Love bitterwell Lake and the New keeper Paul is a top bloke and very passionate about the lake. The work he has done already is great let alone the work he has planned.. Keep it up mate!

Amazing! I'm completely new to fishing and is brilliant if you want you want to start out. The new owner Paul Isaacs is an absolutely amazing coach and has taught me LOADS in just two sessions. I've caught 4 carp already! The new team are putting in loads of work and effort to tidy the place up, there's always some improvement going on whenever I go and there is a real sense of pride and community. All in all AMAZING! What are you waiting for!

good fishing

My partner goes to this place nearly every Sunday he also like doing night fishing there aswell. Its full of lots of fish in the lake and its always kept clean and tidy. The manager is a decent chap and he help is always there for all different things

Went there for the first time last week, only just started fishing and paul sat with me and gave advice which helped alot. Would recommend as plenty of activity and good quality fish.

Paul has made some fantastic improvements at Bitterwell. His passion for the future success of the lake is amazing, and really encourages and supports the anglers especially the youngsters. Well done !!

Lovely place to visit nice walk in and around the lake

One of the best lakes I have fished for quite some time. Although the lake seems like it doesn't have any features, it is very well stocked and has Reed beds all along the margins. The pegs are all very well maintained and the car park is very close, so you don't have to trek with all your gear. On top of all that, the owner is super helpful and friendly. He takes his time to speak to each person on their peg. He is very knowledgeable and gave us lots of pointers and tips. Caught lots of very nice carp and my pb of 14lb. Will definitely be going again.

Great local fishing lake especially for carp. Its privately and independently owned and the prices are more than reasonable. Get a spot early if you want get the best place, it can get quite full on a nice afternoon.

I came to this lake to day for the first time .. what a lovely lake to fish .. lovely area .. the guy who owns the lake is a nice fella very polite and help full highly recommend for people to fish the lake .. would be back again to fish

Absolute gem of a place, very calm and peaceful

I've been going to this lake for years. Great place for a day's fishing. Paul takes great care of the fishery, maintaining the swims and the health of the fish. He is always very friendly and really knowledgeable. He's always on hand to give you a few tips. There are regular competitions throughout the year and he really supports young anglers who are interested in starting the sport.

Went there for the day. Great price for the day. Caught my first carp. Alot to catch in the pond. The owner is always around to help you if you Need any help with your rod. A really good place to fish for the day. I will definitely go back

Lake still nice. New owner constantly walking around the lake and wanting to talk. I went there for peaceful fishing but instead got chatty owner who also had lawnmower and chainsaw going on which could have been done when the grounds were closed ? Not a very good day all round

Stunning lake..especially course fishing...

I used to fish there about 25 years ago when The lovellyl freindly Mary and her Husband Clive Managed the lake glad to see it's going strong . When I am next in Bristol I am going to Fish Bitterwell Lake and try and recap some fond childhood memories .

Nice lake. Easy access fishing. Can get bizzy in school holidays. Only down side is a port-a-loo. No proper toilet.
