A popular weekend beach destination from Mumbai city, this beach is situated in the village of Mandwa in Maharashtra. It is very accessible because of the direct ferry services which are available near Mandwa beach to and from Mumbai city. A serene and quaint beach, Mandwa is not going to disappoint you. Mandwa is a very popular beac destination for people living in Maharashtra. The place has been made famous as a location for the film Agneepath, where both Amitabh Bachchan and Hritik Roshan have acted in two separate films. It is also famous for it_ã_s sandy golden beaches, scrumptious food & Water-Sport activities, A full fledged beach holiday is guaranteed if you make up your mind to visit tis gorgeous place.

Mandwa Beach is one of the first beach while traveling from Mandwa to ali baug. This beach is also one time visit. This beach is very calm and peaceful hence there is not much crowed. If you are planning to go ali baug beach than you must visit this beach. Water of the beach is also clean.

The ferry ride from Gateway of India takes travellers till Mandwa jetty, the popular carriers are Ajanta (non A/c), PNC and Maldaar (Air conditioned) We availed PNC carrier to reach Mandwa jetty. Supposedly the tickets for the same can be purchased from the counter. Unfortunately, the ferry tickets were not available at the counter as due to heavy rush they were unable to determine the no. of tickets (???, could have been possible as per no. of seats available in the carrier). There was a long que for Ajanta ferry leaving every half and hour. While we were in the que there was a frantic call that PNC is scheduled to arrive soon. Many travellers rushed to the specified site ant after about 45 minutes the PNC ferry left the shores of Gateway of India. The experience was alright, the carrier had good seating arrangement in the lower deck and the passengers could climb upto upper deck if they so desired. While returning from Mandwa jetty due to time constraints we took Ajanta ferry, which takes longer time to reach as compared to PNBC carrier. The ferry was open unlike PNC carrier but it had its own advantages as you can absorb the sight in a much better way. Overall it is quite enjoyable ride in both the carriers. The Mandwa beach is beautiful dotted with good restaurants and resorts. I feel it is a better idea to stay in one of the resorts for a couple of days rather than just visiting the beach.

Visited this beach before going to M2M ferry. The road is very narrow & driving a car was tough. The beach was absolutely vacant no one on beach. It has a ramp & you can drive your car right inside the beach that was absolutely delightful. You cannot do this in Mumbai. The beach was very pleasant & peaceful.

Mandwa beach is a very renowned place for water sports and adventure activity. Best alternative to Goa, the fun activities include jet ski ride, banana boat ride, bumper rides and kayaking. Each of these activities offers a unique experience. One of the best place to spend your holidays. At a distance of 13 km from Kihim Beach, 19 km from Alibaug, Mandwa Beach is a scenic beach situated at Mandwa village in Raigad district of Maharashtra, India. It is a popular weekend beach destination from Mumbai city. Mandwa is a stunning beach thronged by number of tourists.

The First beach during the journey of Alibaug. If your are at mandwa Jetty then you must visit this Beach. It hardly takes 10 Minutes walk from the mandwa ferry terminal. The beach is clean and calm. The beach have many rides which you can enjoy such as Banana Ride, jet ski and many more. The rates for particular rides start from 250/- per person (2019). Good place to relax.

Visited on 1st Jan ,the beach is good and quite near to the jetty area but the maintenance is not up to the mark it require attention of authorities responsible to maintain it,time table of the jetty leaving Mandwa for Gateway be displayed conspicuously to avoid hardships to the commuters/visitors

Barely an hour’s ferry ride from gateway of India, this gem of a place offers ample opportunities for a very chilled out weekend getaway & some much needed respite from the city that never sleep. There are hardly any hotels to stay in but plenty of homestays with the locals at very reasonable prices. As you all can see from the photos, the beach is in pristine condition due to very less number of tourists, make sure to explore this hidden gem if you’re in Mumbai

A secluded beach with zero crowd. Its like your own private beach! Occasionally you will some fishermen but that's all! Don't go to the side where water sports are available if you wanna send some quality time by yourself. The beach is very clean too! We had so much fun that we forgot to take good pictures!

Mandwa beach is the most preferred and loved beach by many people, to have a wonderful trip with your near and dear ones. Mandwa is a stunning beach 12km away from Alibaug isolated from crowd and pollution. There are so many beautiful places to visit in Mandwa beach that you can have complete peace of mind here. Even you can enjoy with your family members in and around Mandwa beach. Mandwa serves as the changeover point for Ferry services from the state capital of Mumbai and buses bound for the district headquarters at Alibag. It is close to Kihim beach. Mandwa beach lies 6 kilometers from Rewas and close to Mandawa town. In 2011, the Maharashtra Maritime Board (MMB), proposed to run roll on roll off (RORO) services from Ferry Wharf to Mandwa.

Mandwa Beach in Alibag is a tranquil coastal gem. Its clean, golden sands and calm waters make it ideal for relaxation and water sports. While the beach itself is lovely, nearby amenities can be limited. Nevertheless, it's a serene escape from the city, perfect for a day trip from Mumbai.

Exllent place for play cricket ?

  • 5/5 Kartik V. 5 years ago on Google
Wow. I never imagined such a quiet beach at Mandwa. Maybe it is because the beach is not exactly sandy. The black sand is hard and does not cushion like in the other beaches. The advantage is that you can play cricket or any other ball game here. And of course, lesser tourists :) There is a paid parking at Rs 20/hr for four-wheelers provided by the port. The construction at the jetty is almost over and do the place is now really peaceful. Toilet facilities are also exceptionally clean and hygenic, at the passenger terminal. There are a few good lookingrestaurants too, although we did not use any. Miles and miles of long walks without any disturbance is what this beach offers. Go on a weekday to avoid crowds, if any. We went on a Friday and we were practically the only family on the entire shoreline for almost three hours. Look at the photos to see how vast and empty it was. And perfectly safe too!

Mandwa Beach is located near the popular town of Alibag in Raigad district of Maharashtra. Mandwa Beach is located in Mandwa village which is well connected to Mumbai by ferry services operating directly between Mumbai and Mandwa. Many visitors visit Mandwa Beach to know about the rich history of the place and enjoy the natural beauty. The beach is free from pollution and is very far from the hustle and bustle of city life. I would say the beach is Okayish. Because the water quality is average, environment is not so clean, but the nature is so serene. It depends on you if you want to visit it or not.
