We had a warm welcome and the rooms are comfortable. The only addition I would have liked was a reading light. The food was well cooked and when I asked if I could substitute veg for the chips, I was presented with huge, varied ad delicious salad. In the morning breakfast was individually prepared and arrived at the table freshly cooked hot and well presented. The staff were attentive and helpful. A very pleasing experience.

Lovely setting and beautiful pub. Staff were pleasant. However food quality was average, paid extra for additional meat that was described as an 'extra' portion with a roast dinner (four slices), someone I was with had a single portion and also had four slices. Finally for dessert, someone ordered a sundae that was provided in a glass, disguising a plastic sleave that had whipped cream on to hide the edge. They're dressing up a existing items and charging a premium. One person had an apple crumble that was slung across the table without warning. Sausages and stuffing felt processed and poor quality

Thank you all staff for looking after my elderly uncle and aunt. They enjoyed their stay. It was lovely how you took care of them and catered to their every need. It has been very much appreciated. Regards . Ruth Barton .

Thank you so much to the Old Barn today! It was my mum & Dads 60th Wedding Anniversary. From stat to finish the staff were amazing, very helpful.. We all enjoyed the food. Such a lovely location for a get together! We are a family of 30 so we were so worried about the service & food but it was absolutely excellent. Thanks again, we will be back 👌x

We had my parents diamond wedding anniversary there yesterday and we couldn't fault the food or service. It was a very hot day and it was packed full of diners but everyone all the staff were wonderful, nothing was too much trouble and there was 30 of us!. The only negative thing I will say was we had the Sunday lunch in the conservatory and it was boiling in there to a point the cake ended up falling apart not long after being cut. If they put blinds on the glass roof this would make a huge difference. I can only imagine that if you had a wedding in this room on a hot day it would be unbearable for the bride! I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 only because of how hot the room was. Would recommend 👌

We recently used The Old Barn Inn for my Grandmothers 90th birthday celebration on a Saturday afternoon. The location was perfect for the size of group (30 something) so it felt really nice for an intimate gathering. We had the hot food which everyone raved about, plenty of it, piping hot and super tasty! The service was fab and all the staff from start to finish were really attentive and helpful. Really pleased with our choice of venue.

We went here to attend a wedding reception. The service and food were all very good. We enjoyed ourselves immensely. The gardens were particularly pretty for photos and there were great smoking and sitted outside area full of lovely flowers. We also noticed a lot of people having food in the bar. It smelled and looked really good. Will be back to try some one day.

SHOCKING FOOD - Reheated, stale old Roast Dinner! Extremely Disappointed Christmas Meal Experience I recently dined at this establishment with my elderly parents on the 9th of December for a Christmas meal, and I must say it was an experience I'd rather forget. We opted for the festive menu, expecting a delightful meal, but unfortunately, it was anything but that. To put it bluntly, the roast dinner we received was the worst I've ever had. It was painfully obvious that the food had been reheated. The potatoes were hard, and the Yorkshire puddings were undeniably stale. The gravy was a gloopy mess, flavorless, and quite frankly, it tasted like something of cheap and inferior quality. Now, here's the part that truly disappointed me. We had traveled a grueling three hours, halfway to meet our family for an important get-together, a six hour round trip! Despite our dissatisfaction with the meal, we chose not to complain on the spot as my elderly parents were already upset. They simply wanted to enjoy our time together, especially considering we won't be seeing them on Christmas Day. However, the following morning, I decided to email the management to share our feedback and express our disappointment. To my astonishment, their response was far from satisfactory. They essentially brushed off our concerns, suggesting that because we didn't complain during the meal, we must have been content and were now having a change of heart. This response was not only dismissive but also frustrating. I went a step further and called the manager to discuss the matter. Unfortunately, this conversation only added to my disappointment. The manager insisted that the food had been freshly prepared that day, despite clear evidence to the contrary. I even attached photos of the potatoes we received, which were unmistakably reheated and far from freshly prepared. What's more, I've since come across other reviews from patrons who had similar experiences with reheated Christmas meals at this establishment. It seems our experience was not isolated. When you go out for a Christmas meal, you expect fresh, high-quality dishes, not food that has been reheated, with hardened potatoes and stale Yorkshire puddings. Even the starters were disappointing, with limp lettuce and browning leaves in the prawn cocktail, indicating food that was prepared well in advance. This experience was so disappointing that I've taken a step I've never taken before—I will be initiating a chargeback for this meal. The manager's assertion that our failure to complain on the spot somehow invalidated our concerns is both disappointing and concerning. In conclusion, I feel compelled to share my experience to caution others. If you're considering booking a meal at this establishment, I strongly advise against it. Our experience left us feeling that our money was wasted on a cheap, reheated meal that did not meet our expectations.

We did not have a pleasant experience the 2 nights we stayed. Rooms too hot, carpet needs a deep clean. During the day, external maintenance came in out of the room to access the attic, and we were not notified of this. We did report this to the manager, who was apologetic and took some money off the bill and also check on us the following morning. Breakfast portions were good, and service and staff were pleasant and excellent. I just wouldn't say it is a 4 star hotel.

I visited this place a couple of times for Sunday lunch. Both times had the same experience. Sunday roast is a 5/10. Beef is typically very chewy but the lamb seems of better quality. Vege provided is standard and lack season. Deserts both times have been absolutely terrible. Stale and securely not fresh. Overall it’s an okay place to visit for food if you can’t get in anywhere else and don’t fancy a desert.

A really beautiful and tranquil place to stay. ALL staff were so accommodating. Had a bit of noise from the upstairs rooms and it was no trouble to get ours changed to prevent this. Couldn’t be more obliging. Special shout out to Geraint who was just so sweet. All in all the staff were amazing, focussed and so obliging. Rooms were clean and very comfortable. Would definitely recommend.
