CLOSED Mondays and Wednesdays. We visited on a very wet day but that didn't bother us. Most of what can be seen is inside. It's FREE entry (donation voluntry) There is a small cafe which offer great tea a yummy cakes at least the children thought so â˜ē. The volunteers that work here are very friendly and very knowledgeable they seem very passionate about the mines heritage I'm thankful there's people like this keeping this place open for all to see. We spent around 2.5 hours here although you could quite easily spend longer as there is so much to take in. Theres the world's only ever gas powered tram which was a favourite with the children. All in all this place is defiantly worth a visit.

Visited this wonderful museum with my son and mother in law. Great time had by all of us as we asked questions of our very helpful guide, touched the machinery that powered the pit, and tried to get an idea of how this beautiful part of Wales felt while it was a workplace for the local community. If you have the time you should definitely visit.

This museum is packed full of interesting exhibits, information, history and old machinery which makes this place unique. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and there is no entry fee. This museum is located within beautiful surroundings, and is perfect for children and adults of all ages.

This is the best and most amazing museum I've ever been to in the UK. You go through a real mine and all the original equipment are maintained and operated. The staff are very friendly and professional. I hope the government give more attention and allocate more funds for this museum because this place is where I as a tax payer would like to see my money go to.. Every pound is worth to be spent on this museum

Much more to see than we expected. The volunteer we met gave us a very interesting and detailed explanation of the history of the colliery. The place was very tidy, well organised, the written information was very detailed, and the toilets were immaculate. The volunteers clearly do an excellent job of running the museum.

A little run down but kids loved it. Hopefully with refit will improve. A real museum not like some of the digital rubbish
