I
Went
to
Shirota
lake
with
6
other
friends
(all
boys)
in
February
2017
with
4
bikes
with
us.
It
took
an
hour
and
half
at
least
for
us
to
reach
to
the
lake
from
Lonavala
without
halting
on
the
way.
After
leaving
the
national
highway,
we
found
villages
and
resorts
for
few
kms
on
the
way
and
then
the
road
started
getting
very
rough,
graveled
and
dusty.
It
was
more
than
7-8
kms
we
rode
on
this
graveled
road.
However,
we
enjoyed
the
journey
with
scenic
views
on
the
way.
We
reached
at
around
3
pm
to
the
lake.
We
had
already
hired
tents,
lanterns,
sleeping
beds
etc
from
Pune
and
carried
those
with
us
on
bikes.
Since
it
was
February
the
climate
during
the
day
wasn't
really
hot
and
the
water
level
at
the
lake
too
was
far
inside.
Because
of
lake
being
far
inside,
We
were
able
to
easily
ride
bikes
through
the
lake's
ground
till
we
found
a
nice
camping
spot.
For
arranging
dinner,
there
was
a
village
nearby
the
lake
which
you
cannot
see
and
would
only
find
if
you
know
the
way.
Fortunately
one
of
my
friend
who
was
traveling
with
us.
knew
the
way
and
contacted
one
of
the
villager
there.
That
local
person
delivered
a
delicious
food
with
plates.
We
camped
near
the
lake
and
settled
in
a
while
but
I
must
say
it
was
truly
a
tranquil
place.
Expect
dry
cow
dungs,
stray
dogs,
beautiful
mountains,
clear
lake
water
and
peaceful
nature
around
you.
It
was
simply
beautiful
and
an
isolated
place
to
go
to.
At
night
we
collected
woods
from
around
and
had
a
small
campfire.
Night
wasn't
too
cold
either.
I
shot
some
beautiful
pictures
of
that
lovely,
full
moon
and
light
pollution
free
night.
The
next
day
wake
up
fresh
went
for
nature's
call
in
the
wild
and
yes
heard
monkeys
howling
too
around
the
lake.
We
received
in
the
breakfast
from
the
same
person
who
delivered
the
dinner.
Dinner
costed
160
and
breakfast
60.
It
was
fun,
a
definite
recommendation
to
every
outback
lover
out
there.
Also,
not
to
mention
that
we
made
sure
to
not
pollute
the
camp
site/lake
with
plastics
and
rubbish,
we
took
those
with
us
and
dumped
at
the
right
dumping
place
near
one
of
the
village.
Like
to
request
everyone
who
visit
this
place
to
help
maintain
it
as
clean
as
it
is
now.
So,
to
conclude
we
enjoyed
our
stay
and
Lake
Shirota
is
definitely
a
place
to
visit
and
to
spend
a
night
camping
under
the
mountains
near
a
lake.
