Kengal literally translates to Red Stone. This swayambhu Anjeneya emerged from red rock. Thus the name "Kengal Hanumantharaya" or Kengal Anjaneya Swamy. The list of powerfull temples in Karnataka is countless and this is one of the them. The temple dates back to more than 1000 years, it was built by Hoysala Kings. After that the temple was renovated by the then chief minister of Karnataka Kengal Hamunamthaiah. The stones used to build vidhanasoudha and Temple are same. One of the must visit temple while travelling on Bengaluru-Mysuru highway.

Located on the old NH of MYS - BNG Very holy, powerful and a very nice place as the temple is improved a lot by the management. A whole lot of space is available for having lunch. Watch out for monkeys though as there are many of them.

Kengal Anjaneya Swamy Temple ! A Must Visit place while you're travelling from Bengaluru to mysore. Don't go on the express way from Bengaluru if you want to visit this place. Take a detour near bidadi service road and continue in the old Bengaluru - Mysore Road, you'll get this temple.

Kengal Anjaneya Swamy is five and a half foot-high idol with moustache of lord Hanuman made of natural red stone which is swyam bhu that looks as if it is smeared with Sindur. Sri Vyasa Thirtha, the famous teacher of Krishna Devaraya, installed this statue in 16th century. The temple was constructed by Hoyasala kings and was later renovated by Late Sri Hanumanthaiah, Chief Minister of Mysore State. You can see Lord Narasimha with Lakshmi is seen idols beside main deity. Just in front there is a beautiful brass idol of Lord Balaji with His two spouses, Sridevi and Bhu Devi. On the left hand side there is shrine for Lord Sri Rama. Lakshmana and Sita. The temple premises are quite spacious with very big trees and plants.Just outside the temple there is a pond with a row of steps. This temple is open on all days between 7 AM to 7 PM. It is located on Bangalore Mysore highway near Channapatna.

Small cute temple about 2-3km from both ramanagara & channapatna. Food or maha prasada available only on Saturdays. Visited in Jan 2023, Sunday. Was crowded but still got darshana within 30 min. There's a special queue for those in a hurry, it costs 25 INR per head.

One of important Temples on the Bengaluru - Mysuru Highway, between ramanagaram nd channapattna. The temple has lots of history. The temple has a pond nd is covered with coconut farms, ideal place to spend a mini picnic. There are temples of Lord Sita Ram nd Lord Narasimha too. food nd puja item stalls are available. Marriage halls, parks nd public toilets are also there.

Beautiful place, must visit. It had been a while since i went on a road trip. I took my family over a weekday to seek blessings of Lord Anajaneya & Lord Apprameya (8 KM from Kengal) Photography of the sanctum sanctorum is prohibited. Let us respect the sanctity.

A very good temple to visit over weekends for a short spin. On the way don't forget to have Bidadi Tatte Idli and there is Ambegalu Krishna temple further from Kengal temple.

This is very popular Hanuman temple in Ramanagara District. We will feel the Devine feeling once we enter the temple and we will be blessed by lord Hanuman. The Hanuman idol is Udbhava moorthi and very powerful. This is perfect place for small family functions also. Must visit place if you are on the way to channapatna.
