This is one of the great escape from City crowd. Nice place especially in the morning. Good destination for Cycle Ride from Ambarnath, Badlapur, Kalyan & Dombivali too. Seen few people enjoying fishing too. But people are washing their Cars, Bikes, Riksha and making is polluted. Thrown all beer cans & bottles etc. In rainy season it looks more beautiful especially the mountains background. So as usual a humble request, if you love this place and want to visit again then please keep it clean. Do Not Throw Plastic and Glass around.🙏

Too Alone place..

One of the best spot to relax , for morning/evening walk . Nature at it's peak especially in monsoon and winter 💕

Small dam near Ambarnath MIDC, 4-5km away from the main highway. People use to come here for evening walk, mostly crowded.

Place is not that great for visiting. Area is polluted because of companies and factories near bank. Even there is a lot of fishing and other activities like washing bike in backwater and other human stuff done.

This dam water is used for filter and packaging of Water brand of Railway "Neer". Source of water for Kakoda gaon villagers also.

Good river but near roads are very bad in rainy season

Source of water to brand Neer. Sunset point is on the shore of this dam. It fulfills water need of Kakoda village. This also a picknick spot for Ambernath city resident.

Great place to visit at evening time.. peacefull

Great place for group picnic... Dont wander alone... There is no restaurant or shop so bring all the necessary things before arriving here. Best time to visit is during monsoon and in early winter. Half hour walk from ancient Ambernath Shiv Mandir... Nearby Badlapur- Kalyan highway (on the east of Ambernath). The dam was constructed to supply water to the Kalyan Junction. Now the water is used for Railway's own mineral water plant. By the way the full form of GIPR is Great Indian Peninsular Railway, a British time name.

Built in 1915 by the the Great Indian Peninsula Railway (GIPR) which is called as Central Railway, the dam was originally used to store and supply water for steam locomotives now, has been revived and turned into a Railway water bottling plant that will produce two lakh bottles a day. Branded as ‘Rail Neer’, the bottles will be sold in trains and at all stations. This is the Indian Railways’ fourth such bottling plant and the first in the western region.
