Do not miss the opportunity to visit this spectacular waterfall! The path through it is spacious and offers and exhilarating view from behind the water. The steps down and back up probably only take half the time the signs suggest but are still a bit strenuous. The surrounding scenery also frames the fall well though there is limited space to stop and relax at the base.

Absolutely spectacular and the water is clear and clean. Not easy to get to as the walk is steep and rocky, but it is totally worth it. Give yourself a good few hours to really appreciate it all. Make sure you have decent shoes and enough water and food with you for a nice picnic.

Almost an hour walk from car park located on the four fall track!! Must wear hiking boots!! Avoid rainy day as the stairs get very wet and slippery!! Round circle to all 4 waterfalls is around 5-6 miles and with steep stairs!! Car park charges are ยฃ5 for full day

Very much worth seeing. Since we discovered the four waterfalls something like 15 years ago we just keep coming back when someone visits us and the circumstances allow it. There is plenty of walks for different conditions - short, long - see all waterfalls or just 2 of them. Really worth seeing and going from the main four waterfalls car park but you can shorten the walks when going from other car parks. Really recommended for a bit of cleaning yourself amongst the beauty of the forest. Well recommend and will be going back many times I am sure๐Ÿ‘

In my view the best in Wales! One of the four waterfalls walk and this is a great waterfall. In addition to my knowledge the only one in the UK you can totally traverse behind. It was also the scene of a successful world record attempt by the extreme kayaker Shaun Baker many years ago (52 foot drop) and I have seen people do it myself since then. It is accessible by a variety of footpaths and there are a number of other waterfalls in the area too that are equally worthy of a visit. Don't miss out on this one!

Great place for walking but it was very busy during the Easter weekend. Parking was ยฃ5 per day. And it took around 2-3 hours to complete the 4 waterfalls walk. Some paths to the waterfalls were really wet and slippery but it was all well worth it. Suggest to take some food and water as there's nothing available once you're into walking. Also no toilets so plan for it before you get in. Highly recommended place.

We took a very steep path down to the falls, with some very slippy areas. Not suitable for wheelchairs and walking aids but there might easier routes. The waterfall was stunning and in full flow as it had been raining. You will get wet from the spray if you intend on walking behind it but not drenched. I found it very refreshing after the walk and well worth it. What an absolute experience. There are many walks here, from a few miles to ones that can take all day and they lead to other waterfalls. Most involve walking a path, high above the river and taking sleep paths down to each waterfall. It can be tiring. Take lots of snacks and have lots of breaks and it makes for a really enjoyable day out.

We saw this waterfall as part of the Four Waterfalls walk. It is a relatively well kept trail with beautiful views and moderate climbs/descents on the way. This waterfall is particularly special as itโ€™s a falling thunderous curtain of water you can walk behind which is an official foot path (part of walking trail). Remember that there are no toilets available on the walk so make sure you use the facilities at the car park before you go. There were a few people taking the brave step of dipping in for a swim but the water didnโ€™t look very clean so that was a little discouraging!

Beautiful place. Get there early as it gets very busy. There are alot of steps some of which are slippy so just go carefully Alot of the paths are stoned so you can push a buggy around but not to the waterfalls as restricted by lots of steps

Beautiful walk, two car parks available (ยฃ5 for day) with toilets and coffee facilities , numbered posts to keep you on track. Steep stairs down to the waterfalls, a reasonable amount of fitness needed.

Visiting SGWD YR EIRA Falls was a truly enchanting experience that transported me to a world of natural beauty and tranquility. This hidden gem in Wales is a must-see for anyone who craves the magic of cascading waterfalls and untouched wilderness. The hike leading to the falls was an adventure and quite complex by itself, with picturesque trails winding through lush forests and scenic vistas. As I neared the falls, the sound of rushing water grew more prominent, building up my excitement. And then, there it was โ€“ SGWD YR EIRA Falls, a breathtaking sight to behold! The sheer power of the water as it plummeted down the rocks was awe-inspiring, and the mist that filled the air was refreshingly invigorating. What sets SGWD YR EIRA apart is its accessibility. You can actually walk behind the waterfall! Feeling the cool spray on my skin as I stood behind the cascading water was an experience I'll never forget. It's as if nature itself was inviting me to be part of its beauty. Trust me I have never ever walked behind the waterfall and it's an ultimate experience. The surroundings were serene and untouched, making it a perfect spot for photographers and nature lovers. I captured some of the most stunning shots, each one reflecting the raw, unspoiled essence of the falls and its surroundings. A piece of advice for fellow travelers: Wear sturdy hiking shoes, bring along a camera, and pack some snacks and water. The journey can be a bit challenging, but the reward of witnessing this natural wonder is beyond words. I left with tons of memories in SGWD YR EIRA Falls, that will stay with me forever and a deep appreciation for the beauty our planet has to offer. If you're seeking an off-the-beaten-path adventure and a true connection with nature, make SGWD YR EIRA Falls your next destination. Embrace the adventure, and let this majestic waterfall steal a piece of your heart, just as it did with mine.

This was the final waterfall among the 4 we visited. We immensely enjoyed our time here. Venturing behind the waterfall, we experienced the refreshing sensation of its cold and pure water. The moment was truly enjoyable. I would highly recommend this experience to everyone.

Wow! What a place! So worth a visit! We parked at the 4 waterfalls car park because it is near the cave and there is a walk all the way along to Sgwd Yr Eira and 3 other waterfalls on the way back to the car park. It's ยฃ5 and you can pay with cards! It's not big so I'd advise going either early morning or late afternoon. There are toilets and a little shop with a very helpful person on hand to give directions! Also a food and drink van! It's a good mostly flat walk to the entrance to the waterfall (approx 40mins to the entrance to the waterfall not the actual waterfall) however the steps down to the waterfall are shady, steep, many and busy! Not ideal for visually impaired or unbalanced! Takes a while to walk down with narrowish steps and letting people pass. Then when you get down there, it's incredibly rocky so you need to be very sure of foot to make it behind the water fall itself. There are lots of rocks to perch on and look at the waterfall if you don't fancy clambering! The waterfall itself is magical and wonderful to walk behind. The pool is inviting and crystal clear! Takes a while to walk back up to the main path after but was all worth it! It was very busy when we were there (mid afternoon on a sunny day in half-term)

One of the best highlights of my holiday so far! Absolutely stunning experience. Sgwd Yr Eira Waterfall is by far one of the most beautiful sights Iโ€™ve seen so far. A beautiful and rewarding walk along the Waterfall County will lead you to this absolute gem. The paths ahead may be difficult at first, so do bring some hiking shoes (or at least some wellies). It can be very slippery so do also pay close attention to where you are walking, maybe Iโ€™d go as far to recommend bringing a walking stick with you. Thereโ€™s a clear path to follow to walk behind the waterfall, and it will be very wet! We did some visitors swimming in the water nearby the waterfall which looked fun! But also be considerate of fast rapids further down. Thereโ€™s werenโ€™t any toilet facilities of my knowledge either. With all that said, what a absolutely gorgeous outing! Really magical for both adults and children.

Beautiful. Not for physically challenged people. Some very steep climbs and descents up steep steps in places. Opportunity to walk under the waterfall. Wear sensible walking shoes/boots and poss waterproof jacket. Take a drink and snack and enjoy the waterfall at the bottom. 2-3 hours from the car park for a round trip hike.

Had such a great day out with my friends. The hike started off easy, pretty flat, but does get steeper and harder to the biggest waterfall. I'm not the fittest and struggled a little climbing back up the steep climb back to the pathway. But definitely glad I done it. It was worth the effort.

Lovely walk, takes about 2 hours to get around the loop and see the waterfalls. Was quite slippery because of leaves, definitely needs walking boots and waterproofs if you want to go behind the waterfall! Red route is fair flat but the green route to get to the waterfalls are very steep. Car park is ยฃ5 card parent at the machine which is great.

Lush easy walks for the family (if you struggle with steps, though may not be a good idea as there's quite a lot leading back up) scenery was beautiful and the paths are clean and tidy, plenty of rest stops and view points, great for doggies too. Lush

Lovely walk. Well worth it. Perfect with dogs. Not too many people. Recommend strong boots. Some steps are a big climb and or descend.

Very nice walk, not as difficult as it is mentioned on the various Web sites and signs in the parkings. It can be quite mudy in some of the spots though but nothing unbearable. I recommand to walk the red pathway as well as the green pathways extensions that are dead ends but worth the effort as the views are amazing. You can walk behind the water flow of one of the waterfall, worth doing but be ready for quite a cold shower ! The overall walk will take approx 4 hours. For the parking, if you want to save 5 GBP, come early and park at Colin y Rhos parking, it is free. The number of places is limited to 6 or 7 cars max.

Just amazing!!! Beware plz that no signal - as you expect. But also the parking places are away from each others- remember where you parked ๐Ÿ˜ƒ. No toilets except at parking and it is long way (about 20-30min walk )from the end till you reach the parking. Have fun ๐Ÿ˜Š.

By far the most popular of the 4 waterfall trail, we'd recommend starting with this one and working your way back to the car park. Arrive early to avoid crowds and make sure you wear boots - steps down are steep and muddy. Behind the waterfall was busy by noon on the weekend, we'd do this at 8am on a weekday next time! Beautiful waterfall walk apparently where they filmed some Batman scenes. The path is well signed with info boards along the way. However it can be tricky in some places with light climbing and scrambling required. Also some parts can be very slippery in places so care needs to be taken. Undulating with some steep sections and a lot of steps in places which makes it easy to go see the best sights but you may need a rest halfway through the climb! Beautiful though and totally worth the effort! The car park is large but is pay and display, there are toilet facilities in the carpark, payment can be through cash or an app. Totally recommend a visit, swimming recommended!

The most AMAZING waterfall. It was particularly strong when we went (November time) I assume due to quite a lot of rain the days before. Omgosh this was so worth the stairs, the hike and getting soaked. You get to walk behind the waterfall and it's super cool. I would say if you struggle with slippery surfaces and lots of stairs then this isn't the one for you.

A place really worth visiting. A beautiful walk to the waterfall, 170ish steps down but fantastic when you get there. When we went, lots of people there but easy to focus on the beauty etc. Highly recommend and would like to visit after rain. Photos from walk to waterfall.

One of the Must visit place This waterfall is absolutely beautiful. I and my family inculde my 5 years old daughter walked the trail to see the four waterfalls and we were really enjoyed. There are steep steps to each one so bear that in mind as they can be hard work going back up but it isn't too long. We walked around the edge of the waterfall with ease and had a lovely experience behind the curtain of the water. Such a great one to tick off the list.
