I just completed my open water course here with training from both Geoffrey and Luis having never scuba dived before. They were excellent instructors, patient, calm, reassuring and very personable. Like hanging out with friends. However always alert and extremely competent, they made every one of our dives feel extremely safe. The centre is well located and has new equipment which was a pleasure to use. I was hoping to stay longer in Malta and would have booked my advanced course with them however I need to return to the UK. If I come back to Malta I would definitely dive with Starfish again.

We couldn’t recommend Starfish highly enough! My husband and I completed several days diving over the week we were in Malta, during which I completed my open water referral course. They were able to cater to the different experience levels between us and we both completed some brilliant dives with them. All the instructors are really knowledgeable, supportive and friendly.

I did my deep, wreck and nitrogen courses at Starfish. Not only friendly staff (great thanks to Marko and T) but also really good instructors. I had Joe as my instructor. Joe is a really positive outgoing person on the surface but when in the water he's focused and has good control over the group. Best place to dive in Malta for sure!

Mikhail Umnov and Timt Krutob are passionate divers and are able to train beginners as well as advanced divers. Decades of experience and conservative behavior form the basis for safe diving. I have completed the TDI Advanced Nitrox Diver and TDI Decompression Procedures Diver courses with Mikhail Umnov while my wife has completed the PADI Advanced course with Tiit Krutob. After a one-week stay, I can highly recommend the StarFish diving school. Professional competence paired with social competence form the basis for success.

Such great service and education. Went for a refresher course for my open water that only they offer. Helped me check my knowledge and use the equipment. Equipment is very new. No tears or salt damage. Lots of sizes. I highly recommend this dive centre over others.

Small outfit giving the personal touch. Big shout out to Luigi, the Italian dive guide, cool as a cucumber and knows his stuff. It was a pleasure doing 4 dives with him and the rest of the crew.

Great place for your first scuba dive. The instructors are wonderful, kind and they explain everything step by step. Had a lovely time diving in the beautiful coast nearby. Worth choosing that school.

I went diving with Starfish in June 2022 and it was my second time diving on Malta, so I was looking for spots I hadn't been and this was always considered. I was very happy with the base and everybody was very friendly and professional. If I wanted to do a specific dive, Marco always made it possible! I went diving with Lou, Tiit and Joe on Malta, Comino and Gozo and had a great time. I rented the full equipment and the equipment of the base was very good. If you see older reviews of this base, keep in mind that it has recently changed ownership.

My wife always wanted to try diving so we come there. I'm not a good swimmer at all so i thought that i will just wait for my wife but i ended up diving myself and it was so amazing. Instructor Joe is very good, chill and funny. Honestly it was a fantastic and life changing expierence. I strongly recommed for everyone to try it out. You will not be dissapointed, i promise you that!!!

I've just completed my PADI Open Water with Starfish Diving, and from start to finish, the team here exceeded all my expectations. Marco was flexible and responsive while planning my dates, and the logistics were all organised seamlessly, making the process stress-free and allowing me to focus on the thrill of diving. Jean was not only highly skilled and knowledgeable but also incredibly patient and encouraging. He made sure I felt comfortable every step of the way, which was especially important for a beginner like me, and took the time to point out unique fish, octopus, and eels while diving. The facilities and equipment were top-notch, ensuring safety and ease of learning. The diving sites they took us to were simply breathtaking, showcasing the stunning underwater world like I've never seen before. If you're considering getting certified or just wanting to explore a day of diving, I wholeheartedly recommend Starfish Diving.

One of the best dive centers I know. Totally recommended. I dived with them in October 2023. 6 days diving including 3 days TEC. I saw great wrecks, beautiful reefs, including Karwela and Um Al Faroud. I felt safe, taken care and at the end of every dive, happy. Since before I went to Malta Marco Marzio was great, he answered every doubt y had, and helped me plan my diving trip. He is the reason I decided on starfish. Once there Geoffrey Chaineux, one of the best dive buddies and instructor I have ever met, was constantly giving me a great experience in the wrecks. I spent with him more than 7 hours in the water doing both, technical and recreational diving, and I enjoyed every minute, knowing he was always keeping safety first. I give 5 stars to the dive center and 7 for both Marco and Geoffrey. Thank you guys for such a wonderful holiday.

Great experience with Mikhail while diving out of Cirkewwa. Great friendly and professional atmosphere from the beginning to the end of our 2 dives. The team really know their stuff and you can easily feel they are passionate about diving around Malta The 2 spot visited where outstanding. Highly recommend them for diving out of Malta !

Great diving centre! We did a deep specialty and 2 days of fun diving. We learned a lot from our instructor Tiit! We mentioned some wishes for dive spots and they were all possible with the right weather. Great communication from Marco, flexible diveschool and foremost very good overall experience!

Me and my husband had a great day with Jeoffery finishing our 3rd Open Water dive. Very relaxing and easy to understand. We loved the location as it was very calm with great visibility and plenty of marine life to view. Would definitely come back and recommend to anyone wanting to try scuba in the area.

Diving with StarFish and Mikhail was a fantastic experience. I am an AOW diver from Germany with 100+ dives. Mikhail has a great understanding of my level of experience and adjusted the dives to my diving skills. We had terrific dives to the Um El-Faroud, P29 and Rozi. I will dive with StarFish and Mikhail in future.

Went Diving with Mike (Mikhail) in October. Not only is Mike an incredibly experienced diver that makes you feel constantly safe and at ease, he also makes sure you have a great time and lots of fun. He’d go out of his way to ensure you have an amazing time and dives. He also has deep knowledge of all Malta and Gozo dive sites and will take you to the ones that fit best what you’d like to do/see but also where weather conditions are best. Lastly, if you’re into getting memorable underwater shots, you can ask him to bring his GoPro. He’ll go out of his way to take amazing shots of you (from all sort of angles). We ended up with some incredibly footage; best I’ve seen in 100s of dives. Can only recommend his dive school.
