I have had an opportunity to visit Misty Valley during the last weekend and it was a horrible experience. They were least bothered to provide any kind of customer service. The following are the positive aspects: 1) Exotic location entwined deep in the forest. 2) Breakfast was okay. The following are the few cons I came across: 1) Rude and arrogant behavior of the bald person who was purporting to be the manager of the resort. 2) Pathetic dinner. Not even a single dish could meet with mediocre taste or quality. 3) Sub-standard mattresses and pillows. 4) The manager had assured pickup and drop for Rs. 3000/- per jeep. But the jeep drivers charged us Rs.4000/- for the to & fro journey. We were a team of 14 and had to hire 3 jeeps and incurred a charge of Rs.12000/- solely for the jeep trip to Misty Valley from Nelliyambathi. The return journey offered by the jeep drivers were way too rash and were least bothered to provide a minimal comfort to the passengers. 5) No Wi-Fi and no landline phones to connect with the staff. 6) The Night Safari was just for name sake and no thrill or adventure could be attributed with it. After weighing the pros and cons, I would reiterate that it was a wretchedly unhappy experience at Misty Valley.

Misty valley used to be much better. Now under the new management it is a place better to be avoided. Food is very pathetic. At the time of booking confirm with them how much it will cost you to reach and return from misty valley. They have 2 vehichles with misty valley who they will only rent to guests who will pay more and the rest of us will be stuck with local jeep drivers who will charge you much more than the actual cost. Actual cost for pick up and drop from misty valley is 3,000 for 7 persons. Just make sure you are getting this price.

I stayed in this resort on 13/08/2022. First time visit. From the start onwards experience is very poor, (1) Excess amount was charged for the Jeep Trip to the resort(More than agreed) (2) Rooms and other Facility provided was very Poor. No assistance from the Care taker, I doubt if this Resort have a Care taker because I and My team was doing all arrangements ourselves. (3) WiFi was agreed but Not Provided. (4) Night Safari was agreed but the Jeep drivers forced us to return back because the Resort Team insisted. (5) The Dinner provided on (13/08/2022) was very Poor, we had to starve the night all day. But the breakfast provided was a little better than the Dinner. (6) The 1st Point which I mentioned earlier repeated at the time of Checkout and travelling back. The Jeep drivers were insisted by the Resort team to charge excess. (7) The Charge given for the said stay is too High. (8) I personally donot prefer Misty Valley Resort, Nelliyampathy for stay.

very poor service. few years back we had a good experience here , and so we came here again, but unfortunately we knew the management has changed and thus the service. 1. Poor quality food, lunch was not served 2. They didn't have proper travel facility arranged, and they asked us to take another private vehicle and it cost an extra 500 per vehicle. 3. The room was very bad in condition, there was termites inside our room , everywhere. 4. Wifi was not available, only it was available near their canteen Please don't come here. the earlier management has changed. Now they just trick you somehow to make their profit

Very honest review : Kindly ready fully to get a fair idea. I had been to this Misty valley with family on Oct 1'st 2022 Saturday and spent 3 night which is till Oct 3'rd and checked out on Oct 4'th morning. Bottom line : THE PLACE IS OK FOR JUST ONE NIGHT STAY where you check in at say 3 PM in the evening, take a walk in the evening and at night the resort takes you for a 30 to 40 minutes jungle safari where you get to see only Bisons but the forest experience is good enough. After this 40 minute drive they take you for dinner which is a fixed menu - Chappathi with chicken or veg kuruma and Dosa with chutney - THATS IT. Post dinner you are taken back to your room that's the end of the day. There is nothing much to this place. THEY SAY ROOMS ARE POWERED BY SOLAR SUPPLY BUT A MINIMUM OF 20 HOURS IN 24 HOURS YOU WILL BE IN COMPLETE DARKNESS WITH NO CHOICE EVEN TO CHARGE YOUR MOBILE PHONES. Excuses given for this situation by the management are very childish. Also no bills given, you do a google pay or account transfer but no receipts whatsoever, About the location : The place (location) as such has a very nice environment and one would enjoy it for sure so is the case with the up and down journey which is Nelliyampathy to Misty valley and back. Very scenic four wheel drive road with amazing views. You are asked to park your vehicle at a government building from where you are taken to this resort uphill which can be done only by a four wheel drive vehicle run by private operators and they charge 1500 one way - so you spend 3000 rupees for the up and down journey and this is not part of your package cost. -this is extra. About the actual rooms where we stay : Rooms are neat - no major concerns there. But do not expect a cushy mattress kind of atmosphere. Very low end mattress and bedsheets. I was asked to bring in extra towels for bath purposes as I was told they have issues in getting it dried. They WILL NOT PROVIDE any toiletries (paste, brush, towels etc...). For 2500 PER HEAD PER NIGHT - assume you are a family of 3 which amounts to 7500 per night for a family this place is not cost effective. Cost vs amenities do not tally. Some concerns which the management needs to address : They somehow appear reckless (JUST DONT CARE ATTITUDE). Usually there is no afternoon menu and if you want to stay additional day get things clarified with the reception people before you plan the trip. I had a NOT SO good experience with the hospitality and the afternoon food in particular. They promised a little chicken in the afternoon menu which was discussed the previous day and when I sat at the lunch table all I had in the casserole was JUST sambar and beetroot with pappadam. You get a much better option at a roadside eatery. When asked about this with the so called management people they just seem to downplay it and the reason was even funny - the one who was supposed to cook chicken was drunk and hence kindly adjust. This explanation comes ONLY after you ask them. They are happy with people checking in the evening and checking out the next morning as they know they don't have much to offer for people staying even an extra day. MANAGEMENT NEEDS TO ADD PEOPLE WHO HAVE HOTEL MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE ESPECIALLY IN HANDLING PEOPLE. The current set of people handling this property seem to be more interested in handling daily bills and playing boss with ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE skills.

We went there on a employee tour organised by our company. The Misty Valley team headed by Mr. Ali Kithu was very efficient and passionate about their work. Excellent hospitality and they took very good care for even the smallest needs. The premises were reasonably maintained which seemed quite decent and clean considering that we are in the middle of the forests. The off road track while driving up and down the hills to the Stay resort was amazing. The jeep drivers are highly skilled and passionate about off-roading and they know their jobs very well. One of them by name Jamsheer who drove our Jeep was really excellent. Food was very good and menu has varieties. Night safari was amazing with spotting of deers, wild bison. The trekking trail was great, but take care against the leeches while walking in the forests. My heartfelt thanks to the team. I highly recommend Misty Valley... but definitely not for the faint hearted as there is real off-roading. Once in a life experience.

Misty Valley Hill Resorts is a killer place to stay. Off road drive of 13.5 to the resort from Nelliyampathi was an unforgettable ride! Beautiful and well maintained property. The rooms are spacious, neat and opens to a good view through the front door. Stay was really memorable for all of us and will recommend this place to my friends and family too.

Wilderness at its best. Resort can be accessed with a 14kms of off roading with 4WD jeeps only. Location is absolute bliss for both family and friends. Climate is very chill here. They would arrange night safari and chances of sighting is high. Morning trail to the near by mountain gives a breath taking visual of surronding forest and adjoining three dams.

A place where you can wake up to the beauty of the forest and the chirping of birds, and get peace and tranquility. Employees who interact like good friends. The abode of all wild animals, be it the elephant, the bear, the wild buffalo, the deer . Thank you so much mist vally for giving me memories to cherish.

Misty valley hill is a must visit place. We visited from Bangalore with out much expectation, initial Jeep trek itself blew our minds away. Staff are very polite and Co-operative and helpful. Night safari was very good, the safari path was very thick forest and spotted many animals. And hospitality they showed us awesome. This is the one of the best place we visited till now. Looking forward to go there again very soon.

I first visited Misty valley in Dec 2021 and was blown away by the location, the sure sighting of wildlife and the overall experience. So much so that I decided to revisit the resort again in Apr 2023. This time however, the service was poor, the management were stubborn and frankly they didn't care. All this along with a dramatic increase in room tariff with a very poor service. The only highlight was that the location and wildlife is still the same. The staff blamed these changes on new management but I highly doubt if that's the sole reason. We were even denied grilling our own chicken and they insisted on us having dinner from the resort itself or buying grilled chicken for Rs. 1200/- per chicken! It just ruined what could have been a memorable experience. Please don't take tourists for granted!

#Dinner not worthy. And they treated like kids. Master Mr. Biju obeyed roughly. There is available 3 category rooms. But common dinning. So whoever come 1st they can enjoy all kinds of food. If u come later definitely not availed any special foods... They also cheating about sight seeing and trekking.... Too cost for this accommodation accommodation... We enquired to local people about stay in nelliyampathy they advised Green valley resort is best one. But nelliyampthy is must visit once in life, Location and atmosphere too good . And off roads jeep safari also making good experience

The vehicle should be parked in Nelliampathi town and then take a jeep to reach the destination. The place is located in the middle of a forest about 12 km from the town. Jeep safari is really enjoyable .. No mobile range here, they use solar power for electricity, they have trekking points and night jungle safari.

Google allows us to give at least one star or else I would have give negative 5 for this resort Pros The 15 km off-road on the way to the hotel was a good experience. Cons First of all the welcoming was not at all good and the attitude of the manager Jayakumar was really disgusting. He didn't even welcome us. We were a group of 3 and we paid around 2200 per head plus 1180 GST . For this much money the place was not at all worth it. In the evening as we checked in they offered us with one single savoury and one black tea, even though if u are willing to have more for money, they won't offer you. Later the rooms were okay but not as worthy for the penny, Later the day they will took us for a night Safari and hardly we could see bisons and cats. Dinner was okay with chappathis and vegetable kuruma , if you are not vegetarian they would provide you chicken gravy and fry Once you are done with your dinner, you can go to your rooms and rest as everything around would be dark and you would eventually opt to get back to the room. They had provided internet connectivities / wifi which were of low bandwidth and speed, we hadn't had mobile network hence we thought of having their internet connectivities which was further disappointing Overall, it's just a good place to vibe if you are with a lot of people who are willing to move to an offline life Requesting to spend your money worthy Thanks

Visited last week, ie during the month of March. Temperature here was around 29- 18 degrees. Stay was nice. Night Safari was also equally good . We were able to sight Indian Bison , Elephant and deer. The major highlight of the trip is the offroad experience.

Deep inside the forest, away from all the city hustles, this place is a gem. located inside the forests in Nelliyampathy, it takes an hour's jeep drive from Nelliyampathy to reach here. the night safari is breathtaking - we spotted lion tailed macaques, sambar deers, Indian bisons, and an elephant taking a bath in a waterbody inside the forest - in a span of 40-50 mins. No electricity lines, it is all solar, which they switch on after the sunset. Good food, good people and great fun.

The off-road experience is mind blowing. The weather and the scenic beauty is excellent. The only drawback is that the rooms are poorly maintained though they are clean. Very high scope for improvement in room quality.

Located deep inside the forests of Nelliyampathi Hills, Misty Valley Hill Resort stands out as the best choice for those seeking the beauty and serenity of the wilderness. Located approximately 14 kilometers away from Nelliyampathi town, reaching this location requires a sturdy 4x4 vehicle due to the challenging, muddy, and steep roads. ****I recommend confirming transportation arrangements with the resort managers, as local jeep operators may try to persuade you to choose their services over the resort's vehicle. Having cash on hand is a wise choice, considering the lack of network connectivity deep within the jungle and the unreliable Wi-Fi service. Additionally, be mindful of service charges at local cash vendors in Nelliyampathi****. The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the night safari, which was nothing short of an adventure. We encountered Indian gaur, wild boar, and sambar deer, which were regular sightings. However, spotting elephants, leopards, and even tigers requires a touch of luck. The British bungalow has a serene view of cloud covered mountains which is a feast for the eyes.

You wanna see wild Animals - pack your backpacks and get to this place. By the time you start back you will be literally tired of seeing wild bison. A 220 years old Bungalow built by the British in the middle of 950 Acres of dense forest..that's 'Mist Valley'. And the drive to reach there...it's simply Amazing.... No words or pics can explain it ..you must experience it to know what exactly I'm trying to pen down... And the next best thing is that your phone can only be used as a paper weight till you descend back..

I went there with my friends but would suggest it for families too as there is a lot of privacy and the staff are so professional. The package does not include the night safari but it's completely worth the price. We could see wild gaur, deer at night safari and saw an elephant roaming around during the day near the property.

Lovely location and adventurous place to reach. Rooms were old but decently maintained. We stayed in heritage bunglow which was constructed by Britishers. Was a different experience altogether. Can't expect a corporate hospitality due to the location

The location and the ambience was awesome, friendly staff and ready to accommodate our requests. Jeep safari is good, you can see a lot of animals. Overall its a nice experience. On the other hand rooms were not upto the expectation since we are paying a pretty high amt(3k per head). Bedding n Pillows were very very basic and not comfortable.

Misty Valley is a resort located in the middle of Forest and we loved the off-road travel through the amidst forest and scenic nature. It's about 1-1/2 hours off-road journey (in a jeep) from Nelliampathi. You must park your vehicle at Nelliampathi. Safari at late evening was a memorable experience and we could spot Sambar deer, Indian Gaur etc. Enjoyed the early morning trekking and the view at the top of the hill was amazing, that we wished to stay there for ever. The food was good and the service was not up to satisfaction, but they can improve and can provide better service. The staff was supportive.

Nelliampathi Reserve as such was a great experience. One You should truly visit to experience the offroad adventure provided, the shear beauty and mesmerizing sights it provide. Having said this, I'd suggest you to please check the property and amenities provided maybe twice or thrice before you start your journey. The place we stayed is called 'Misty Valley Resorts'. The WORST place you can stay to enjoy this beautiful place. We were 6 ppl paying 14k for the stay. But when you arrive they provide black tea and banana fritters, there isn't one extra or less. Just six. When asked if you can provide few extra, they start blabbering about the price of banana and tea powder. We were okay with this, then moved to the room. The rooms were as seen in the pics, not too shabby not too good. But there isn't any soaps or towel provided in the washrooms. The pipes are all broken and oozing out water as if noone cares. Again considering the remoteness of the place, we got adjusted to the situations, the eve food again was limited.. The chicken strips provided had been fried to its core. We enquired about providing a grill and chicken for us, the cost is 1400☠️ for one chicken. Again Its my humble request to the readers, if you are okay with this and ready to experience all the above said hurdles, please go ahead. Otherwise I'd suggest you guys to stay away from the place. The facilities and amenities provided is tooo bad for the price we provide. Note: We went here because one of us had already been here once before, but the management changed, maybe because of this we faced so much if these issues. Just putting it here for reference.

My last trip was pleasant, so I booked once again, and I thought the trip was fascinating and enjoyable like the previous trip, but it was terrible when I booked the resort they offered. There is trucking in the late evening to the forest and early morning, but I couldn't experience both regarding hospitality when I reached the resort; the room was not cleaned, including the washroom, and the staff was not compatible more this I don't want to write. Anyway, I Select one star; hence there is no minus star. Maybe this happened new management change

Our trip to Misty Valley was superb. The way to the resort itself is an experience. We stayed in a separate bungalow called "karady bungalow", which is opt for bachelors. The only negative I felt was the cleanliness of the room and surroundings which is to be improved. Non availability of hot water, toiletries, even bath towels too to be corrected. Staff are good. The food arrangements and the food is also good. Night safari also was an experience and can see different animals. Overall, Misty Valley is an good experience. Hope that the management wil takecare of the negatives mentioned so that the guest will have an awesome experience. Thank you!

The location is like heaven and the off-road ride from Nelliyampathy to the resort also we enjoyed. But the management disappointed us, they didn't give us the cottage which one we booked, they gave us karadi bunglaw, it was rainy time, bunglaw was like a river, full leakage. The management don’t know how to take care of things. No maintenance for the resort, I won’t recommend this place to anyone.

It's a nice place for who love off road travel amidst forest. It's not a regular tourist place and resort. It's 14 kms offroad journey (in jeep only) from Nelliampathi. You need to park your vehicle in Nelliampathi. Service was good and staff was supportive and courteous. Enjoyed night safari and trekking. Could spot Elephant, Sambar deer and Indian Gaur. Enjoyed the stay and travel.
