A truly sublime area deep in the Colorado mountains. Entire staff from teachers to drivers are deeply thoughtful and welcoming. The property is immaculately maintained, with many of the buildings blending in with the surroundings, lending to the feeling of utter seclusion and solitude. The sunrises are spectacular and the sunsets unforgettable. A transformative experience for anyone that I highly recommend.

If you Google this place, you will see some problems in its past. But those are all dealt with. New leadership, new ownership, those responsible for different things have been taken to task. It is a wonderful place, people , and spiritual center. So glad it survived the Cameron Peaks fire.

When visiting Shambhala Mountain you can feel that it's a divine place which offers tremendous peace! Over the years, Shambhala has been one of the places that I go to feed my soul! A beautiful drive into the Rockies, your journey starts in the parking lot as you walk the "path of enlightenment" to the Stupa. Many times I've seen bald eagles above, as we make the trip to the temple. Once inside the temple, there is such a great sense of peace, compassion and love, I often leave with a renewed sense and soul. Make sure to arrive early, stay for lunch (they accept a donation), and be prepared to leave your worries behind. As we were leaving the temple, I turned around to take this photo. While I can't explain it, this photo represents the magic and beauty that surrounds Shambhala Mountain.

Lovely yoga retreat I had in this beautiful mountain retreat in such a peaceful place friendly kind people and delicious food. My only feedback is I would prefer lighter food for yoga and mediation - less beef and red meat generally and more veggies but I enjoyed my time very much and would definitely recommend it and i Plan to go again thank you for creating a perfect getaway to rejuvenate and recharge with some introspection and nature.

This certainly is a sacred place for many, it doesn't matter what faith or calling, this place is magical and energetic. The Stupa is open to the public, and there are many great, short trails for folks to walk on. They've seen fire and tumultuous times, and are stronger for it. Their community is great, so many wonderful folks, some who've been in the land for over 10 years if not more.

There is something magical about this land. Staying here is always an uplifting and spiritual experience. An unexpected bonus, the food is PHENOMENAL. Seriously some of the best food I have had, and there is always vegan and gluten-free food options for every meal. The staff is friendly, approachable, and knowledgable about the land. There are walking trails all over the place that provide some spectacular views. There are a wide variety of accommodations available, from private rooms with private baths, to cabins a good few minutes away from the central campus, and even tent stands (I've seen them around, and believe they are still in use but have admittedly not seen anyone using them on my visits). Wifi is limited unless you are in one of the main lodges, and there is absolutely no cell service. If you are looking for a relaxing place to get away and out into nature, look no further.

Beautiful location and a huge range of accommodations and sacred spaces. Then there is the perimeter hiking trail and the Stupa. Oh and a Shinto shrine. And a lovely gift shop. Do whatever it takes to get here at least once.

What an experience! This place is unbelievably relaxing and yet engaging at the same time. The staff is all so kind and the location is just something else. I went for my birthday and it was really the exact experience and refresher I needed. I think it will become a regular part of my life.

The dirt road conditions were good enough early April, a great breakaway place for meditation with beautiful scenery.

Drala is an amazing place. I’ve visited twice now and the second time was better considering the first time was in the winter and the walk to the stupa was a little brutal. The scenic and winding trail with a creek and hidden landmarks along the way is very tranquil and is home to plenty of wildlife if you’re looking closely enough. The volunteers are very nice to talk to and will be very helpful if you’re in need of directions or guidance along the way. It’s definitely worth the trip up the mountain.

A wonderful hidden gem in the Poudre/Redfeather area. Open daily (including labor day) and free. The stupa is so well maintained, it never has a speck of dirt anywhere. The inside is beautiful and peaceful. Lots of other amenities like the tea house near the stupa, and the gift shop. Workshops and retreats for the more serious/less casual visitor. A lovely place to visit.

Look behind the curtain friends. Do your own homework. Sustainable permaculture is still at buzzword status here. There is more healing work to do. If you're on rota, please sweep & mop.

Beautiful setting, clean facility, wonderful staff and instructors! I did a meditation retreat and was so grateful for the experience. I felt safe and welcome the entire time and I’m usually pretty nervous in those settings. Highly recommend!

Beautiful mountain environment in Colorado. We stayed for a retreat. Accommodations weren't as expected. We ended up in their "dorms" which was 5 rooms, with 2 beds in each. Beds were a sad mattress on hard wood platforms. The shower room, included public bathroom style toilets, and showers with sad shower curtains that didn't close all the way. Later we found out that most of the water there had lead traces in it, as well as the main water to drink was purified/ filtered and then cleaned using a non-chloride cleaner. This is a beautiful place to visit. The Stupa was amazing to see. Suggestion is to visit for the day and not stay in the "dorms."

Went for a meditation weekend. Had an absolutely amazing time. Stayed in the platform tents. The moon was magic at that altitude. Recommend the bookshop and the food. Great vegan and vegetarian options.
