Had been here with my friends. The place serves authentic Tamil Nadu style food. Started the meal with Salem Tattu vada, which was very tasty. And the veg meals was really good the variety on the meal is good. They have added vada in the meal which was really good. I tried the pepper chicken which was with freshly make masala, and chicken was very tender. Also the authentic mutton curry with rice.. Ended the meal with delicious bread halwa. A must visit place

This is not your run of the mill restaurant. If you want to try something authentic, tasty, with a good dose of history sprinkled in, then this restaurant is for you. Be warned that you may not be satiated with just one visit. I am confident that you will keep coming back for more.

We had breakfast here and the food was very good and tasty. Sambar was excellent but the coconut chutney seems to be just out of freezer. Rava kichadi melted in the mouth and the masal vada was tasty as well. And the place was aesthetically done as well.

Absolutely fantastic food, curated and closely watched by the celebrity 5 Star Chef Shri Bala. We had a full course non-veg thali and must say each of the dishes was very very tasty. Must visit place. Best of all, very reasonably priced too.

If you are looking at having home style South Indian food in Chennai. This is the place to go. This was our second visit in the last 10days first visit was for dinner and this was for the kari and Kai meals. The Beauty of this food is that it is homestyle and made with fresh produce that is sourced every day. The fish curry, Dora mutton curry, chicken pepper fry and the dosas are made to perfection with medium spice level.

Non-veg and veg South Indian with each side tasting really good is rare. All of my boot camp buddies went to Yercaud Reataurant in 2nd cross st in Indira Nagar. This is run by our fellow Madras Boat Cluber Shri Bala. This is the first place where they maintain the carbs and proteins constant between veg and non-veg biryani. I know all of you are asking- since when does Deepak care about calories? The menu was unique. I had not had many items previously. My test food in a non-veg place is kottu paratha. It was really good. No chunkie pieces and they had a rough Upma consistency. This really stood out for me. Also they had made the barotta fresh and not using a frozen item. The owner was on hand to help us select from the menu. These were true South Indian food and a lot were from the areas south of Madurai. They were making the kottu paratha but beating down on it being tumblers and not a mixie. We could hear the sounds from the kitchen. The owner mentioned that most of the spices are hand ground including the manjal or turmeric. One unique dish was Kizhi biryani. For the uninitiated this is a biryani that is cooked in a banana leaf that is shaped like a chicken. This is definitely worth a visit. The place is brand and not visible on the map. Try the breakfast as it has a lot of good options. We even took home vazhapoo vadai and bread halwa. Again no visible pices of bread halwa. It was really smooth. You definitely must try the Sulaiman chai. Everyone loved that to wrap up. The following are the items we ordered. *Non Veg* Masal Vadai Apollo Chicken Mutton biryani Fish Cutlet Chicken Kizhi Parotta Veg Kothu Bread Halwa Sulaimani chai *Veg* Masal Vadai Veg Kizhi Parotta Veg masal Kofta Biryani Veg Kothu Bread Halwa Javarisi Semiya payasam They have casual outdoor and indoor full a/c seating.

Order for Kizhi Parotta and even upon verifying they gave me Kizhi Biriyani after a solid 20 mins. I made up my mind to eat the biriyani and it was absolutely tasteless. And lemon soda had no soda in it and was served in a tiny bottle. Price for trying out at a new restaurant comes with a cost of leaving the place with an empty belly.

The food was really good and I'd highly recommended this place. A cute and ambient place, perfect for South Indian dining. Really experienced chef and woman owned business.

It's the food and atmosphere that keeps drawing us back... have also had them to cater for a small exclusive party of 60 People at office and it was greatly appreciated... Much better quality and taste than many other places that I have tried.
