We had an awesome stay in one of the chalets. Amazing views of the ocean from the lounge,bedroom and even outside by the braai area. We enjoyed everything this resort had to offer and cant wait to visit again!

There is no place in the world with breathtaking sunsets like this place. Great camping experience. Good security. Family orientated. My home away from home.

Our first camping experience with our caravan. It was such a beautiful experience. The resort was beautifully kept and the ablution was clean. The weather was fantastic. Friends made was wonderful and we can't wait to camp again at the resort.

Just love this resort … incredible sunset and sunrise .. where river meets the ocean and beautiful sand dunes. Great for fishing, sand boarding and rowing. Amazing steep dunes to attempt. One of my personal favourites. Great for camping and stay in chalets. Ablutions are clean.

Went out for the day. Love the booking system they have now, things are more organized. Bathrooms can use some attention, some of the stall doors don't close. Great that each picnic spot has a picnic table and braai. It is always a whole lot of fun at Van Stadens!

We enjoyed our stay tremendously. Friendly people from staff to guests always had smiles . Would recomend to anyone you basicly have a beach for the resort only now day guests on the resort side. We enjoyed all but the loadshedding did not suit well. I would recomend getting solar to ensure the guests are happy all the time.

Beautiful place. Booked a picnic spot for the day. The water in the river mouth was great for swimming, the kids loved it. There are plenty of activities. My issues were that there was a very rowdy family at the picnic spot right next to us the were playing loud music from their vehicle, if I wanted to listen to music I would go to a club, or put on some headphones, not go go to Storms River to enjoy the day with my family. At least put a sign that says 'no loud music' or something... The other issue was the litter, there were bottle caps and cigarette butts everywhere, before leaving I asked my family to pick up all the litter including the cigarette butts and bottle caps that were left laying there for what may have been years. There were also plastic bags and polystyrene cups in the water and litter on the beach, at least pay a guy to keep the place clean.

This is an old favorite among Port Elizabeth people. The resort had a revamp and upgrade, and it is very nice, and very clean. It is now properly run, and loud music, raucous behavior etc is not tolerated. Great family fun for a quick picnic, or the whole day or even a few nights stay.

Lovely camp site, but the lady helping us at reception was extremely rude and unwelcoming. Very unfriendly. Overall a disappointing experience.

Never realised something so small could ruin an experience completely. After making a mistake on my part by paying for my son who is 4 years old, I saw up to 5 year olds are free so I asked for a refund which was refused. They just wouldn't budge. I sincerely find it totally unethical of staff and management to be so unprofessional and greedy. It's not even about the money, it's the principle. First and last time I ever take my family there again.

Awesome clean facility with great views and atmosphere. Only issue sometimes is day visitors being noisy around lagoon area.

Have been camping here for 40 years. Camping now for first time since 2019. Absolutely dismal. Management currently undertaking so called maintenance. People working right in front of the tent, bathrooms are closed for painting, no hot water - after load shedding campers are expected to fiddle with electrical boxes to get hot water again. Bathrooms that are usable are not cleaned. Very disappointed. The park should have been closed during the repairs.

Beautiful beach and lagoon unfortunately people play very loud offensive music through their speakers until late at night, destroying any chance for tranquility. Impossible to get my baby to sleep, sounds like I am in a disco with dj boom boom pow.

Beautiful resort with many sand dunes, endless white beach and a nice lagoon for the youngsters too play.

Couldn't even get in. Tried to see what it looks like but the lady at the booth just said to wait for someone to open it. Waited for 20mins... will try to visit it again one day, but will recommend the staff be trained better!

The new booking system 24h in advance and pay for a day visit isnt worth it in terms of weather. we booked a day before and on the day the weather was terrible with rain and wind. When we asked the staff if we could swop our day to another day they were very unhelpful and said no. Atleast offer a swop of day if you do not give refunds. Or even give customers an option to come in another day during a quieter season. Weather apps are not always 100% and so you have a 50% chance of loosing your payment.

Absolutely superb experience with spectacular views of the sea, river mouth and dunes. The sight of little children riding their bicycles or playing was a joy to behold. Really a great place for camping/caravans. Really affordable and clean. Follow COVID protocol at all times. Very friendly and apparently good fishing for the men. A neighbor shared his catch of Elf and Galjoen braai with us. Overall a fantastic weekend. We will be going back there often.

We stayed in a rondavel for three days. Pure relaxation on the Indian Ocean with a fantastically beautiful beach and waves worth seeing.

Great place to take the family for a vacation and no worries about safety

This beach resort is well maintained and neat. Plenty of shaded camping sites. The lagoon is great to practice swimming in.

Great experience. Very calming place. Perfect if you need to get away from the busy world. We walked the dunes and fished. The Rondavel was great. Equipped with the essentials.

Very lovely place. We’ve been coming here every year. Just two things that needs improvement , the shop that isn’t open when its supposed to be open during the week and more workers needed to assist with canoe and other activities since there’s never anyone when one wants to canoe or so.

Popped in to see what it was like. Looks safe for camping and was also nice and clean.

Always an enjoyable visit. Family friendly. Have always felt safe. Lifeguards on duty. Lots to keep kids entertained including hiring sandboards and paddleboats. Also a trampoline area. Clean ablution blocks. Convenient shop on site. And during the holidays there was also a food truck serving delicious food. Definitely worth visiting. Lovely for day visitors. Picnic sites have a braai spot. Also a lovely place for camping. No dogs allowed though.

Loved this place since childhood. The river mouth, beautiful beach and sand dunes never get old. Day visitor spots are now closer to each other, So less privacy, some people were playing thier music for everyone to hear. A little annoying. Toilets could be a little better equipped for day visitors.

Was great fun. Clean, well kept and an all around awesome experience. Definitely going back soon!

It is a nice and popular resort which needs a lot of maintenance and cleaning. Attached photo is what I had to pick up before I could set up camp. Bathrooms are old and can do with a upgrade. The area in front of the bathrooms await for somebody to have a accident and that could cost the resort millions. What was done at the day visitors area is very great as this was always a problem for campers.

Mailed reception regarding a chalet with specific dates,they send me my reservation which i was unable to open. Took a morning drive today to go pay for the chalet personally, just for them to tell me that they booked a camp site and not the chalet. The chalet was available but not anymore. Not sure if there is to many cooks in the kitchen. One doesn't know what the other is doing. Would have been my first time staying there and it was my first time to actually see the place. Its very Beautiful
