lovely,
but
I
believe
it's
dangerous
to
be
inhaling
such
polluted
air.
Moreover,
the
stretch
is
not
very
well
developed
for
tourists.
Not
any
recreational
options,
just
a
couple
of
small
eateries
and
some
zealous
bhutta
wallahs-
that's
it.
