This used to be a great dog park but has been completely ruined by the update. The trails are now paved which would be fine if they didn’t switchback through the entire area making it impossible for dogs to run freely. There’s also no grass and instead small rocks. All the vegetation has been fenced off. I have to wonder if anyone involved in the construction project even has a dog.

I can understand why some people would vote this a five-star Park even though it seems half the park is closed off right now. At first we got scared that someone had come to realize the value of that piece of land and was building a house on it that's why they had the concrete driveway in. But it wasn't until a little bit later that we noticed that they are updating the park. Instead of just the dirt Trail around the park they're actually putting in a nice concrete pathway that has gradual elevation changes so that everybody can use it!! Even people in wheelchairs or people that have Mobility difficulties. There are poop bags and water and the room and room and room. My only question would be, since this area is entirely fenced in, is it truly an open space? Or just a really large large dog park? Hahaha either way it is incredible and will be much better once they are done with the upgrades

This fenced-in dog area dwarfs anything closer to the city, pictures can't capture how massive the dog park is. As long as you don't go at peak times—weekend afternoons—there's plenty of space to spread out, and the crowded hyperactivity and chaos of a typical dog park scene instead has space to breathe, and dissipate. Multiple gates make for an easy exit too. The trail loop around the perimeter is a decent hike, and it's pretty well maintained, but the place is mostly shrubs and dirt, so be prepared for either mud or hot, shadeless sunshine. Even though it's right off the freeway (convenient), with all the rolling hills in the park, you don't hear or see traffic much.

Disappointing at the moment. Used to be a favorite but the open space is currently cut down to a fraction of what it was and now the paths are paved. Not really a “dog park”anymore. Can’t throw a ball very far and there’s nowhere for dogs to run. Might be better in the future when renovations are done. (9.2022)

Great place for your dog! Lots of open space. Paved trails are excellent for the elderly and folks needing wheelchair access. The new updates are great, and they allow for a short or long walk, your preference. It's easily the most spacest dog park in south Denver.

Great fenced area to allow your pup to run around and find new friends. Dogs are friendly and owners quick to step in if their pup is getting over excited and playing a bit too aggressively which is a nice change from some other locations. Nice little agility course at the top of the hill for dogs to try out and a covered sitting area for the owners. Huge space so even when the parking lot is crowded there is plenty of space int he enclosed area. Also very easy to get to as it is off main roads and the highway.

Fantastic dog park! I'd been looking for an open space-dog park hybrid and this place is it! Bring some water for your pup just in case as I didn't see any there.

Haven’t used the trail system yet but great dog park. No water source for your puppers so you’ll need to bring your own.

Haven't done the trail yet buy the dog park is tops! Me and my 9month berner puppy come all the time. Well planned walking trail and small agility course. Highly recommend... much better than the castle rock dog park!

my dog loves this park and i do too. great walk for me and usually pretty good selection of pups for mine to play with. not many puppies. my 6 month is usually the youngest. not many toys and not much equipment but some obstacles for the doggies. great walk for humans! really! trails right next to the park. come to socialize your dog or get some alone time but either way you’ll both be tired on the way home. when the weather is good this place can even get pretty crowded. two big parking lots for everyone to park. not off a very busy road. not much shade either.

Another great Open Space in DougCo. Quick 1.6 mile loop but a huge dog park next to both north and south parking. Great prairie and front range views.

I was here for the trail, but wasn't too come back with the dog later! The parking lot was great and can hold several cars if needed, it was not super busy when I was there on a Sunday late morning in September. The trail was a little washed out, but otherwise a great short easy trail. I enjoy trail running, and I don't think it would be fun for that in it's current state. But it was okay for a walk. Just in case you are curious, my watch says one lap starting on the north side and returning on the south side is about 150 feet in elevation gain. The view at the top was pretty cool, at least until they build houses in the distance. Wide open prairies, it was stunning!

This is such a great dog park! It is massive and has plenty of places for your dogs to explore. It's a nice loop trail that climbs a pretty steep incline. Definitely a good workout for you and your dog. Plenty of places to drop off poop bags throughout the loop. If you're looking for a beautiful place to hang out with Your pup I definitely recommend this place.

I love this place for my dog! There is a short trail that I can take him on after he’s done playing and trails within the dog park area. Be cautious on the trail though since there’s been a few snake sightings lately . Would highly recommend !

If only all owners were aware of their dogs leaving stinky landmines.... then it would be a 5 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Great open space dog park with plenty of room for dogs to run and play with a nice walking path around the perimeter of the dog park. Nice little hiking path as well with a decent amount of challenge (elevation increase) without being too difficult.

In total, the park allows for great space to allow the dogs to sprint and play. I also love the agility area. The double gated area for leashing dogs is great for preventing accidents that could occur. Comments for pet owners (from someone in the veterinary field) : - don't bring toys (to prevent against protective/aggressive behaviour) - bring lots of water (to keep them hydrated) - vaccinate your dog (to prevent the spread of canine to canine diseases)

Great park. Only problem is people don’t pick up after their dog. Honestly wouldn’t mind paying a small annual fee just to get the park cleaned.
