Penchalakona is a very devotional place with beautiful hills around. Well . This temple is very famous for narasimha swamy and it is famous for waterfalls from mountain rocks during rainy season. Punsusila Laxmi Narasimha Swamy temple is situated at foot of the Penchalakona Vally which is located in PenchalakonaVillage of Rapur Mandal in Nellore district. Lord Narasimha here is Swayambu swamy who is here since Kruta yugam. This is 30 km from Rapur, 70 km from Nellore and 85 km from Razampet. Nellore is best convinent to reach here. History of the Temple: Penchalakona temple is one of the Nava Narasimha temples which all are located with in Andhra and Telangana states. List is as follows, 1. Ahobilam - Kurnool 2. Darmapuri - Karimnagar Lord Narasimha even after killing Hiranya Kasyapa, he could not control his anger and he came to the forest. To cool him down, Goddess Laxmi approached him in the form of a tribal lady named Chenchu Laxmi and hugged lord at this place. The Hug is telugu is called as "Penu Vesukonuta". Hence this place is called as Penusila and later changed as Penchalakona. It is said that Lord married Chenchu Laxmi and manifested himself as huge rock. The Annual festival of the temple brahmostavam starts on Vishaka Shudda ekadaashi during the month of APR and May, which is a Major festival at Penchalakona and is celebrated over 5 days every year. Wonderful religious place in the middle of the forest. It's a very famous temple and people come here every day. Right now( Nov 2020) waterfalls is visible because of good rains. There is a stream just opposite the temple. It's a well maintained place with ample parking space, many rooms are available, temple also provide free sacred food.

Lord Vishnu came to earth to save bhakta prahallada at this place. There is narasimha Swami temple and lakhmidevi and Hanuman temple. Near ammavari temple there is big Banyan tree. No need to purchase dharsan tickets. Bus facility is also there. There is room facility and small food stalls ,annadhana satram also. Weekend there is Swami vaari uregimpu is also there . Only thing for clothes changing rooms and toilet are free of charge but workers demands money. Koneru is very pleasant and in rainy season don't miss the waterfall

The place is so nice and calm. We visited recently as due to no rain there is no water at the nearby waterfall.

Sri Penusila Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple is a must visit place for devotees...Rooms available here...Road connectivity is also excellent from Rapur or Badvel...You can plan somasila dam visit also on this trip...On normal days it takes less than 5 min for darshanam ....On festival days it takes 1 hr...

God is very powerful

Temple was located in very peaceful Environment and the History of The Mulavirat which was found over here is very vulnerable. Not so Crowded in Normal days except Saturday, I've been visited this place several times worshipping the Narasimha Swamy was really blessing for me. Mobile Network would be poor but it was ok.

Located in remote place called Penchalkonam, 75 km west of Nellore (A.P.). Hourly bus service available from and to SRT bus stand Nellore. No rush due to Covid,and I Think it won't be crowdy except certain holy days in year. Prasadam available on 12.30 pm at sri vari annadan bhawanam. Accommodation available only on the spot here. Very nice place. Had a pleasant time. Annadanam was really good. Very helpful for devotees during afternoon. Annadanam is available only till 2:30PM. There are no other hotels for food close to temple. Darshanam was nice. Some times you can enjoy waterfalls also here. May be in October you can visit to play in water. Car parking is close to Temple.
