Well, I have very mixed feelings about this place. It isn't luxury, not quite a Ritz-Carlton in my experience, more like a slightly higher-end Marriott. The building is beautiful, the setting stunning, the restaurants on site are exceptional & overall the staff were superb. It is all the little things that went wrong that put me off. I realized (next day) the free water I drank all night was in a dirty bottle. The hotel made amends, but I was super grossed out. The beds are so fluffy you disappear in there and struggle to move about. My husband and I prefer a bit more firmness & were having back and shoulder pain by day 3. The television stopped working & took quite some time to fix, though the engineer was very good. The club lounge is ABSOLUTELY a must & the exchange students working there are such gems! A true asset to the hotel, and probably our favorite feature! Their level of service & attention to guests should be an example to all. Unfortunately someone brought a dog in to breakfast, which is clearly forbidden, and the staff said nothing & my husband actually had to ask the woman to remove her dog from the food area. This was a problem throughout the hotel. It is a health code violation & should not be tolerated, yet most staff just ignored it unless you said something. Not top tier at all and a huge downgrade for me. I love that people love their dogs, but they do not belong in a restaurant. Another drawback was that there were a couple of weddings going on, and as the night wore on there were black-out drunk people all over the place, and many should have been escorted to their rooms. It didn't seem the hotel had provided extra staff for this, so they were quite interfering with the other guests. Again, not top tier at all. The restaurants are often booked solid & many new arrivals were turned away to order room service, as there is no other options in the area. The housekeeping needs a lot of training, they seemed to be most of my issues. From dirty water bottles, to the same piece of trash being in the hallway for days, to blocking our door with the carts & being loud & acting like they just had the run of the place. Really not professional & miles from top tier service. In a high end hotel, you would rarely see and never hear housekeeping staff. You would certainly never have to haul their carts out of your way so you could access your room. Overall a lovely place and a nice stay, but overall value and quality were lacking. I do recommend the place, but I also recommend you lower your expectations.

Blew our expectations out of the water! Incredible service- everyone was eager to help even without us asking. Feels like a proper luxury hotel. Was happy to get upgraded room through American Express fine hotels collection. Make sure to get the s'mores on the evening. Delicious and fast breakfast. Everything as you can imagine is on the pricier side but we were happy with our hotel choice. Also, this is beaver creek, not Vail which is 20 mins drive away

We stayed at the Ritz Bachelors Creek as part of the 3 day Elevation Music Event. The location has great views and has had updates since we were here last in 2018. The staff were great and friendly. Negatives were the rooms were very small for the high prices they charge. Also, their bar prices were extremely high. I was shocked when my one Woodford Reserve old fashion cost $62.

My husband and I stay at 4- and 5-star hotels when we travel and have never been disappointed until our stay at the Ritz Carlton Bachelor Gulch. Unlike the Arabelle in Vail and the Four Seasons in Jackson Hole (our most recent stays), there was nothing at check in or in the room to set this apart from a Courtyard Marriott. The toiletries in the room were as sparse and basic as one can get (in fact, we didn’t even have shampoo, just two little bottles of body wash). There was no welcome basket or champagne at check in, as we’ve always been offered on luxury stays. To further confirm my suspicions on the lack of attention to details at this hotel, I found dog hairs all in my bed when I turned the sheets down (and also found them all over the floors). Being in sales myself, I explained to the manager that I hated to complain but that we would be checking out and finding other accommodations if that would be easier for him than rectifying the situation. I told him we would stay that night and change the sheets ourselves (since I had already sanitized and cleaned the room that was clearly filthy) and he could call me back the following day if they could rectify the situation to my satisfaction. I never received a call back and unfortunately spent those hours in the hotel waiting instead of using my ski rentals and lift ticket. The saving grace of the trip were attentive staff members who went above and beyond in their courtesy and care: Tim at the Front Desk, Sam in the rental shop, and Nick in the Club Lounge. Another thing to know for beginner skiers is that there is not direct access to McCoy Park from this hotel. The trail map is quite deceiving. Once you take the Bachelor Gulf lift to its end, you have to ski down to Upper BC lift and then take a somewhat obscure trail to McCoy. We watched many families have great difficulty finding McCoy as the signage was poor and the trail map was misleading, but this is not an issue of the Ritz, just a side note for any beginner skiers.

10/10 stay I have no words!! Beautiful hotel everyone at the hotel provides top service hospitality. James greeted us told us about the property and was amazing! The lady who checked us in offered assistance and was above my expectations! The best part was the room Tiffany the concierge made my stay memorable and we will definitely back. Entering the room it has a charcuterie board and rose petals!!!!! I wish we had time to check out the spa or go in the pool. Thank you for the memorable stay!

Sad to say one of my favorite hotels can’t seem to pull it together. Got the lounge access for each person and they never stocked anything…. They had cold chicken fingers for dinner each evening and were out of food by 5:30 PM. They never restocked, despite paying and advertising that dinner/heavy apps are served from 5-7 PM. Nothing like other Ritz lounges. Then we went downstairs and ordered food that never came. Finally, an hour later after ordering again our food came cold and was sent back. We were sitting in lounge chairs, and while waiting on our food the Food and Beverage Mgr came over and put a “Reserved” tag on our table. When we asked why she was doing that, she said, “Someone else requested your table.” This scenario happened twice and couldn’t have been more rude or disrespectful. We also called because the room next to us left two barking dogs all day all night to wake people up. Couldn’t be more saddened by the experience.

Beautiful hotel nestled away in the mountains with stunning views. However our room didn't have a refrigerator, nor a humidifier and the air conditioner wasn't working properly so the rooms were stuffy, hot and they ran out of fans for the rooms as several guests were experiencing this issue. Some rooms seem to have refrigerators but the front desk said not all do which we unfortunately got one that didn't which was very disappointing as we requested one.

My husband and I visited for our anniversary weekend at the beginning of November. We had the best time! Even visiting during off season, the Ritz was on top of their game. 5 star service, incredible spa, delicious food, and comfortable rooms. It was such a fun and romantic weekend getaway! Thank you to all the staff!

For a hotel of this stature it feels like it didn’t live up to the expectations. The property itself is located in a great location. It’s an incredibly beautiful setting, with the hills and the slopes in the background. But this review isn’t about the location as I think most of the Vail area is setup to be in an incredibly beautiful spot. We got in late at night. I had already completed my mobile check in and was set for one room and when we arrived the room number had changed. No big deal! The gentleman we met at the front desk was nice but not overly welcoming. Immediately declared they are too busy to have any opportunity to upgrade. So he just made sure that the table was set don’t even bother conversing about it. Once in the room it was cold the heater didn’t work, had to call an engineer to come down. Really nice guy fixed it fairly quickly. The room was well done and most of it was renovated. The part that failed us with this property was the service. The front desk was one of poor quality. Not once did we feel welcomed by them. They saw us with the kids, they never mentioned anything that the resort had for kids (ritz kids s’mores etc. ) they made no attempt anytime we walked by to ask if we needed anything. All of them seemed to be looking down. We are at the restaurant wyld two times, and both times we had a waiter that didn’t get the order right. Didn’t bother to check back in with us to see if we needed anything. Seemed to be busy tending to customers they may have had prior. Which was nice to see but incredibly lame of your on the other end of it where your left wondering why they didn’t check in on us. We are vegetarian and the breakfast menu has no mention that some items come with bacon. Why would you not declare that ? It seems to be a reasonable ask, so that I don’t have to ask for them to remove that or to waste food. Also our waiter should have had that right. The only service that was perfect was the doorman and the valet. They were awesome and welcoming the entire stay. I would have a tough time recommending the property at the rates they charge for practically zero service from the front and a subpar experience with the dining. Also of note, the property has yet to reach out for a survey of our stay which normally occurs right away. Seems management doesn’t want feedback.

Been going for years but sadly can’t continue to give my five star review. Service gone massively downhill, reservations department terrible and the hotel will nickel and dime you on everything. Chain not honoring Chase Ritz Card club upgrades. Amazing location but not worth it anymore. Sad to see a gem go downhill.

We came to Ritz Carlton at Bachelor Gulch for family Thanksgiving holiday. We really enjoyed our stay here & the entire staff is amazing with immaculate service & attention to details. In particular, would like to mention Julio Tapia from the front desk who has added to the delight! His prompt assistance, customer engagement & attitude is outstanding. Also the entire F&B team led by Parker, valet car team, concierge, housekeeping are all wonderful people! Recommend Ritz highly & we shall definitely make another trip here sometime soon.

We went here for our mini-honeymoon following a very dramatic and exhausting wedding. The staff was super attentive, especially Mario (?) in the Club Lounge. We loved the chocolate covered strawberries and champagne they surprised us. You can't beat the location for ski-in ski-out access to Bachelor Gulch and the larger Beaver Creek ski areas. Will definitely return.

Great experience overall! We arrived early for skiing and our room was ready for check-in by 10 am. We were so happy to settle in before heading out for skiing. The ski in/out was so convenient and made our lives a lot easier especially after long hours of skiing. Outdoor jacuzzi was so relaxing. The room was clean amd nice. The only downside was that only one restaurant was opened for dinner and the great room was crowded so we ended up dining in room.

We have been here all of two hours and it’s already first class all the way. One of the best properties eve! From the valets dressed as cowboys to the check-in to the club lounge with Alex and team —- this place is superb. The welcome gift for our anniversary celebration was not asked for but absolutely a welcomed touch! Bravo Ritz! Can’t wait to see what’s in store for the long weekend

I once regularly used the Ritz Carlton as the example for companies delivering world class service. Guess those were the “good ole days”. Seems they have lowered their standards to look and feel more like the Courtyard by Marriott. My family is now on hour 6 waiting for just 1 of our 2 rooms to be ready. Wouldn’t be so bad, but 2 of our kids got ill on the plane ride here and the front desk staff told us they would have housekeeping work on it ASAP. Currently stuck in their lounge/ lobby making other guests endure the sights and sounds of sick children- Great work!!

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights during our summer trip in the Rocky Mountain area. This is definitely one of the best Ritz Carlton I have been to in North American. We thoroughly enjoyed the top-notch service, awesome club lounge, excellent food offerings and the steam room at the spa. We wish we'd have stayed here for a few more days, and we are already planning to come back next year!

First, I have to mention - the service at the fire side bar outside (Nathan, Anna, and others) and the service provided by SOME of the concierge members (Dustin Arguello) has been impeccable and they deserve 5 stars. That said my stay here has been incredibly disappointing so far outside of those individuals. Where do I start - my wife and I have a 6 month old baby we needed to set up the baby monitor (Nanit) so we could leave the room occasionally. After 48 hours of being promised IT could do and have done it before the less than capable person I had to deal with was unable to set up a subnetwork with a password for us. Leaving my wife and I kinda stranded in our room cause we couldn’t keep an eye out during her naps. For a family friendly hotel, this shouldn’t be an issue - mind boggling it is. Next let’s go with the restaurants: Sakaba the sushi restaurant, Wyld, and Buffalos have been extremely inconsistent and the staff doesn’t seem to care. The service has been so bad I cannot even believe it myself. First night after being stranded in the room due to the lack of having a working baby monitor the room service was so busy I decided to go down and get food for us. Waited over 40 minutes at buffalo for cold nachos. We ate at wyld outside and asked to have one of the heaters by our outside table turned on - guy never even bothered to do it. Then I asked the server to come back in a minute as I was still browsing the menu and he never did so I didn’t get a chance to order food. When I asked for my check, they never brought it leaving me to go and find the guy and ask again at the server station. Finally we got a family member to watch our baby and went to Sakaba for a date - 2 people over $800 bill and we would have had a better meal at Nozowas down the mountain for less than $200. Overall I’m so disappointed in my stay and keep in mind my family has been coming up here for decades. This place has really lost its touch and for a $15,000+ stay I genuinely expected more. My expectations were already low but dang this is bad. Oh and let’s not mention the most likely illegal kitchen they have set up by the hallway leading out to the busses that makes the entire lobby smell like fish when Sakaba opens - no hood vents and multiple health-code violations in clear sight.

The place is beautiful and has great views/location. The food is crazy stupid expensive. I paid $26 for a burnt hamburger with no fries or drink from their outside grill. You expect to pay a little more at a place like this, but that was extreme for something that was worse than I grill at home. Please don't give me a dry, burnt patty if I am paying that much.

What a wonderful experience to eat and stay at the Ritz! Everything here is superb, the staff, food and rooms. I highly recommend staying and eating here, fall is beautiful to add to the experience.

Beautiful resort. Went for lunch really big portions! Food and drinks were really good. Service very good but feeling of being short staffed for a 5 star resort. Day was gorgeous and wedding was going on outdoors so vibes were really good!

I stayed at the Ritz Carlton bachelors gulch near the end of August 2023. It was the perfect setting for a father-son vacation. The rooms were super clean, the service was amazing, the restaurants are impeccable, the log cabin structure is other worldly. I would absolutely positively recommend the Ritz Carlton Bachelor Gulch. It was a truly awesome experience. Also, the spa at the resort has all the amenities you could ask for.

Great ski-in and out location and great apres-ski Spa facilities with saunas, steam rooms, hot and cold water tubs and hot water pool Grotto. The outdoor swimming pool is warm and hot tubs have great view of the slopes and beautiful buildings.

Beautiful hotel amazing location and views. Spa is worth visiting! Service is great, and food from all restaurants is delicious. Would absolutely stay again. One thing to note : For the amount of money spent I do wish we had a different room. Unfortunately our veiw from our room was blocked by a roof (watch out of staying on the 6th floor) we woke up to two men walking past our window on the roof which wasn't my favorite part. There were also some cigarette burn marks in the carpet.

Great hotel with spectacular views. All of the staff were extremely friendly and approachable. Dan the GM had great recommendations and was a great conversation partner. My favorite part of my stay was sitting in the lounge chairs at night and looking at the stars. I could see the Milky Way on clear nights. It was gorgeous

Unbelievable experience! This is as good as it gets. Ski in ski out. The only drawback is the main hotel bar does last call at 10:30 during the week. For a work conference that is pretty limiting. Especially for a bunch of mortgage Bankers!

WHERE TO BEGIN. Let me start with this-I have never taken time out of my day to write a negative review. My husband and I own our own business, and understand the impact of a customer review. I also understand the impact a review can have on a small business, versus a BIG business, like the Ritz-Carlton (which is none, but here I am.) But that is how disturbed and upset I am about my family's experience at the Ritz. And after being treated the way we were treated, this review is the only impact I can make. I live in Boulder, and my family lives in Eagle-Vail. My mother is currently going through cancer treatment, and to make her Mother's Day special, I recommended what used to be my favorite spa in the valley-The Ritz @ Bachelor Gulch. My mother received one massage and purchased one swim suit, and I had called to pay for the treatment. By the end of the day, my sister, myself, and my mother had all been charged for ONE TREATMENT/SWIMSUIT. I called twice that day, to follow up and left my phone number to be called if there were any issues. They promised to issue a refund to those who were charged by mistake, and the charge would ultimately land on my card. TEN PLUS days later-my mother calls me after leaving chemotherapy, so confused why she was seeing ANOTHER charge on her credit card from the Ritz. I called the Spa, following up about the charge, and had zero luck with the Enrique or Adam at the Spa. My mom went as far as to drive straight from treatment, to the Ritz to ask why she was charged again, and was met with incompetence at every turn, and left. I called, and spoke to Julio at length to explain the frustrating situation. He had explained that they mistakenly refunded my mother, and needed to run the charge again (12 days later) to rectify the accidental refund. As annoying and unprofessional the situation was, I was ready to move on after a headache of a day trying to figure this out. THEN- I wake up the next morning (day 13) to ANOTHER charge to MY card. To a service I had ALREADY been charged for on the day of the service. This is fraudulent use of my credit card at this point. I called several times that morning to follow up AGAIN with Julio, and left several voicemails. My husband finally got thru to him, explained our frustrations AGAIN, and was told he has to link up with accounting to get the full picture, and Julio had promised a returned phone call that day. NO PHONE CALL. NO FOLLOW UP, other than a lame text the next day. We still paid for the service. IN FULL. NO REFUND. NO DISCOUNT. NO $20 gift card for an overpriced salad next time we're in (which is very often considering my family is there everyday during the ski season) Literally, NOTHING. I would have been treated better at a motel 8, but next time I'll take my business to the Four Seasons.

I have stayed at this hotel on 2 precious occasions, and hope to visit again someday. A 5-star resort in the middle of the Mountains in Avon, CO - what is not to love? The approach to the resort is up a winding hill, and when you arrive, you know you have reached a glorious, exclusive, remote location. The hotel is beautiful inside and out, and has a more rustic feel than a class Ritz hotel that you might find in a major metropolitan area. The lobby, common areas, and restaurants are all pleasing and welcoming. We had room service multiple times for breakfast, and we also dined outside at Spago one lovely morning - the food was terrific. On our second visit, we had access to the Club Lounge which was REALLY nice for breakfast, and for evening snacks and cocktails. I spent some time in the spa, and it is one of my favorites that I have been to (including various at other Ritz Carlton properties). Wet and dry saunas, a hot tub, and a cold tub that is nice for a quick splash. The pool outside is lovely, and the outdoor hot tubs under the trees are amazing. Also great to have toasted marshmallows (and S'mores) over the fire during the evening - a really nice family perk. The surrounding area is breathtaking - we went on various hikes through the ski trails (try the "village to village" pathway, and do it in October if you can when the trees are at peak color - we were blessed to go with such prime viewing) when we were there in the Fall, and it is some of the most amazing scenery I have ever witnessed. Highly recommend - treat yourself for an amazing experience.

The Good: The hotel is beautiful and the location is second to none. The lift is literally at your door step. The spa facilities are excellent. The staff was kind and attentive during our stay, and all of the food at the hotel restaurants was wonderful. Our room was very comfortable and we enjoyed the in-room fireplace during our stay. We had some issues with our rental car during our stay, and the valet staff was extremely helpful. The Bad: Check in on Saturday was a little bumpy. We were not able to check in early (despite having booked through AmEx, which promises early check in when available, and which usually is available) and we were told every hour that our room would be ready very shortly. It would have been better if they’d simply told us it was going to be several hours (and we would have gone and done something else instead of waiting around in the lobby all afternoon). Check out was quick, but proved to be a total disaster when we went to review the invoice. We were charged for the rooms again (despite having prepaid), assessed a smoking fee of $250 (despite the fact that neither my husband nor I smoke) and various other fees ($28 for use of the bellman, $3 a day for house keeping) on top of the standard resort fee that we expected. None of our AmEx credits were applied either ($70 towards breakfast, etc.). We called once we were at the airport to explain the issue, and we were promptly issued another invoice that although closer, was still incorrect. We called again the following day, and we were assured that someone would call us back that day, and we are actually still waiting four days later for that call back, and our invoice remains incorrect. Needless to say, we are extremely disappointed with this level of service at at a Ritz-Carlton. It is extremely unprofessional and, unfortunately, we will think twice before deciding to stay at a Ritz-Carlton in the future.

Our first time staying at here. Although we’ve been to Beaver Creek numerous times. The location is perfect. The staff is welcoming and accommodating. The manager Octavio assisted us in making sure we were comfortable and able to make our 5 anniversary special.

The resort is beautiful, the restaurants inside were great except menus do not list ingredients so if you have a food allergy, be wary. Everyone seemed friendly, except when I had to send food back because I was allergic to a non-listed ingredient. The room service was terrible each time I tried it, definitely not worth what they are charging - you could have tastier food at McDonald's. The turn down service was severely lacking, and the attention to detail is absent. I ordered a beer to my room at one point and was not given a bottle opener; it was not a twist cap. I also ordered soup on a separate occasion and was only given a fork and butter knife, no spoon. The spa was heavenly, but I did not get to enjoy any of the other amenities during my stay and the staff was not very knowledgeable or helpful in helping guests find things to do during their stay, unless you wanted to ski. I was told upon checkout of the other activities I could have tried but were nowhere on any of the brochures nor talked about by staff to me. All of the resort activities were poorly timed or not available during my stay. The nearby town of Beaver Creek was lovely but very expensive. Most of the shopkeepers were nice. One place that boasts the best hot chocolate definitely fell short of expectations for a $7 small hot chocolate that was not very good; I can have better hot chocolate from a Keurig. All in all, it's a nice resort, but it's not worth what you are paying. They really need to step up their service to carry the Ritz name and do it justice.

Outstanding customer service as I have come to expect from this chain. Matt and Tim at the front desk went above and beyond at greet and checkout. Beds are too soft but I will request a hard bed next time. Doesn’t detract from the amazing sights and location. Will stay there again.

My husband and I were here for a very short stay during the middle of September. Every experience that we had was fabulous! Upon arrival we were greeted by the most friendly staff at the front door and at check-in. We immediately headed to the spa for our 10 AM appointments. My Alpin glow body treatment by Mary was the best I’ve ever had! The spa is amazing! We dined at the WYLD restaurant inside the resort and the service and food was wonderful! We will definitely be back! Thank you everyone for the hospitality

We've been to the Ritz a half a dozen times and the location is absolutely beautiful. If you want to visit during the winter or you want to visit in the summer there is something for you here. The staff is great and many have worked there for years! Food at the hotel is great and they've added a new sushi restaurant on-site and it's amazing! If you want beautiful views and some great rest and relaxation this is the place for you!

Gross food that’s is grossly overpriced. You would expect the food to be incredible for a luxury hotel but it was basically gas station food. Extremely disappointing. If I could give zero stars I would. Don’t come here.

This RITZY HOTEL WILL CHEAT YOU. HAS WORLD'S WORST SERVICE-**BUYER BEWARE** The Ritz-Carlton, Bachelor Gulch is a ritz cheat. They will not refund your money!! -We booked the Ritz Carlton Beaver Creek for our 30th anniversary trip in February 16–18, 2021. More than 24 hours in advance we called to cancel reservation because our flight was cancelled due to the colossal ice storm that hit Texas. On the phone they cancelled the room and gave me a cancel #. My credit card was still charged! After several dozen phone calls we were told there would be no refund. We were given a credit only to find out it now did not cover 2 nights but 1. When we used on july 27 2022, they assured us we had a credit but took our Credit card. At check out they said there was no credit. Charged us another $1800. Now we are out $3600 for less than 24 hours at a hotel. You totally spoiled my husband's good intentions. We are SO very sour on the Ritz-Carlton Bachelor Gulch at Beaver Creek your very name has now become the Ritzy Cheat. DO NOT STAY HERE. #canceltheRitzCarlton stay anywhere else.

Awesome hotel and amazing customer service. Hotel is lodge older type atmosphere, but the outside patio/bar/pool areas are the best at Beaver Creek. The pool location is right next to ski lift. Large bar outside with plenty of seating.

Beautiful and just recently remodeled hotel located in a scenic background of Avon Colorado. Also known as Bachelors Gulch. The staff was extremely attentative and if it were possible I would give them six stars. Our room was kept very clean and stocked and the overall atmosphere of the Ritz was very relaxing. We also dined at both the Wyld and Sakata. I can not really rate one over the other as the food and service were both excellent, so it would come down to your own personal preference as to which cuisines you prefer. The only one slip up was when we put out a breakfast order on the door handle the night before and it was never picked up. This is how I found out it takes thirty minutes to receive a breakfast order. The following mornings I did not bother to put out my breakfast request and just ordered after my morning workout at the gym. Speaking of the gym, its a bit tight but there was plenty of great equipment with dumbbells up to 90 pounds.

The staff was absolutely amazing and so was the service. The scenery and amenities were as well. The rooms were nice. The beds were super comfortable and we slept well. Big TVs in the rooms didn't get all the channels in the guide but who needs em. Bathrooms were not 5 star clean but still very nice. Staff made it right when we brought it to their attention. Spa was great and a real luxurious experience. We'll definitely be back. A great stay for sure.
